CandyCorn: And that's bad how? *hugs Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo, Camilla, Fozzie, Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Grover, Gobo, Red, Mokey, Wembley, Boober, and even Oscar and Elmo, among others* The Muppets rock! God bless Jim Henson.
this was so fun to watch! thanks for posting (= my dad, who passed away 6 years ago, was a HUGE Jim Henson fan, so the guy is pretty much revered in our household.
Yeah...like at the end of Muppet Family Christmas, he was the one who had to wash all the dishes. But I seem to recall he had Sprocket to help out..."I'll wash, and you dry." LOL
I'm amazed they included everything, from the lion from the Sylvester Stallone episode of The Muppet Show to the monsters from the quickly-cancelled "Muppet Babies and Monsters".
Speaking of which, was there a 50th year anniversary? 2006 was the 50th year of muppet goodness, and I can't remember if there was one then. Oh well, if there wasn't we'll just wait until 2016 for the 60th anniversary.
Everything connected to Jim Henson's vision--Sesame Street, The Muppet Show & Muppet Babies, Little Muppet Monsters, Fraggle Rock, Labryinth, The Dark Crystal, etc.--is celebrated here, because each puppet character brought to life by Jim's genius & his cast of wacky and loveable Muppeteers (and yes, that even includes Kevin Clash's Elmo) is a part of the rainbow-connected legacy Jim paved.
May God Bless Jim Henson- He was such a wonderful person! May he always rest in peace in everlasting life in Heaven. And God Bless his creative Family that keeps his vision going forward!
Thank you so much for posting this..I was crying when they starting singing The RainBow Connection

I always associated "The Rainbow Connection" with The Carpenters. Up until just a few years ago. Beautiful and lovely. xx

I wanted to cry when I saw Henson. His creations gave me a reason to laugh and dream while dealing with a hard childhood.

I can completely relate. I always cry whenever I see that Linda Rondstandt song, and just remember how I still miss Jim Henson.

Batou3 3 years ago
Linda Rondstandt (sp?), she sang a song in part 6 of 7 of this special that was really heartwrenching.

NUTCASE: No. The 50th was just a re-release of The Muppets' top-grossing now Disney-owned movies.

I have the entire show on tape, but it's nice to see someone else put it up for all to see, though.
