It's definitely a bit over powered, But I love this vehicle, My mother bought one in 6-08 with all these options except the nav system.

I think alot of SUV's in the same category as the Escape are over powered. One of these would make out fine with 150-175 HP but no complaints with some extra HP. 200 is enough for my mom's needs, lol.
