@CropDuster33 The thing is psi is irrelevant its all about how much cfm a turbo can flow. G15 turbo may make 300 hp on 15psi but the the G18 could make that same hp at 7-8 psi just because it's bigger and can flow more air.

PSI doesn't tell you anything without knowing the size or type of turbo. An example would be that a gt42r on a supra will make a lot more power at 15psi than a gt3076r at 15psi.

My turbo hits full boost at 3200rpm and the redline is 7500. Doubt you ever have done near that.
@BigBadTurboM3 No, its not 8 psi. its 4 psi because its is a V8, so both sides are isolated. Each side IS running at 4 psi. If it was a sequential twin turbo, then it would be close to 8 psi, but its not sequential, so its 4 psi.

However, on your statement, even for a sequential setup, 4 psi at the intake manifold is 4 psi total. I owned a few different sequential setups, for instance on my rx7 fd, your gauges reads 10 psi at the intake manifold, it is making 10 psi total.

you people are missing the point. we run the car at 4 psi ON THE DYNO. because the dyno WILL ONLY HOLD 1200 HP. On the track we have run so far only 12 psi and have gone 225 mph in the standing mile. we will soon run 25 psi and see what she will do.
So again, the low boost numbers are for the dyno. You gain nothing by making dyno pull after dyno pull just to get a big number.
that is for sissys, we turn the power up on the track, not to show off how cool we are standing still..

Not to mention dyno's generally do not force as much air into the intake manifold, as the velocity and inertia of air when you are actually moving at said 225 mph. Seems very logical to keep the boost low on dyno, and raise it once on the asphalt where the engine can keep cooler with the proper air coming in. Beautiful build

Put a gt5533r on a 2jz supra and run 4psi. It prob would actually break 450hp. (Funny you said hp instead of whp like a nub...)
PSI doesn't tell you anything without knowing the size or type of turbo. An example would be that a gt42r on a supra will make a lot more power at 15psi than a gt3076r at 15psi.

A little further down in the thread he said this viper was making 8 psi because there are 2 turbos, and he said anytime you have 2 turbos you double the boost pressure to get the actual pressure. lol, the guys a moron. Question, if you had multiple throttle bodies (some cars have 2-4) would the pressure then need to be multiplied by the number to TBs to get the actual boost because you would then most likely have multiple MAF sensors (I have never worked on cars that have had more than one TB)? That's probably a stupid question, but I'm making this comment at 12:15am without really thinking about it.

@zbshogun : Do you always make a bunch of comments not know ANYTHING you are talking about? The only thing I care to answer on your load of crap you just spewed is: Yes, I did ALL the work on my car. I built the motor from top to bottom. The pistons are actually MY design. I built the turbo setup myself, and I tuned it myself. it just laid down 635whp and 621 ft/lb and I have alot of headroom. My turbo hits full boost at 3200rpm and the redline is 7500. Doubt you ever have done near that.

@BigBadTurboM3 No, its not 8 psi. its 4 psi because its is a V8, so both sides are isolated. Each side IS running at 4 psi. If it was a sequential twin turbo, then it would be close to 8 psi, but its not sequential, so its 4 psi.

However, on your statement, even for a sequential setup, 4 psi at the intake manifold is 4 psi total. I owned a few different sequential setups, for instance on my rx7 fd, your gauges reads 10 psi at the intake manifold, it is making 10 psi total.

you people are missing the point. we run the car at 4 psi ON THE DYNO. because the dyno WILL ONLY HOLD 1200 HP. On the track we have run so far only 12 psi and have gone 225 mph in the standing mile. we will soon run 25 psi and see what she will do.
So again, the low boost numbers are for the dyno. You gain nothing by making dyno pull after dyno pull just to get a big number.
that is for sissys, we turn the power up on the track, not to show off how cool we are standing still..

Not to mention dyno's generally do not force as much air into the intake manifold, as the velocity and inertia of air when you are actually moving at said 225 mph. Seems very logical to keep the boost low on dyno, and raise it once on the asphalt where the engine can keep cooler with the proper air coming in. Beautiful build
