A guy From Wolf Camera(A Camera Store, DUH!) and he said that the S5 is discontinued, so it's logical that the s7, or s6 is coming out. He also mentioned that Canon makes new camera's during the Spring, and Fall. Should you wait? Maybe, your decision.

just letting you know the next powershot series is called the sx10. it has slightly better upgrades, but i'm waiting for the sx1 which features high def recording and a cmos sensor.

I'm on the fence between this cam and the Panasonic Lumix DmC-FZ18 which one do you recommend for a trip to alaska? The Lumix has 18x zoom
