  • Who is this man? What community is he from?

  • @akichita87 The man speaking is the late Wallace Black Elk, an Oglala Lakota medicine man (NOT a shaman - the Lakota don't have shamans), and grandson of the famous prophet and holy man Nicholas Black Elk. Grandfather Wallace passed to the spirit world in 2004. I have no idea why he is not given credit or recognition in any of the films Joel Samuel made with him, nor why Samuel called him a "shaman." Grandfather Wallace would roll over in his grave to hear himself called a "shaman"!

  • @akichita87 Grandfather Wallace Black Elk lived at Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota.

  • I've noticed the words "Mitakuye Oasin" are getting around : )

  • God bless you, Lakotah man in this video (and Joelsamuel for sharing). This is true religion. Listen to his wise words at the end how you should pray. If the world had presidents thinking and practising life like this man, this world could be a paradise. Pilamaya. Mitakuye Oasin.

  • smoke the tobacco and your hate will go away

  • The Dakota/Lakota/Nakota Nations have no shaman. It isn't shamanism that our elders practice.

  • I feel like a star in the night before dawn- hidden yet shining in the background with moments so fragile the sound within my sound.

Images reflections is what you can see and somewhere also I leave a part of me.

If you understand these messages I leave then you will see me shining and that is what I believe.

  • I thank three entities for this sacred clip.

    I thank Joel Samuel.

I thank the Shaman within the clip.

I thank all of our ancestors (and this includes the spirits on Mt. Taylor).

    Hoka Hey!
