I actually prefer this original SF over SF2... I like the characters of this game, and Sagat is awesome. Ryu actually has good resistance, unlike the other SF2 versions fail to show him respect he deserves. But there's no Vega or Bison, major disappointment. If you time the fireball and are fast at it you can be invincible. HAHAHA
The trick to pulling off special moves is to push the attack button and hold it down, then do the directional command, then let the attack button go. The moves register when you let the buttons go, not when you push the button.
I shit you not. At least, that's how it works on the arcade and on my Capcom Classics Collection version. I'm not sure if it'll work on the wii through. Try it out until you get the hang of it and get back to me. You might have to try it out in 2-player a while to get the hang of it without the opponent attacking you though.
@norik434 Depends. Usually they only do about 1/3 of a lifebar's worth of damage. A three hit shoryuken (not likely to land sicne you have to catch them with a hit from the knee and they're usually already knocked back before that final hit connects) ) or the hurricane kick tend to have the best odds of KO'ing in one move.
Very good idea not to rate the game. It's a game of the past, the very first fighting game as we know them. In a nutshell : it is a relic. People will be interested by pure nostalgia or curiousness. You don't get relics for fun factor, you get them just to say you tried them.
I remember playing this years ago in the arcade, when they had pressure pads instead of buttons and you did an attack based on how hard you hit the pads. That made the game almost unplayable, baring in mind the controls were a little broken to begin with. Still, great review and it brought back a lot of nostalgia for me.
Thats amazing, its so rare to see a fighting game in which you can only use one fighter. The only other game I can think of is Rise of The Robots for the megadrive, which I think you could choice charaters in two player. Would be interesting to get to see what the original was like but i suppose that one of the reasons for the vc along with nostalgia and getting games you weren't able to get when you were young.
I remember when I was 13, I got curious about Street Fighter 1 as well, and I checked it out, and didn't have much fun (though for some reason I kept playing it till I lost). But you're right, it's kind of cool to see where it all started.
@DEIVION212 do you play with wiiimote and nunchukc?
luisale130 7 months ago
Nunchucks don't work on any VC game. Wiimote, Classic or NGC are your options, excet for SNES and N64 games where Wiimotes don't work.
DEIVION212 7 months ago
@DEIVION212 hyey dude guess what? my wiimote (not nunchuck) worked for VC games is it weird?
luisale130 5 months ago
No, Wiimotes will work on all NES, TG, C64, Neo Geo, SMS and most MD/Gen games. It's only SNES and N64 you need a pad for.

I don't like the look of this game but I may give it a try sometime since I'm in a real big mood for fighting games.

They want $8 for this monkey turd? No thanks.
superdeeduper51 2 years ago
you should show respect
it's indeed the first original street fighter games
dafreshboythemighty 2 years ago
True, but the controls are so broken on the Turbografix because of the lack of buttons that I just couldn't justify the purchase.
superdeeduper51 2 years ago
Arcade controls were awful too.
DEIVION212 2 years ago
Didn't the game originally have long loading times? We're the loading times reduced in the VC version?

Because I wanted to beat the shit out of 2 yanks and not 2 Brits :)

Don't rate the new ones though either, because how does my opinion help you?
Which is why I try to limit my vids to facts, but people still want my opinion so I throw it in there as well.
But even though I mention opinionated things from time to time,I'll never score the games.

fighting.....street......sounds like street....fighter.....lol.
looks haven't played many vc games. need to get some more.

SF2 may be the most improved sequel in gaming history. They went from this dated thing to one of the greatest fighters of all time.

To the greatest fighter of all time.
There is no better than SFII.
