Stop talking nonsense - Laver is so short , no way he can have a chance in today's game ! He is a legend and was amazing in his years , but today's game is just very different !
anyone realise Roddick have such a late swing? he pulls back the moment before he hits the ball....how does he ever gonna get any power like rog and rafa?
rod laver was amazing no doubt...but it is true that sports and the athletes that play them improve as time and sciences improve. runners today...black and white...run faster because modern training allows for it. tennis is no different
This statement is foolish. Obviously a man who won the GRAND SLAM twice could play today. Obviously he would have better training methods and he would have a modern racket if he played now. Also, 3 of th grand slams were on grass but the French was still on clay. Great players are great players and that is why Sampras use to watch films and tapes of Laver!
Andre really has a deep understanding of the game, his thinking is so far ahead of most of us. He is so humble even in defeat. He really is a true legend and one of the greatest to play the game.
@bjarktron Andre learned that from his Coach Brad Gilbert who schooled Andre on "junk" play and not hitting so hard to some people. Gilbert's book on tennis is why Andre interviewed him for a job as his coach.
Good point at 1:06. That's how McEnroe beat Connors. He never hit a hard shot to him, because Jimmy loved a flat hard shot to smash back. Give him a little slice to the side, and he hated that.
I'd love to see the guys of the modern day have to play with the wooden racquets of the past (I really wouldn't, it would probably be terrible). I think the guys back in the day don't get enough respect for how good they were. Modern day players and the players of yesterday are both damn good. Why don't people stop comparing them since technology and information confounds the argument and makes it nearly impossible to debate objectively?

@TennisAnnalyst Yea I see Nadal do that a lot. I've never seen someone hit so many easy forehand winners than Nadal is doing right now. The game is just too easy for him right now. It's almost unfair to the ATP, the guy is almost unbeatable.
Wow that s cool. What i like the most here is that he talks with a low voice, and during intense rally he quits speaking. Once the point is decided, he comes back and speaks again. Not to metion what he says, which are constructive, informative commentaries, pretty rare. :D

This is Nadal's last year at #1. If Fed doesn't reclaim Murray's the man. People that don't know tennis think Nadal will be around for a long time. His game is too physical, takes a toll on his body.
The ATP Tour takes a toll on the body, especially if you're a top player making it deep into every tournament. Nadal is learning to dictate points more, take shots earlier, he's way more offensive than he was even two years ago. As his youthful athleticism begins to fade, I think his game is evolving enough to keep him in the top 3 for a long long time. Not just his monster forehand, but his backhand is incredibly underrated. It's rock solid. And his point construction is sick.
I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Many have said that Nadal's grip would keep him from being great on the grass, and that he can't win on the hard courts. His game has gotten a lot cleaner, and he has become more efficient in both his movement and groundstrokes.
Unfortunately his groundstrokes require him to make such a corkscrew buggy-whip motion that his shoulder and elbow will soon crumble like his knees. His constant chasing of every ball will prevent his knees from ever being 100%.
He lost to Hewitt and Wawrinka in the tune-ups not because he was hurt, but because he's now afraid of re-injuring the knees. It's mental.
Like a 'feel' player in golf: once they lose that, there's no fundamentals to fall back on. His shotmaking isn't good enough.
Agassi, please answer me this you idiot.Nadal is destroying Federer so what about your biased crap about Federer being the GOAT.Guess what?Nadal won wimbledon last year.
You really are a brainless retard, lol.Age has nothing to do with it???Fuck, how can nadal win 13 slams with 22 when fed pussy couldn't win 6 with the same age, loool. You are a joke fucking brit.I enjoyed to see that pussy crying like a bitch.

10 consecutive Grand Slam men's singles finals, most consecutive wins on both grass courts (65) and hard courts (56), only one tennis player to win 3 times 3 Slam tourneys in the same year in the Open era., most consecutive weeks as n.1 (237), 5 consecutive times Wimbledon winner (only 2 players, him and Borg), 5 consecutive US Open (only one in Open era). Only one in HISTORY to win 2 slams for 5 consecutive years. Yeah, he is a pussy...lol.
Thats just the point, you dont, they all develop at different times. Look at Becker, he was 17 when he won. Again you have just proved how stupid you are. Nadal might never win another slam. Fed's is fact NOW. Yours is just a pipe dream untl he does it. which he has not.
Bet you feel a silly prick now dont you whts the excuse "his knees hurt" change the record h didnt even make the second week and pulled out fo wimbledon plus he was a early bloomer and looks to be screwed royally cause of his playing, federer was a late bloomer but has had liek what 3 injuries in his career
You are a fucking loser, aren't you?lol Nadal can still win US open this year,so maybe you should STFU,coz in the end at the same age Nadal still owns federer loool.
how does he? he plays his best tennis for like a eyar, then he has to take a load of time off. he's now number 4 in the world. fed hasnt gone outside the top 2 in like.....6/7 years
Right so federer wins the french opne something sampras very even got close to umm and he wasnt number one for 6 years he was trading with it all thsoe times. Federer was bnumber one for four and half years without dropping it. and if he wins wimbledon eh reclaims it
Yes, anyone with a bit of common sense including most of the champions know how good Federer is. Just a few brainless idiots who do stupid comparisions on age......I mean....age...gezzzz. Sometimes its best to just ignore them.
Laver didnt win 14 grand slam titles and none of the slams were on clay when he was playing. And honestly does anyone believe that if the two men actually played in their prime that Laver could defeat Federer. Athletes improve as time goes on. Anyone in the top 100 today could probably defeat Laver. Laver was great in his time but he wouldnt stand a chance today.
The French was on clay. I think the rest was grass. Imagine how many Slams Fed and Sampras would have won if 3 of the 4 Slams were on grass. I agree with the rest. Laver was a fabulous tennis talent, a true legend, but the game is just too physical today.
Athletes do NOT improve as time goes on. What they do with the technology, and the information from athletics' past is what creates the illusion of improvement.
Oh yeah, and so many of today's athletes are on some form of performance enchancement probably helps too.
Not that Roger or Rafa are, but I'd wager if you gave the 'old time' players today's equipment and training regiment they would be equally as competitive.
That being said, Federer is still the greatest ever.
That's total bullshit. Making blanket statements between wildly different tennis eras (or any sport) is better left to children and piss-tank bar patrons. Laver one two slams, Graf won one since and that's it. Great players, different eras, bravo for great tennis through the decades and shut the fuck up.
Just watch videos of older matches. Guys are noticeably bigger and faster today. When Lendl started doing off court stuff, that's all people wrote about, how he cross trained and watched every bit of food he ate. That's very normal today. The athleticism in tennis has undeniably improved on the ATP tour over the years.
Vids of older matches -- you mean the ones without the avalanche of technologies and visual tricks we get on television today? Your view is a bit clouded, just like the people who said Laver would have decimated Tllden, Sampras over Borg etc etc. Atheticism doesn't win slams, strong tennis does. And you think athleticism started with Lendl?? Borg had the slowest heart rate on the tour. Was he a slacker? The game hasn't been reinvented, Federer just came along and played it better.
What avalanche of technology. Just watch the speed of shot, the speed of movement. It's nothing to take personally, world records have been steadily breaking as time progresses. It's a combination of superior understanding of training, metabolism, recovery, the body in general, and in tennis also stroke mechanics, but not just that, it's more money in sports attracting more people, and with a greater gene pool, the athleticism required to reach the top is greater.
What I mean is more people are trying to become pros. The ATP tour is more athletic today. Every player, coach, and commentator agrees. Really, just LOOK at the players today, and look at the players of the 60's and 70's and 80's. What is debatable is whether or not tennis is "better" today. Point construction is definitely not as sophisticated as it was when people learned with wooden rackets.
@ChaunceyDos Very true. If those greats of the past had what these guys had today, in today's time, it would be naive to think that they wouldn't be better too. Times change and although the game is the same, technology puts a big twist on things, not only from an equipment stand point, but also in terms of training, resources, etc etc. The guys of the past were still the best in the world, signifying that in those times, they were the cream of the crop.
Borg didn't have the slowest heart rate on the tour, that's just a gossip, even Borg himself once stated he didn't have the faintest idea who actually started it
Laver was smoking cigars, Gonzales was addicted to cigarettes, Newcombe drank whisky, McEnroe's diet consisted of ice creams - Lendl's attitude toward off court practice and fitness really changed the game
it doesn't mean that the tennis itself is better now few player since Laver could actually play as brilliant as Rockhampton Rocket
@Swissmaestro1 the french open has always been a clay court event. When laver won his 2 grand slams, none of the events were on hardcourt, only grass and clay.
@Swissmaestro1 Laver could have won over 20 major titles, hadn't he been professional from 63 to 68. He was better than Emerson who dominated the majors in those years. It makes no sense to compare the two. The racquet size was smaller, the game was more about pure skills and wit than power and speed. Laver won the grand slam twice. Nobody has ever since.
actually, Laver shared a big part of the Pro Slams in 1963-1967 with Rosewall so it's not like he dominated, 8 for Laver and 7 for Rosewall exactly, if you add all the Slams and Pro Slams won by Rod you get 19 BUT, 5-6 Slams Laver won pre 1963 are almost worthless cause he faced only amateurs
@Swissmaestro1 finally a sensible comment on youtube, all I ever read is "LOL You are all stupid, Lendl and McEnroe are GODS, federer is just lucky that they're gone!"
@Swissmaestro1 I totally disagree. If Laver was in this era, and had access to the technology, fitness, and understanding that the players have today, he would most definitely dominate because talent, heart and mental toughness isn't something you learn- you have it or you don't. To say someone from the top 100 would win is ridiculous. The only difference between a top 100 player and a top 10 is mental toughness - period. Laver would have that...end of story.
I disagree, it was a very different era of tennis where tennis was played in a very different fashion. Because of the technological improvements and generations of tennis players, the game play has now taken a different form. With Laver's dominance back in the day, I'd be confident to say if he still was in his prime today he could learn and keep up with today's tennis.
Also, Laver played before the open era. Before 1968 they separated the amateur and pro league players. The four grand slam tournaments they count today were only in the amateur league. Laver won all four as an amateur in 1962, but became pro the following year. All championships he won as a pro are strangely not counted apart of his grand slam count. Laver won 11 grand slam tournaments and 8 pro league slam tournaments.. really his count should be 19 slam tournaments.
@Swissmaestro1 who told u laver didn't win slams on clay court?who won the French Open in 1962 and 1969?,do some research before u type those words down and yeah if federer was playing in laver's era federer wouldn't have stood a chance, this coming from a federer supporter.
Eh, don't know about that. Agassi played against tougher competition for the majority of his career. Imagin if Fed had to contend with Doko and Nadal for most of his career.
I think they all had their demons, remember Federer didnt always play to the level he plays now, he came through the wars and he played Agassi, remember Agassie won 5 of his 8 titles after the age of 28.

mark my words, nadal is one of the all time greatest in the making! he is beating federer when fed is at his peak, now rafa is just about to hit his 5 or 6 years of peak! nadal used to be the best playin in a higher age group in spain and he cleaned up everyone in spain, then he cleaned up everyone in the european champs, now he is cleaning everyone up in the world! and he is just getting better! he won on all surfaces too. u haters can only hope his knees gives out or he burns out!
@PinaMarina Okay. Nadal less than Federer I can agree to a certain extent. Nadal less than Djokovic is blasphemous. It makes completely NO SENSE. Novak's a good player, but come on. Let's not be delusional.
I agree with Nadal being a great player, but his game relies heavily on speed and power, and those are things that you lose quickly when aging. He'll be on top as long as his physical condition is perfect, but, unlike Fed who can count on an exquisite technique, therefore being competitive even if not in his physical top shape, he'll fall down quickly when he gets older.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I disagree. I think Federer relies as much as nadal on power and speed. The only difference is that nadal makes noise and fed doesnt. Nadal rushes with short strides while federer glides with long steps both require extreme fitness. though federer has more shots so to say.
there is not a single player apart from nadal and monfils who can match federer fitness wise.
It is medically proved that a normal human being reaches peak strength, stamina, muscle fibre, bone density(bone mass) in any age between 28-35. its just that ppl get smarter as they age and they dont wana grind out results.
Agassi was at the end of that range. Fed looks like at the start of that limit. Dont know where Nadal would peak but even if nadal peaks at the earliest moment , say like 28, then still he has another 6 years of raw power left in him in which he can win 6 FO n min 5 wimbe.
That's true, but you are considering a normal athlete who doesn't overuse his body.
What i'm saying is that the way Nadal plays, involving a lot of muscular strenght, may shorten his career of a few years, resulting in him losing his peak shape very quickly.
Even if Fed has already reached his top shape, by not abusing his body he can still slow down the unavoidable shape loss, leaving him at top for some years.
I won't be surprised if Nadal after reaching his top (28?) will fall down quickly.
I would be surprised if Nadal's body can take tha punishement it takes. it lasted 10 months last year just fending off Federer, imagine how its going to cope fending off Federer, Murrray, Monfls,Djokovic,Simone,Tsonga who all have his number. His body is strapped just now at the age of 22, I wouldnt hold my breath. I dont feel he will have a long career, 15 injuries in 6 years, not a good sign.
On a side note, as i kept saying for months, Fed is slowly regaining his best shape.
He had a lot of physical problems last year, so he wasn't able to train as usual (and he still played very well in most of the more important tournaments anyway).
Everybody started yelling he's finished, old and lots of other stupid things.
He just made a 6-3 6-0 6-0 against Del Potro (world number 6) with 12 aces, 38 winning shots, 21/25 at the net. A massacre.
People believed he was declining and didnt take into consideration the damage of being ill can do. It was too easy, as all the wins came in the year Roger was ill, it wasnt a slow decline, it was instant. I knew Roger would come back, and he has. Yes he pulled DePotro apart limb by limb, how wonderful.......lol
Again, i agree. His shape will start declining some day, and i know he's no more a teenager, but i think he can still play at his top for no less then 3-4 years.
He is not just talented. He is a very serious professional which always trains accurately, and those kind of athletes usually have longer careers then those who are less regular and serious.
Also, the fact he has an amazing technique will help his playing style even if he gets slower and less powerful with time.
No Rogers style of game will allow him to continue for a while yet. Probably longer than Nadals type of game. He has very little injuries, he has looked after his body and his game allows him to keep going.
Yea me too, I think that Roger is holding the old baggage of last years, losses and comments still, he is doubting himself. There was sparks of the old Roger there, but he kept doubting himself. Im hoping that goes away in time. It was sad to see someone want something so much. But I am still sure he will get it.
That's because Nadal is in the best shape of his life and has improved his technique a little bit, too, while Federer is both physically and mentally far from his best shape.
Even this way, i didn't see Nadal "crushing" him. Crushing for me means dominating by far winning with ease, not sweating like a donkey and having to fight for every point like if your risking your life.
Nadal is just more hungry and mentally superior then Federer at the moment.
Nadal was sweating like a donkey?yeah and Fed was sweating like a pig.nadal is beating in every surface and he never owned nadal either in the past like nadal is owning him.
Andre is a great person and so is Roger. Andre has had a few incidents of losing his cool on court and has been known to swear at line judges and umpires. Nothing in McEnroe's league, of course, but Roger and Rafa today set a very high standard of gentleman-like behavior on and off the court. The new superstars are polite, humble and respectful.
honestly, who are you to judge if roger is a better human being than andre?..they are both good people,to say one is better than the other is unrealistic, fed is a better tennis player for sure, I agree with that, but as individuals you can´t compare..
I have no idea how they choose tennis commentators. Most of them are absolutely dreadful. Agassi would be great. I'm probably in the minority, but I actually like Luke Jensen. Even though he was almost yelling, he's the only guy that really talked to the hardcore fan, going into great detail about stroke mechanics and point construction.
Did Andy actually adjust his peepee at 1:18?

Yes, anyone with a bit of common sense including most of the champions know how good Federer is. Just a few brainless idiots who do stupid comparisions on age......I mean....age...gezzzz. Sometimes its best to just ignore them.
CASPER10666 2 years ago
Laver is generally considered GOAT. He was Federer's equal in tennis ability, but was much tougher mentally.
mrbobevans 2 years ago
Laver didnt win 14 grand slam titles and none of the slams were on clay when he was playing. And honestly does anyone believe that if the two men actually played in their prime that Laver could defeat Federer. Athletes improve as time goes on. Anyone in the top 100 today could probably defeat Laver. Laver was great in his time but he wouldnt stand a chance today.
Swissmaestro1 2 years ago 34
The French was on clay. I think the rest was grass. Imagine how many Slams Fed and Sampras would have won if 3 of the 4 Slams were on grass. I agree with the rest. Laver was a fabulous tennis talent, a true legend, but the game is just too physical today.
ChaunceyDos 2 years ago
Athletes do NOT improve as time goes on. What they do with the technology, and the information from athletics' past is what creates the illusion of improvement.
Oh yeah, and so many of today's athletes are on some form of performance enchancement probably helps too.
Not that Roger or Rafa are, but I'd wager if you gave the 'old time' players today's equipment and training regiment they would be equally as competitive.
That being said, Federer is still the greatest ever.

"Athletes improve as time goes on."
That's total bullshit. Making blanket statements between wildly different tennis eras (or any sport) is better left to children and piss-tank bar patrons. Laver one two slams, Graf won one since and that's it. Great players, different eras, bravo for great tennis through the decades and shut the fuck up.
Brianjonestown 2 years ago
Just watch videos of older matches. Guys are noticeably bigger and faster today. When Lendl started doing off court stuff, that's all people wrote about, how he cross trained and watched every bit of food he ate. That's very normal today. The athleticism in tennis has undeniably improved on the ATP tour over the years.
ChaunceyDos 2 years ago
Vids of older matches -- you mean the ones without the avalanche of technologies and visual tricks we get on television today? Your view is a bit clouded, just like the people who said Laver would have decimated Tllden, Sampras over Borg etc etc. Atheticism doesn't win slams, strong tennis does. And you think athleticism started with Lendl?? Borg had the slowest heart rate on the tour. Was he a slacker? The game hasn't been reinvented, Federer just came along and played it better.
Brianjonestown 2 years ago
What avalanche of technology. Just watch the speed of shot, the speed of movement. It's nothing to take personally, world records have been steadily breaking as time progresses. It's a combination of superior understanding of training, metabolism, recovery, the body in general, and in tennis also stroke mechanics, but not just that, it's more money in sports attracting more people, and with a greater gene pool, the athleticism required to reach the top is greater.
ChaunceyDos 2 years ago
"greater gene pool" ?? You lost me there. If you're going to pull eugenics in an argument about tennis past and present, I'm out.
Brianjonestown 2 years ago
What I mean is more people are trying to become pros. The ATP tour is more athletic today. Every player, coach, and commentator agrees. Really, just LOOK at the players today, and look at the players of the 60's and 70's and 80's. What is debatable is whether or not tennis is "better" today. Point construction is definitely not as sophisticated as it was when people learned with wooden rackets.
ChaunceyDos 2 years ago
@ChaunceyDos Very true. If those greats of the past had what these guys had today, in today's time, it would be naive to think that they wouldn't be better too. Times change and although the game is the same, technology puts a big twist on things, not only from an equipment stand point, but also in terms of training, resources, etc etc. The guys of the past were still the best in the world, signifying that in those times, they were the cream of the crop.
mousavsm 1 year ago
Borg didn't have the slowest heart rate on the tour, that's just a gossip, even Borg himself once stated he didn't have the faintest idea who actually started it
Laver was smoking cigars, Gonzales was addicted to cigarettes, Newcombe drank whisky, McEnroe's diet consisted of ice creams - Lendl's attitude toward off court practice and fitness really changed the game
it doesn't mean that the tennis itself is better now few player since Laver could actually play as brilliant as Rockhampton Rocket
andrewblastoff 1 year ago
@Swissmaestro1 the french open has always been a clay court event. When laver won his 2 grand slams, none of the events were on hardcourt, only grass and clay.
Currymastuh 1 year ago
@Swissmaestro1 Laver could have won over 20 major titles, hadn't he been professional from 63 to 68. He was better than Emerson who dominated the majors in those years. It makes no sense to compare the two. The racquet size was smaller, the game was more about pure skills and wit than power and speed. Laver won the grand slam twice. Nobody has ever since.
11caulfield 1 year ago
actually, Laver shared a big part of the Pro Slams in 1963-1967 with Rosewall so it's not like he dominated, 8 for Laver and 7 for Rosewall exactly, if you add all the Slams and Pro Slams won by Rod you get 19 BUT, 5-6 Slams Laver won pre 1963 are almost worthless cause he faced only amateurs
89Pleasek 9 months ago
@Swissmaestro1 finally a sensible comment on youtube, all I ever read is "LOL You are all stupid, Lendl and McEnroe are GODS, federer is just lucky that they're gone!"
bananatree1234567 11 months ago
@Swissmaestro1 you are forgetting the technology available at the time. try transporting today's athletes to back then.
flagman57 6 months ago
@Swissmaestro1 I totally disagree. If Laver was in this era, and had access to the technology, fitness, and understanding that the players have today, he would most definitely dominate because talent, heart and mental toughness isn't something you learn- you have it or you don't. To say someone from the top 100 would win is ridiculous. The only difference between a top 100 player and a top 10 is mental toughness - period. Laver would have that...end of story.
Kommaseir 5 months ago
@Swissmaestro1
I disagree, it was a very different era of tennis where tennis was played in a very different fashion. Because of the technological improvements and generations of tennis players, the game play has now taken a different form. With Laver's dominance back in the day, I'd be confident to say if he still was in his prime today he could learn and keep up with today's tennis.
kirbykarter 4 months ago
@Swissmaestro1
Laver won 11 grand slam tournaments and 8 pro league slam tournaments.. really his count should be 19 slam tournaments.
kirbykarter 4 months ago
@Swissmaestro1 obviously, which is why I don't like using the term greatest of all time because tennis players in general are always getting better.

Eh, don't know about that. Agassi played against tougher competition for the majority of his career. Imagin if Fed had to contend with Doko and Nadal for most of his career.

Shendue 3 years ago 6
This comment has received too many negative votes show
I disagree. I think Federer relies as much as nadal on power and speed. The only difference is that nadal makes noise and fed doesnt. Nadal rushes with short strides while federer glides with long steps both require extreme fitness. though federer has more shots so to say.
there is not a single player apart from nadal and monfils who can match federer fitness wise.
fcshahzaib 3 years ago
djokovic is very fit as well..
reefric 3 years ago
I'm not saying that Federer doesn't rely on speed, and that will eventually go away because he's aging, but i disagree about power.
Fed doesn't throw his shots with the brute force Nadal seems to put into his own shots.
The strenght of his shots is more the outcome of a good technique and a flow movement then of pure strenght.
Look at them: while Fed is fit, Rafa is very muscular. You can see the difference at sight.
Shendue 3 years ago
It is medically proved that a normal human being reaches peak strength, stamina, muscle fibre, bone density(bone mass) in any age between 28-35. its just that ppl get smarter as they age and they dont wana grind out results.
Agassi was at the end of that range. Fed looks like at the start of that limit. Dont know where Nadal would peak but even if nadal peaks at the earliest moment , say like 28, then still he has another 6 years of raw power left in him in which he can win 6 FO n min 5 wimbe.
fcshahzaib 3 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
That's true, but you are considering a normal athlete who doesn't overuse his body.
Shendue 3 years ago
I would be surprised if Nadal's body can take tha punishement it takes. it lasted 10 months last year just fending off Federer, imagine how its going to cope fending off Federer, Murrray, Monfls,Djokovic,Simone,Tsonga who all have his number. His body is strapped just now at the age of 22, I wouldnt hold my breath. I dont feel he will have a long career, 15 injuries in 6 years, not a good sign.
CASPER10666 3 years ago
Completely agree.
A massacre.
Finished? LOL
Shendue 3 years ago
People believed he was declining and didnt take into consideration the damage of being ill can do. It was too easy, as all the wins came in the year Roger was ill, it wasnt a slow decline, it was instant. I knew Roger would come back, and he has. Yes he pulled DePotro apart limb by limb, how wonderful.......lol
CASPER10666 3 years ago
Again, i agree. His shape will start declining some day, and i know he's no more a teenager, but i think he can still play at his top for no less then 3-4 years.
He is not just talented. He is a very serious professional which always trains accurately, and those kind of athletes usually have longer careers then those who are less regular and serious.
Also, the fact he has an amazing technique will help his playing style even if he gets slower and less powerful with time.
Shendue 3 years ago
No Rogers style of game will allow him to continue for a while yet. Probably longer than Nadals type of game. He has very little injuries, he has looked after his body and his game allows him to keep going.
I hope he gets his 14th slam, he so deserves it.
CASPER10666 3 years ago
I just saw the Australian finals.
It was sad to see Fed crying.
The good news is that i saw him back in his best shape.
The bad is that from what i saw he looks like he actually fears Nadal now.
He gave me the impression he stopped several times before attemping a risky shot because he feared Nadal's returns.
He also wasn't very effective as the service as usual.
I think he is mentally inferior to Nadal at the moment, even if better in terms of actual playing.
Shendue 3 years ago 2
Yea me too, I think that Roger is holding the old baggage of last years, losses and comments still, he is doubting himself. There was sparks of the old Roger there, but he kept doubting himself. Im hoping that goes away in time. It was sad to see someone want something so much. But I am still sure he will get it.
CASPER10666 3 years ago
Sure that's why Nadal is crushing him every fucking time in every fucking surface, looooool.
primussmilodon 3 years ago
Nope.
Shendue 2 years ago

Andre is a great person and so is Roger. Andre has had a few incidents of losing his cool on court and has been known to swear at line judges and umpires.
