nice video .. its interesting that on the bridge there are 6 people constantly on watch while on the cargo vessels they are only 2

On some cargo vessels only 1 on watch constantly. On the oiltanker I am working on we only have one on the bridge at sea.

It lowers the cost of insurance, more people operating the bridge, the less chance of anything going wrong. Cargo ships don't have many staff or any passengers so it would be pointless using more than 2. :)

I guess the guy in the yellow polo shirt and vest is the harbour pilot, helping the crew to take her to open seas.
