A bed of Silver that the water should run over for ten seconds to purefy it before going out to be repulled back in to drink from. Colloidal Silver. And the surgine's there tools are of silver because it kills, bacterial, fungus's, virus's, and parasite’s. Every thing that harms goodness, if you know what I mean.
Another simple solution but very efficient is called the Baleen Filter, a unique non-pressured low energy way to treat effluents, check the videos here on You Tube.
First of all is this a large or a small city plant and how many plants do big cities such as new York have?
Second, is this process healthy for the enviorment or not.
Third can those process be upgrated, can it be modified in order to be more perfect.
And third, how much does the US goverment spend on enviormental projects every year per budget in percent, why are they spending more money on war rather than green projects???
The Bligh ministerial team are a bunch of wine-lunch buffoons. They are incompetent and useless. Look to their combined uselessness and the total waste of the wealth of Queensland. Smart card drivers license started in 2003 – costs so far $12,000,000 wasted. The Health payroll system – total incompetence – costs so far $210,000,000 wasted. Corrupt ministers – e.g. Gordon Nuttall. This government is useless, yet the REDNECK Queenslanders keep voting these imbeciles in time and time again.

Cant humanity shitt outside like the old times? This seems highly destructive to our environment. If elimination took place outside at least the the cold and heat would destroy it very quickly! It would save alot of money and most importantly the environment too!
@climaxjump69 I'm not sure, perhaps if they burn it at a high temperature, there would be less emissions. The problem is that the CO2 claim is made by corrupt politicians like Al Gore who have mutual gain from Cap and Trade.
oh god i just watched Mike Rowe Clean one of those collection wells on Dirty Jobs. it was by far the nastiest thing I have ever seen. There was one shot of a used condom sitting on a pile of crap it was awful. It really does make every other job look like a dream. lol
it does. my class had a field trip to one and it was so gross. the people wouldnt let us turn around. my buddy threw up and the girls were cryin. it sucked! lol
elmamon26, if you are studying for the B wastewater you need to have your rules and regs memorized and go over the finer points of extended aeration process in detail. Record keeping is a big part of the test and laboratory procedures also. Be able to read a pump curve and also make sure your math skills are good. You will almost certainly get questions on oxidation ditches and have to convert a volume of treatment into acre-feet. questions about facultative bacteria also. Good Luck!!!
mrrshotshot, I'm not certain what my license grade is equal to in Cal., your first license in Texas is a 'D' and the highest is an 'A'. I am working on my 'B' water license and studying for my 'A' wastewater license. The 'A' water or wastewater test requires written essays and a LOT of studying.
Oh yea, I just took my grade 3 which has essays and stuff. Im gearing up for my grade 4 in october... beleive me, i kno about the tons of studying involved haha
In case you're wondering, I hold a class B wastewater license in the state of Texas, 13 years experience in the industry, I'm currently a water district board representative for a private company. Europe depends on too many chemicals to treat their wastewater if this plant is a true representation of the norms there. We tend to avoid adding too many chems, they end up in the drinking water sooner or later. I need to make a video.
This is simply a primary treatment plant, which was the norm in America before the growth of the EPA etc. I don't think it's fit to compare a primary treatment plant with a secondary or tertiary plant...
This plant is a poor representation of the wastewater treatment process used in America. If you saw the water my plants produce, you would think you are looking at a swimming pool. Proper treatment can easily produce better water that what is already in the receiving stream. This plant uses too many chemicals such as polymers to do what an extended aeration process can do to the same biosolids, all that is left is chlorination/dechlorination in my plants with no added chemicals.
You have to thank those engineer to do this kind of stuff. Earth is getting sick because we human are producing shit and not recycling the this shit before dumping the water to sewage or river. Please appreciate and honour their job. I am a WWT engineer and must admit that WWT is not a perfect job and in fact demanding job.
Reducing the suspended solids by only 80% is not good enough - private sewage treatment plants reduce them by 95% and what about the BOD and ammoniacal nitrogen?
NH3 is mandated to be less than 3 mg/l in my plant. Biochemical Oxygen Demand is so low that fish swim in the effluent of my facility. Here's the process; remove the plastic waste and grease that the microorganisms can't treat, aerate the basins at 2 to 4 mg/l oxygen, employ a settling tank to draw off the sludge and chlorinate/dechlor your final effluent. Low BOD, low TSS, very, very clean. The water is almost drinkable, so clean you want to swim in it in the summer. 6mg/l oxy at outfall.
I just recently started my new wastewater treatment job and I love it. you just to fool around a bit and try to improve the quility or your water its so much fun
