I wonder if this is why zappa got prostate cancer? really smart guy no doubt but i would have thought he was smarter then that to keep his mouth shut on his opinion about aids. At least not say it on TV! I mean i agree with him and everything but i feel like thats what got him killed. Even if aids was created by gov to reduce population it really doesn't do any good to tell people. Anyone else feel this way?

Holy shit, zappa was ahead of his time in all aspects. he shocks the host and some of the audience by speculating that AIDS could have plausibly come from a government lab or corporation, either by accident or on purpose, because of the instability of the hypothesis behind the origin of the AIDS virus, the immediacy of it's arrival, and the fact that it's a ''sexually' transmitted disease. All hail Zappa.

Wish I'd had the TV on in '86. Zappa trying to make sense to Joan Rivers in front of Chuck Norris. This could be a parody on SNL or MadTV.

The planet has never seen more intelligence before or since Zappa, nor two more intellectually-bankrupt than Joan and Chuck. All airhead Joan can say is, "Duh, you're smart!". And you have to wonder what Right-Wing Chuck is processing in his equally-sized brain ("Do I have to listen to this hippie, or do I just roundhouse-kick his skinny Italian ass?")

'star wars' was a big topic in the 80's. the reagan administration had planned to launch and position a 'defence sheild' system which would protect the united states from a nuclear attack. when frank mentions germs, he's talking about his theory that germ warfare would replace nuclear warfare, because a warhead loaded with a germ dispersing agent would kill a human population while leaving it's infrastructure intact.

She is better than any other tv interviewer in that at least she understands how intelligent Frank is, and doesn't try to play him off as a clown. She got him talking about AIDS and Star Wars in an intelligent manner, I'd say she's light years ahead of anyone else who interviewed Frank for tv.
