That's weird to hear. It was written for a girl to sing. Sarah wrote this song, and has been singing it all along. She graciously let Keith record it. It is a song about a prior boyfriend she had. I think she does a beautiful job singing it. Keith's version is great as well.
Yeah - before I'd even heard of Sarah Buxton I heard Keith Urban do this song, and I thought it was a little weird - to me it definitely sounded like a 'girl' song. Like, why was Keith Urban singing a song about a guy?
Sarah singing it makes a lot more sense to me, and especially Sarah WRITING it. I dunno, but I guess Keith Urban recorded it just because it's a great song. Anyway, now I'm a Sarah Buxton fan too.
Keith is singing the song from "his" perspective.....The woman that wrote this song specifically asked Keith Urban to record it........
