Give that man a bonus, a hefty raise, an extension on his employment contract (he's facing mandatory retirement soon) and a medal. I read that he's only the second pilot in aviation history to make a successful, controlled landing under similar conditions and circumstances. Sully has Brass Balls and an enviable talent.
un-fuckin'-believable, this dude is definetly a HERO...i hope Bush make at least one right fuckin' thing in his eight years of war and poberty and give this REAL HERO the congressional medal of honor he tottaly deserves it.

In this situation, there was not much time at all.
I am sure the Captain did the decisionmaking all by his own. Sure all the other crewmembers did a good job. But the decision was extremely creative.
No Pilot want´s to make this decision. But he did it, and not every Captain would have done so. Skills, balls and much much luck as well.
