@brandonhughes7 you can't use google sketch, but you can use gmax... it is 100% free, but remember that you can't use blitzkreig, so you must use BlueStreak JMS model exporter or chimp...

I have so many problems on vista with this, I saved HEK PLUS on my computer. I tried to run install but i need framework net 1. blabla and so im installing framework 2 because installing framework 4 changed nothing. its camtasia, you can see the little red/green flashing icon on the start bar over by the right corner, im pretty sure thats version 5, cause 6 has a different icon. also, you can download a 30 day trial from their site

Gmax is an older version of 3ds Max (V4 I guess) so the UI is very similar to the current 3ds Max just that it has less features.

If you have read the comments before you would have read that I said "You can use any type of editing software that saves in .tif. But if you use paint your textures WILL not look good." Just download GIMP if your going to make textures. It's free and easy to use.

Yes, although it doesn't have the capabilities as GIMP (A Free mimic of Photoshop). In this tutorial you use alpha channels to differentiate between grass and dirt. You wouldn't be able to do that in paintshop.
