F40 was already 7 seconds behind the F1 after the first(!) corner... GP2 cars is about 7-9 seconds slower than a F1 in one entire LAP.. . GP3 about 12-13 seconds after a GP2. a GP4 car vs the F40 would been a better comparison!

More horsepower, better traction, much lighter car, about 4k rpm more available. Colin Chapman got it right about drawing speed from less weight but the F1 takes a Caterham 7 and adds about 400hp+ more. Yeah that would be fast, lol.

Ah that depends, if this was pre 1998 Q3 - then its a Peugot... (which I suspect is even worse). I suspect that it is a pre Honda model. Ford logo? Maybe they made some component, as far as I know they were a major player in F1 from 1967 - 2003, with components (engines etc).

You nuts! this had been proven many times. Champ car/IRL shared many tracks, Montrea, Detroit, even Monterey. Champ car didn't even come close to f1 car. The detroit track was actually straightened (last chicane) to make it easier for champ car when it replaced f1 and it still was far slower.

First of all this video was obviously filmed years ago before the Enzo was even in development and second there's no way in hell an M5 would beat an F40. M5 = 500hp/4000lbs. F40 = 478hp/2400lbs. The power to weight ratios aren't even close. Not only that but the F40 was designed more for track use than the M5 therefore it's brakes and tires would almost certainly last longer on track so the gap between the two would just grow every lap.
