Crazy!! - What was in there, just a little log scroll I guess?? I just started caching here on Long Island. I didn't even know what caching was until a couple of weeks ago when I stumbled upon a couple of travel bugs lost in the woods. Once I learned more about them I re circulated them and I was hooked. Since then I only found 3 caches but one was cleverly hidden inside an old tree trunk. The others were rather standard but I'm looking forward to finding some more crazy cache stashes!!
What? Oh I'm ready to go try again on a local cache I haven't been able to find now in South Carolina. Never thought to pull out screws but I've searched that guard rail and everything around it several times. Thanks for sharing!!
One of the first things I do when I'm looking for a cache were bolts can be found is to start pulling on and turning the bolts. There's some where they've drilled out threaded rods, JB Welded the bolt onto the surface and then threaded the bolt in so the simple wiggle doesn't find it.
When I only had about ten finds me and a friend that just started caching with me had to go back five times to a guard rail cache. there was this guard rail bolt that was newer than the others so I kept messing with the nut but the cache was the threaded part of the bolt and when u unscrewed the threads from the nut there was a hole drilled in the end to keep a tiny log..
haha I like the music
