@HIT - Over using isn't a good idea, but I've done four or five turns for years and have never had a leak. One or two layers--and this fellow looks like he's barely using one--and I've had lost of leaks. YMMV, but every plumber I've talked to has recommened at least four turns.
@VideoMenu Actually, too much Teflon tape will gum up the threads and could make it so you can't twist on the valve properly. A layer or two is all you need for metal-on-metal applications. A lot of plastic valves don't require it and Teflon tape can actually cause them to leak.
Insufficient Teflon, PLUS, he had the Teflon wound the wrong way. Should have been clockwise.
