I have a doubt, I notice that the Virgin Mary in the apparitions in Medugorje doesnt mention that we should pray for the pope, as in previous apparitions in other places, approved by the Catholic church. I used 2 feel the same way. think of it this way: Mary told St. Bernadette 'I am the Immaculate Conception' that had 2 fall in line with the churchs teachings otherwise the apparitions would be questionable. Our Lady of Medj isnt done speaking to the visionaries so Im sure the church is hesitant because they dont know what else she might say. they dont want to condone something that has potential to be false. But they support Medj atm cuz of the many conversions coming out of it

But it wouldn't make a lot of sense to approve an apparition still going on, because there would still be the possibility of the apparition changing its message to something false after the church supposedly "endorsed" it. I believe in Medjugorje and Mirjana apparitions. But this apparition wasn´t in front of the sun, In this time, the apparition ocurred in the Cenacolo Community tottaly closed. Regarding the August 2 apparition, yes I hope to post a video of that this week. It actually illustrates the insensitivity of Mirjana to the sun even more than this video! But it also captures the response of the crowd to the "miracle of the sun" which occured during it.

Not conclusive at all. First of all, her pupil does dialate at about 1.51. Secondly, depends on the angle of the sun. If it's at a 45 degree angle, there would be no direct impact anyway.

One of the incredible things that can be seen in any one of Mirjana's apparitions is that her eyes do not react to flashes from cameras even in this video you can see the iris does not react to change from shadow to intense light from the sun. The tears on the statue are certainly not to be ignored, but the point of the video is to illustrate Mirjana's lack of reaction to the sun when the shadow slides away from her eye. A quote from an earlier response:

Read "Miracle Detective" written by one of the editors of Rolling Stones Magazine. The entire story is very compelling. She (and others) have had these visions since 1981 & have been scientifically tested over and over and over again by several scientists while in the vision state. They could find no explanation for their findings nor could they see how what they found was physically possible. I am normally a skeptic. After reading the book and seeing this I believe we are witnessing a miracle.

IF these apparitions were not of the Holy Spirit, the fruits would be bad and people would be leaving the church. But the fact that many people have returned to the church speaks volumes. If you want proof that Mary appears on earth, read up on Fatima. 70,000 people gathered and witnessed the "miracle of the sun". Apparently then she doesn't agree with the bible that revenge is for God only (a bizarre concept in itself).

Yes I have read the content of the Medjugorie message. Not just some of it either. I don't understand how you can say something of that nature is from hell unless you are already in some sense biased against the catholic religion. I am agnostic and even I find that you are speaking out of a presuppositional stance without considering all the evidence.

That's flimsy evidence. If this were court, the case would be thrown out. Her eyes were never in direct sunlight for more than 1 second. Even if they were, the sun could be shining from the flanks. The shadow was conveniently blocking most of the time. At the end, her eyes were looking straight up, which would avert direct exposure. The shadow couldn't have been someone in front, he/she would have to be 10 feet tall.

If we are going to be talking about evidence, can I just draw your attention to the video which shows Mirjana's left eye looking directly into the sun at 1min 45sec through to 2min 9sec. A bit longer than '1sec'. But the duration is not the issue. Mirjana's 'indifference' to the changes from sun to no sun is the thing to note.

May so, but that still doesn't mean the sun is direct. You can tell by the shadows behind, the sun is to the left. Her pupils dialate with increased light, which can hardly be called indifference. There's no objective reason why her pupils would not be indifferent either.

Uncomfortable she could have been... but blind she would now be. Staring into that strength of sun (especailly for that length of time) will permanently damage your retina. As this has apparently not occurred, there must be an alternative explanation. Gus

I was wondering what was the dark shadow covering her face from the sun? Was it the virgin mary statue I saw at the end of the video? Also does anyone know why the virgin mary appears daily at Medjugorje, than any other country?

The shadow is being made by a person standing in front of her. The statue at the end is of Our Lady.

Yes, on the original video from which this is taken, the tears on the statue are clearer. I remeber being surprised to see no reference to this on the Medjugorje web sites. The apparition is that of the 2nd January, 2005.
