The Life of the Man, The Lesson "survive" is of the up most importance. To give him and the F.M.A. the Honor, is all we can do! Thank you G.M. for the truth we need. Thank G.M.Inosanto for sharing as well.
Leo Giron is the REAL DEAL. Today, you have so many people teaching knife fighting and bladed combat, yet these instructors have never been in numerous, life or death, bladed encounters. It's like taking swimming lessons from a person who's never been in the pool. Leo Giron depended on his blade to defend his life and his country.
Really good video. GM 'sGiron, Illustrisomo et al are men the type od which we wil never see again. BTW, nice to hear some apt music. What's with all the heavy metal on FMA videos on Youtube? It doesn't fit. Peace
MUCH respect to Leo Giron - a true bladed warrior! His advice is not based on theory or what he learned at a FMA seminar or from sparring with gloves and helmets. It is based on real-world, life and death bladed combat. The advice he gave at the beginning is the best I've heard from any martial artists. "Simplicity is the key to success in combat." Basic movements and strikes, executed well and with good timing, is all one needs for self-defense. RIP Grandmaster Giron. And thank you!
i don't see a sense in those steps..why u move ur feet, when the range/gap is already so big.. it is a waste of energy...what is also obvious for me is....when someone strikes a backhand, the strike is going to come from the side where the stick is and this is the same for the forehand.... u can read it....... this is different to the close range, it is less readable and unpredictable....
anyway, if u wud like to learn the largo-style I would choose the style of GM Giron! Bahala Na!
@juramentado one should never be static. the possibility of closing the gap from the attacker will change that range quickly. better to be safe then sorry.
One word, EXCELLENT !!!
Nicely Done.
