Hey John, What kind of mess does that leave on the tail surfaces for ya to clean up? I'm probably going to be doin the same thing on mine here as soon as its got the airworthiness certificate. Also what kind of oil and pump are ya running as well as what engine? What field are you flying out of? I'm up in central indiana and will be headin down that way in a few months, I may hafta stop by and check out the hawk
The smoke system does not leave a mess if you use the proper oil. Use the true smoke oil recommended for smoke systems either for RC aircraft or real birds, it is called Super-Dri. You can order it from most airplane parts stores or get it in one or five gallon containers from most hobby shops.
Come on down to see us at Scottsburg (3R8) we will be glad to show you our Hawks.
Thanks for taking the time for watching the video and making comment.
We came to the same conclusion as you that it was probably was a backpressure issue. Further practice runs(not on tape) we have noticed that with a increase of RPM we can keep everthing in a safe range with a couple of hundred increase in RPM to compensate prior to hitting the switch for smoke.
hi guys im an old man but i think you lot should get a life and a girl friend you little wippersnapping douche bags

Excellent job on the smoke generator!! I love the way the smoke "rolls" from the screw of the prop. NEAT!!

Maybe changing backpressure in the muffler causing rpm drop. Great looking smoke and airport
