  • I bought a male and a female cold hardy kiwi but I think I read it can take up to 8 years before they will start growing fruit. I don't know if I'm that patient.

  • @NewEnglandgardening Lol, I'm not that patient either... just doing it for fun I guess. Hope this time around it doesn't fail. Thanks for the comment :D!

  • That's a bummer! Now I know what to do once mine sprouts.... when they actually sprout... Thanks for the tips!

  • @MyInspiredCreation Yup it's all a learning process lol. You're welcome.

  • Aww, that really stinks. Sorry to hear that - but it's good that you've learned so much about growing kiwis already ^_^ Trial and errors makes a better gardener so you're already an awesome one ^_^

  • @4GreenEarth2 Thank you!

  • Yes be patient, i have some growing that are 6 inches tall, and there are still little ones popping up all around it... the germinate slowly some of them, and a heating mat helps them speed up ALOT! seeing they are a tropical plant they love the soil to be warm... ill soon do a video on mine which one is about 3 ft tall now :) I have mine under a t8 grow light 14 hours a day and they seem to love it so not sure if i agree about the shade... either way keep at it, they'll come!

  • @GardenNewbie Thank you so much for your comment, I appreciate it. Your sister Guenivere (4GreenEarth2) said they don't like direct sunlight too and I just realized this is true because it is only after I had them on the window sill that they started to die. I will be patience but Kiwifruit seedlings are very fragile.

  • @5Language Weird!!! maybe its outdoor sunlight or something... lol, I had mine on my growlights and they were doing awsome. Then i moved them by a window as well, and they started to wilt! i had to move em back to the lights and now they r doing fine again... peculiar!

  • @GardenNewbie Lol, see I told you ;D!

  • They grow better in the shade, go easy on the water, save seeds, and they take a month to germinate. Thank you for sharing with us. Videos like this that show what not to do helps people as much as videos that show how to do it..........Paula

  • @Allen2045 Thank you so much for your feedback... I really appreciate this comment.
