it was recorded during the where you want to be sessions and got leaked before the album came out. it probably wasnt included because its a direct diss to straylight runs "whats another word for desperate" but a decade under the influence does a much better job of getting their point across and i think they didnt want the whole album to be about john and shaun leaving the band especially since mark was still friends with them. but its a sweet song

I guess this was song written in anger towards Nolan after he left TBS. When Nolan started Straylight run, they first toured with The Format, thus the title "Follow the Format". Also, at the end of the song the lyrics are "Whats another word for..." One of straylights hit songs is "Another Word for Desperate" This song is kinda like No I in Team vs 70 times 7

ok, heres the deal.

As a kid that lives in a town two towns away from where TBS started, i know them fairly well and grew up with their music.

After Nolan left TBS should have just stopped. period end of the story. Fred's voice and style are not what the original, and in my opinion real, TBS sounds like.

Any real fan of TBS will agree with me on this, Their first record was the best, and they have never come close since.

no nolans not a god, but he not only wrote most of their lyrics he also wrote most of the guitar parts.

and as far as them being rich, not so much dude. My old singers brother knows adam personally from his old band playing shows with TBS back in the day. They still sometimes talk, and btw Adam lives in brooklyn in a fairly modest apartment. Not bad by any standards but definitly not rich.
