just in my experience most things like this where a truck ends up in the water has nothing to do with the truck its usually driver error not applying the parking brake or backing in to far and falling off the ramp shit like that

u are a complete idiot i know that diesel does not really make a difference as a v8 gas can do the job just fine but a diesel makes more torque, therefore making the job easier. But my main point is that rwd is not a good choice for going up a slippery boat ramp. The ford has better traction as its surface area contact is greater and has a better chance of tetting out of tuff situations

If you are taking about a slick boat ramp Torque isn't going to do you any good if you don't have any traction so in this case a diesel wouldn't help.

Four wheel drive or a dully would be preferred.

they are not! why do youu suppose that truck in the ocean was hauled out by a ford? if the ford is so weak, it would have barely moved an inch, and it probably towed that thing 30 yards..... that truck wouldn't be able to pull a sunken ford 1 yard if it was that exact truck, wich i presume was a superduty F-450 or F-550... i'd like to see you find a bigger truck, not made by ford, that has more than 500 hp that isn't custom, and can tow more heavy stuff than a ford F-450 or 550.

I don't know. I saw a guy sink a '90s Cherokee in the ramp next to mine a while back. My guess is either stupidity or loss of traction. Those ramps get mad slippery, and if the truck already had a bit of a challenge with a boat it could easily lose it grip.
