High Hopes Slide Solo - Pink Floyd

I have a question for you :) Again great job on the solo btw.

I m trying to play a little melody i wrote using my slide. My problem is that i can hear the rest of the strings as i slide only on the G. I try to mute the with my palm but i still hear them. I had the silly idea to remove the rest of the strings exept G just to record my melody. I don't hear that noise when you play though. Any tips on that? I hope i made sense. Ty :)

I cant get anything to sound good for this solo on midi. The best Ive found is "string ensemble 1" Out of about 150 midi instruments there is no steel guitar.

Furthermore, I love Gilmour as a person and as a musician but I hate when someone alters a song even if its their own. The original was done on steel guitar by Richard wright as far as I know. A steel guitar does tho solo better. David couldnt hit all the notes on his lap guitar.

Each one has its own opinion about things, in this case you think it sounds better on a steel guitar and you say this dude plays even better then Gilmour, i completely disagree, i do think it sounds much better on a lap guitar and that this dude can only dream to become close to guitar player David is...end of story =)

No, its not the end. :)) Because thats not what I said. I didnt say he was better than Gilmour. On this one peice Gilmour did not do the same solo live on lap guitar as the original and even missed some of my favorite high notes. Either he wanted to ad lib or couldnt hit the notes on the lap guitar. This guy hit all the notes and played them perfectly like the original. The only difference is the the steel pedal has a clearer and smoother sound. Gilmour on pedal Guitar does hit all the notes

Superb man. I think if you're not using a lap steel on this tune, it sounds best with humbuckers vs single coil. You killed on it and the transitions from one passage to the next was ultra smooth. I'll use yours as a training video for me when I start to tackle this great Gilmour song.

Thankx Man, so i'll tell you a secret, this solo don't demand an expert guitar player... I'd learned to play this solo in a afternoon... I'd never played guitar this way before and it's soh easy... The only dificult is the slide sensibility to change from note to note, but you get it in a fell hours... Don't give up... begin playing, bye!

O som da guitarra mistura-se com o som da gravação. Há ligaduras (com aqueles "arrastões gilmourianos") e alguns vibratos que soam mas não são vistos. As notas estão certas, indubitavelmente. Mas tenho dúvidas quanto aos vibratos e "arrastões", que são as coisas mais difíceis de se reproduzir na música. Tenta gravar o som da guitarra sem o acompanhamento, usa um fone para te guiar. Daí, posso dar uma opinião mais precisa.
