umm I could be wrong but "The Landing" isn't the battle theme for FFVIII per say. Yes it is for that particular mission early on in the game but the actual battle theme for FFVIII is titled "Don't Be Afraid" I believe.

There were a few things I didn't like about 6 at all but other things that I was just fascinated with and thought they did an amazing job.

... This is the most ridiculous convo I have heard in a long time. They are just games. Play them, have fun, like what you like, and different tastes are different tastes. I know a few people who think 7 is the best FF ever. Other's would say 4 or 5. I even know a couple that say 10 is. I like 8 and 12 the best I know 10 ppl for 9.

That being said the over all story line of 9 is extremely dark, execution did need some work but that is probably arguable depending on what one likes/dislikes.

I found the boss battle theme to be made of suck, Sword of Doubt was decent at best. Kuja was a closet furry who had a thing for incest, Jesters of the moon sounds like a gay pride movie, Hunter's Chances was decent, Black Mage Village was about as good as the shit I took not two hours ago, Loss of me was mediocre, and the character themes still paled in comparison to Final Fantasy Six. Also, the airship theme sucked in comparison to FF6's.

FFIX had the much better soundtrack. Battle Theme, Melodies of Life, Life Tree, the Crystal World, Terra, You're Not Alone, Freya's Theme, Beatrix Battle Theme, The Play, Dark Messenger, and the Final Boss theme. All much better than the overrated FFVI themes.

The SO2 theme is missing like... all percussion, and the trumpet synth in the solo bit in the middle. That's why someone said it was 'lacking' earlier. First time I heard that on PSX though I was like 'shit, that's a theme'. The Sakuraba from Valkyrie Profile and SO2 is my favourite. The one in the later games just doesn't cut it.
