  • Thank you so much for posting this..I was crying when they starting singing The RainBow Connection

  • there should have been an explosion at the end with the troll saying something like" i told you! every classic muppets bit has an explosion!"

  • I think that dog was from Fraggle Rock!

  • haha, Aww Jim got stuck washing dishes, again. =D God bless you Jim Henson, you're still making people laugh after being gone for 20 years. :')

  • Every muppet special u see the man's face. 1 way or another

  • i love the muppets, okay

  • CandyCorn: And that's bad how? *hugs Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo, Camilla, Fozzie, Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Grover, Gobo, Red, Mokey, Wembley, Boober, and even Oscar and Elmo, among others* The Muppets rock! God bless Jim Henson.

  • this was so fun to watch! thanks for posting (= my dad, who passed away 6 years ago, was a HUGE Jim Henson fan, so the guy is pretty much revered in our household.

  • I always associated "The Rainbow Connection" with The Carpenters. Up until just a few years ago. Beautiful and lovely. xx

  • Jim Henson touched so very many people with his work. Why did he have to go?

God bless you Jim, ya' done good.

  • lol henson had to pay the bill XD! I love the muppets.

  • I also liked it when Gonzo took Jim Henson's picture in the Great Muppet Caper.

  • yup that was cool too. You dont see many cameos like that anymore lol.

  • That's how it always was...the Muppets end up having a great time, and Jim ended up paying the bill. :)

  • Yeah...like at the end of Muppet Family Christmas, he was the one who had to wash all the dishes. But I seem to recall he had Sprocket to help out..."I'll wash, and you dry." LOL

  • I wanted to cry when I saw Henson. His creations gave me a reason to laugh and dream while dealing with a hard childhood.

  • I can completely relate. I always cry whenever I see that Linda Rondstandt song, and just remember how I still miss Jim Henson.

  • who?

  • Linda Rondstandt (sp?), she sang a song in part 6 of 7 of this special that was really heartwrenching.

  • I love them. Thanks for putting it on leadout and thanks to jim henson where ever he maybe

  • "Wherever he may be" is right...

  • I'm amazed they included everything, from the lion from the Sylvester Stallone episode of The Muppet Show to the monsters from the quickly-cancelled "Muppet Babies and Monsters".

  • "We start our second 30 years tomorrow, so rehearsal begins at 9 AM sharp. I'll see you then." HAHAHA! Good one there, Kermit.

  • Speaking of which, was there a 50th year anniversary? 2006 was the 50th year of muppet goodness, and I can't remember if there was one then. Oh well, if there wasn't we'll just wait until 2016 for the 60th anniversary.

  • NUTCASE: No. The 50th was just a re-release of The Muppets' top-grossing now Disney-owned movies.

  • the frakles? (Not sure if that is the english name)

I diden't think they were a part of the muppet show, seems i was wrong

  • That's Fraggles, not "frakles".

  • ianot:

Everything connected to Jim Henson's vision--Sesame Street, The Muppet Show & Muppet Babies, Little Muppet Monsters, Fraggle Rock, Labryinth, The Dark Crystal, etc.--is celebrated here, because each puppet character brought to life by Jim's genius & his cast of wacky and loveable Muppeteers (and yes, that even includes Kevin Clash's Elmo) is a part of the rainbow-connected legacy Jim paved.

  • I have the entire show on tape, but it's nice to see someone else put it up for all to see, though.

  • This finale was classic.

  • way to end with an academy award nominiee song.

  • lol aftr just seing that last part of the myppets sing the rainbow connection wen it was on tv 198? i have now seen it all aftr all these yrs lol

    thanks 4 posting it

  • caroll spinney plays big bird & oscar

  • He also played Bruno the Trash man

  • 0:58 seconds in

  • i remember this! and i also remember that guy smiley made an appearance, (at 1:43)

  • Thanks so much for posting - I haven't seen this in ages!

  • That's cool when Jim Henson gets the bill from Grover.

  • May God Bless Jim Henson- He was such a wonderful person! May he always rest in peace in everlasting life in Heaven. And God Bless his creative Family that keeps his vision going forward!
