So I have to say I don't think this is a good song to have out there. I think it's beautiful, but when I was 18 and impressionable I attempted suicide while listening to this song. It's just not positive, and it's almost saying suicide is ok, and yeah, I dont know what to say.. Just ... I don't see how they could write this song and feel it's ok to put out there with all the impressionable children :/

For some strange reason I was half expecting (instead of the crossing the street with the brother in color) more of a solemn shot of her crossing over to him possibly a bruised and battered him- showing it was actually them being together again in the end.

I over think things, but it would have made sense given the progression of the video.

Anyway, great job! But as everyone said- quite sad. Still amazing, though.

This happened to me, I was playing with my little brother in the winter 1 yr & the tigger ball rolled into the street, so i sat him on the porch swing & said "ill be rite back stay ok? ill go get the ball" I was halfway thru the street when my mom called me so i went into the house nd told Ben the same thing i did earlier, well he didnt listen & & he ran out to go get it cuz it was his favorite ball nd ig he saw the car coming or somthing cuz he yelled stop, but they didnt c him... u.u

Wow, I have tears rolling down my face right now. I have loved that song for years, but the video you made for it really just made it... i don't even know I don't even have words right now. I'm a paramedic, and just a few days ago I ran a person who killed them self, and i think i just needed to see something to help me deal with the feelings of that. I, on the contrary side, saw it as her merely killing herself over grief of a false/social identity and not being able to cope with the meaninglessness in her life. I never really imagined it was grief over death until I saw this video. "The baby bird I set free" I interpreted as her letting go of her childhood and becoming an adult too soon.

Amazing work. I think you did a great job contrasting the the pure happiness and joy of life with the irrevocable despair and pain of loss. I felt both warmth and sorrow, with cohesion and meaning throughout. The switch from status quo to the shattered life after was abrupt and jolting, without being disjointed or overly abstract. The comment by faitvu, and the confession of the uncontrollable emotion your work triggered, should be further evidence that your work is definitely top-notch...cheers

This movie made me cry. It would make me cry anyway but it hits closer to home since I play big sister to a little boy about the age of the boy in the video. I've always loved this song and putting it to video just adds more to that. It is brilliantly done.

This has to be one of the best homemade music videos I've ever seen. And ScaryEvilDolly, I share your pain. XP The distinction between emo and goth is getting thinner and thinner. Emo's mainly about teenage angst, and mainly for teens. Goth's for all ages, and it's to show that life's not always sunshine and roses, and some people take darker ways to escape it.
