I have a 89 2.3 topaz since 15 years ago and I drove it for 2k milles with a broken piston before overhauling, despite smoke never stopped. is an indestructible tireless engine. I'm going to drive until it dies.

they don't blow up until you take them apart and use 5 tubes of blue silicone to put them back together

agreed. the 2.3L HSC has never let me down. I've even overheated mine once and never had to replace a head gasket or anything, they are bullet proof! Not a wole lot of power but very reliable and parts for these cars are very cheap!

I own a Mercury Topaz GS 86 with the same engine but mine always turn arround 2500rpm on start so it is from 3000 to 4000 when I'm driving. It is not normal. Is there anything I can do to make it turn slower? Répond en français ou en anglais, comme tu veux.

no its stock , its a stock build for a stock class but it a new engine from botom to top

runs real strong , had it on paivement not going totry it on dirt.

Yes its a 2.3L from a ford tempo with .030" over piston . it has good torque but does not cornner the best.

Is that the stock Tempo motor? I have a 95 sitting in my garage I havent touched cause im building my Trans Am but i think it would be awsome to make a sleeper in the tempo but i have no idea wear to start.
