  • Hi, was this the CT Guided sinus surgery? My fiance had regular sinus surgery?) LAST july, and he has been worse. Today the doctor referred him to a specialist, you seem alot better than the way he felt. He was basically down for 2 weeks. He had packing in his nose, and was very swollen. and in much pain. He doesnt want to go through thsi again, but im reading that ct guided is less invasive. Any input would be appreciated thank you.

  • They gave me Tylenol with codeine, what a crock of shit. I want the hard stuff!!!

  • dude you are funny

    Thanks

  • Can u breath through your nose or do u have breath through your mouth?

  • thank you, i have as you said "quickly be able to breath through" the nose. thank you for the message i am glad. i can finally breathe.

  • i just had the surgery on friday, the plints were just removed today. when are you actual able to start breathing through your nose? i have swelling and bleeding, i am still mouth breathing. although i have a face mask to filter some of the air. my mouth is still dry.

  • @monexmeldrick You'll quickly be able to breath through your nose. You'll be better before you know it! do u use the rinse?

  • the doc said that some times the polyps regrow. there is nothing they can do about it. The surgeon who did it this time says that he has only had to redo the surgery on one person in 10 years. I told him that I would see him in 2 years. I have chronic sinusitis with nasel polyps. I am like 3 months from surgery, and feel pretty dam good. I took lots of percocet for 2 weeks after surgery and feel great. If they offer surgery take it, it really cant hurt long term. feel better short term.

  • i just my results back from the doc and i have bilateral ethmoid sinuses. the sinus headaches a started july 2010. would you recommed surgery? and i have a question what kind of sinus problem did you have exactly and how do you feel now in 2010 after the surgery? have you had another surgery lately for the sinus problem?

  • i just had it done yesterday morning. pain wise, its tolerable with pain killers and all but the pressure in my nose is what driving me crazy. i cant sleep and even if i do manage to sleep, i would wake up an hour or two later with my mouth all dried up. the dripping of blood and muscus is annoying too. kept wanting to blow my nose even tho ikno i cant. man, this feeling really sucks. but hey, no pain, no gain and hopefully things will get better in another day or two

  • I have really bed asthma, which helps lead to the polyps, I also develpoed allegies to asperin and ibuprophen(advil), and pennecillin. The pen allergy gives me hives and put me in the hospital for 3 days and the advil allergy has progressed to annaphalactic (sp?) shock. the allergys developed while i lived in NYC, the first time that the advil allergy was bad I puked white foam all over a subway car (the #7 line) and the conductor called the cops on me!

  • your vid makes me laugh, I have had the surgery 3 times in 10 years and getting ready for another. looking at it reminds me of what i have to look forward to. btw the first time i woke up in the middle of the surgery and blew chunks all over the doc and the equipment and everything. cant wait for that experience again

  • @1971chefjeff why do you keep having to have the surgery?

  • @1971chefjeff i dont understand. why is that people have to get these surgerys often. cant the first surgery fix it all?

  • Can you actually have your voice sound different from when it was not stuffy coz mine sounds all fugly.. How was the Anesthesia honestly i'm wicked scared im not really scared but i am from that crap lol

  • i jus got mien done, tell me how long after i can start consuming alcohol

  • @alipersian4life hala aragh sagi hal kon ,ta bad

  • plastic tampons xDDDDD the dr. sucked my clots out with a hose n.n I hope you feel better hun :( my question is. . . do . . . you . . . like. . . to . . . DANCE

  • i'm haveing the surgery on wednesday... i'm so much more freaked out about this one than my knee surgeries

  • I have had chronic sinusitis for the past 15 years of my life! (I am fixing to be 19) I am considering having reconstructive surgery. My aunt had to have reconstruction and she said the sinusitis went away for a couple years but then came back just as bad. I don't know whether it's worth going through the procedure.

  • I go in to have my septum and sinus's fixed today, actually in just a few hours. I have had a sinus infection and been dizzy for 6 months. I know its needs to get done but I am scared. Need to be at the doc's office in 2 and a half hours so I guess I don't get to sleep tonight. Thanks for the video nice to have an idea what maybe to expect

  • hey how did it go?

  • here we are almost a week after surgery. Still have some head aches off and on. Little sweaty, ear pain and low energy not sure if you had any of that or not. For me the most pain full part was when they removed the packing from my nose

  • im glad it went ell :) I remember my second week was the worst because of the headachs but then it got much better

  • I am on day 5 now and the only thing sucks is that I cant do sports, go to the gym, drink or party.I am just fucking stuck right here waiting till it gets better, but hey if you are planning to do any nasal surgery, go for it it is not really bad, just boring, and a little pain :)

  • I am on day 4 of endoscopic sinus surgery with a rhino plasty as well to fix my septum and hump on my nose... I have so much pain between my eye brows . Did you have this . It feel like someone is is lighltly tacking the area with a hammer ,way uncomfortable. have you gone back to hav e teh packing removed yet? I go tomorrow. I still am wearing the mustache ,and the tubes keep letting blood down. so annoying . mouth... anyways.. glad to see i am not the only one.

    peace

  • hey yeah ive had the packing out, i had the surgery almost a year ago now. haha The pain between your eye brows are probably mostly from the packing actually. I remember when i had it removed thats where i felt the most relief. I know it is very uncomfortable but it gets better. Your head is going to hurt for a couple weeks because it's healing. But it'll get better day by day!

  • I must have a REALLY severe deviation because I rarely can ever breath at night anyways.... I have to have water beside my bed at all times because I will wake up with my tounge feeling like a sponge... yup it sucks... Not only do I have a deviation but I have some pretty nasty growths of something in there... NASTY! I am so ready to get this surgery done but I am super super nervous!! Thanks for the post it gave me a good peace of mind!! :)

  • Ah thanks,

that septum sounds like a pain. Its worth going through like two weeks of soreness and aches and fix the problem then always having it there bugging you. hope it goes well.

  • I'm on day 2 too. I can relate to what he's saying almost identically. I'm no pill popper, but the pills I was given to take are something. Throat feels dry and sore. Lots of clot forming in maxillary and nasty thick bloody drip in throat. I notice the lack of sleep too. I can sleep max 5.5 hours the last 2 nites. My 6th sinus surgery. I'm planning on following dr's orders this time. Looking forward to seeing him and getting clots removed. Peace

  • its good to listen to your doctor hah

  • I'm on day two of recovery and can't believe how clear and sharp my head feels now. Only problem is that after sneezing one of the packings came out. On call doc said should be okay, but I don't know cuz my doc wanted them in for 5 days.

  • i just got this surgery it`s very a noise this is my first day what do you think i sure do 2 sleep better tonight by the way i look just like you did when you had your surgery a mess would you like to give me some tips please thanks a lot

  • haha you're saying i look like a mess!? jk. dont worry you'll feel better soon. sleeping was a pain the first few nights i remember. all i can suggest is taking medicine and just staying strong i promise it'll get better.

  • did it hurt a lot like right after u got the surgery? i have to get it this summer

  • um actually no, i wasnt in a lot of pain after surgery because 1. the pain killers they give you 2. you're body is tired from anastesia.

  • oh okay cool i was kinda freakin out about that thanks

  • my mom walked in and was like what are you doing lol my momma does lol

  • did u have lots of dried up blood in your nose im on day 3 and my nose if filled with dry blood if u did i just want to know how did u get it out or did it just fall out after a while?

  • I did have dried up blood, for the "rosebuds" i would get around my nostrils i used hydrogen peroxide on a que tip to just get that to dissolve. But as for the rest, i just used the sinus rinse they gave me, and that'll get everything moving. You'll have so much stuff come out your head you won't believe it was up there.

  • oh yeh another question lol when did u start using sinus rinse cause i dont want to use it while i still have stiches up there if u know what i mean do u reckon it will be ok to use i am on day 6 :)

  • hmmm did u doctor give you one? I had my sugery on a thursday, that monday i went to the doctor to have my stints out, and that is when they gave me my rinse and told me to start using it. I believe the stitches were still up there because my stitches were dissolvable. It should be fine, just don't blow your nose hard.

  • ok thanks ill give it a shot :)

  • did it hurt to get your stints removed?

  • not really, there was pressure for a moment but considering everything else, it was fine.

  • Just had my surgery day before yesterday. Not much pain afterwards. Woke up with no packs, but do have stents in each nostril to keep everything nice and straight. Feels like I have a cold (stuffy) and it took about one full day for the bleeding to stop. Using a warm sinus rinse with baking soda and sodium... highly recommended... cleans out the gunk and feels soothing... make sure you use distilled water btw!

    Thanks for posting...

  • HEY IM GETTING MINE DONE ON THE 18TH OF SEPTEMBER, IM HAVING SINUS SURGERY, SEPTUM STRAIGHTNING AND SUMTHING TO DO WITH MY TURBINES!!LOL IM SHITTING MYSELF!!! bUT I CANT WAIT FOR THE OUTCOME!

  • I have to get this done on sept 19,and i am so scared,is it as bad as I am thinking about, please reply because I am so ready to postpone it.

  • hey thanks for your reply. Honestly it depends on how bad your sinuses are. It probably isn't as bad as you think it is, i was very scared too. I wont lie, The first week after surgery is hell You're in a lot of pain (but you dont realize it because of your meds) for the first 3 days. You can't breath clearly cuz its all clogged up.

  • I was freaking out that something was wrong or if i was dieing or something. But honestly after they remove the stints and such, it gets better. 2 weeks after my sugery, i was back at the gym running and lifting weights. Now about 3 weeks later i feel pretty much 100% and i can breath better. Overall it's not a pain just the first week, so it depends on weather u think ur sinuses will benefit. You have bad headachs at first but it gets better.

  • I am a little disapointed though because although my sinuses were extremely bad, i felt fine. So although my sinuses are now all clear i feel basicly as i did before, but i breath a bit better. Just make sure your doctor has a good history with this stuff

  • thanks for the boost , I am going to go through with it,I will tune in with you after it is over,to let you know how it went ,hopefully I will live through it ,if I don't die from a panic attack on the way to the hospital. thanks for answering

  • haah its just sinus surgery, it could be a lot worse.

  • i know i am feeling a little bit braver now ,I will still be happy when sept 19 comes and goes.

  • Does it change the shape>?

  • Yes.. It is spongy and soft after the surgery. Thanks for asking

  • The packing is what bothers me. Not being able to nose breath. How long does the packing stay in for? Did you have to go back to the docs to have it taken out?

  • Hey, yeah the packing was annoying, although i didnt get all the packing in i just got some, im not sure why they didn't put the usual amount in. The doctor took it out the Monday after my surgery, which was on a thursday. It felt really weird and good coming out. Try to keep them in there until your doc takes them out, they're keeping everything in place.

  • ok so look,... i am going the 4th to set up the date for my surgery. I have to say I am SSOOOO scared!! I had my tonsils out a couple of years ago, and it was HELL. What was the worst part so far?! Thanks for posting this!

  • Yeah, thanks for watching it! i gotta post an update, its been 5 days since the surgery. I'm feeling much better, although not 100% but theres light at the end of the tunnel. The worse thing for me is---i got a virus somehow at the same time so i have like a cold and post surgery pain. Your sinuses will feel like crap for a few days, alot of pressure. That's probably the worst part, along with the feeling of being weak. but after a few days it gets better although it seems like forever.
