  • Steve and Dave also did the voices for the characters in The Muppets movie!

  • I don't know what to say! Statler and Waldorf are freaking cool!!^^

  • Dave and Nelson are oddly enough my favourites since I tend to be biased towards the more popular incarnations. The DOH-HOHOHOHO just has so much more comedy effect than them simply laughing together at the same time.

I would say Jim Henson shifts up to Kermit from time to time when he was Waldorf, I haven't heard Rowlf the Dog too much so I can't comment on that.

As with the other videos, excellent work my friend. =)

  • My view is that the original Statler and Waldorf puppeteers had a sense of humor and timing... something the new voices/puppeteers seem, to me, lack.

  • I actually think that Drew's Statler sounds a lot like Richard's.

  • @MichaelBrookham Yes, its very very close. But the personality of the character isn't quite right...

  • Has anyone noticed that in the fist computer clip the time their mouth moves is delayed just a bit?

  • Where do you get your info on the performers?

  • @coolifyou Internet.

  • May just be me, but I think the old hecklers were less insulting of the show during it's first season, becoming ruder as the series progressed. Yes?

  • @NaiTaiDai And to think, they started out as just a bunch of unfunny dying old men...

In a way, they improved over time.

  • Victor's Waldorf sounds pretty close to Jim, it's just the character and accent is completely wrong.

Drew's Statler has the character pretty right but the voice sounds like a forced impression.

  • @QIsForK12 I totally agree. Victor could probably do a great Waldorf if he'd just get the right infection. And Drew's Statler sounds nearly identical to Richard Hunt's, but there's just something "off" about it. Like you said, it sounds like a forced impression.

  • I think you switched Waldorf with Statler in the descriptions... Statler is the one with a cleft chin...

  • @corjonbett I'm well aware of which one's which. Thank you. What do you mean I "switched" them? I read all of the descriptions again and they appear to be correct.

  • @corjonbett It seems more like WALDORF'S voice is the one that became higher pitched, and more nasal...

  • @corjonbett Well, I guess you're hearing it differently than I am.

  • Also, if you watch the Fraggle Rock episode Beyond the Pond, you'll notice that one of the characters, Mermer Merggle sounds like Steve's Statler.

  • What's interesting to me is that Dave's Waldorf sounds a lot like Traveling Matt from Fraggle Rock.

  • Jim & Richard and Steve & Dave are the best Statler & Waldorf pairings indeed. :)

  • @disneynut06 I agree. Though, I did enjoy Dave and Jerry as the hecklers in A Muppet Christmas Carol.

  • @MuppetVoicesAndMore Same here.

Also, I have since recalled another voice that was overlooked with these two: In the first two 1975 Muppet Meeting Films ("The Muppet Introduction" and "Just a Few Announcements"), Jerry Nelson performed Waldorf, who was called P. Fenton Cosgrove in those shorts.

  • @disneynut06 Very true. Also, Kevin Clash performed Waldorf in the first episode of Muppets Tonight.

And either Artie Esposito or Bill Barretta performed Statler on the Jimmy Fallon Show.

  • I think Dave and Steve do a good job with Statler and Waldorf.

  • These guys sound like they age in reverse, don't they? XD

  • @NaiTaiDai Most of the Muppets are like that xD

  • @NaiTaiDai Yes they do, I prefer the latter Statler and Waldorf.
