  • They should of known that wasnt gonna fit a mile away!!

  • I had to prep and haul a couple of these can opener trailer wrecks from Milwaukee back to minneapolis after other drivers had done the damage. The wind and scale inspection crews give you alot of problems. But the worst is all the snide comments for your fellow truckers and CBers all the way home!LOL

  • I have drove Rig's and worked in a truck bodyshop The major part of the drivers are Noobs taking long haul Fresh out of Truck school and new to the country. In Canada are goverment pays new comers to go to truck school The some of the truck schools are owned by the same country of people They teach them the basic lessons But the skill to drive a truck or the unwritten rules of the road like if it looks too short stop and turn around Most trucks rise up a few inchs after dropping a load and BAM!

  • I doubt anyone here would have close to the skill needed to drive such a huge vehicule on the roads. I always had GREAT RESPECT for truck drivers. No way i would be able to drive something like that in any city.

  • one more time signs are not good, should say: no tractor trailer

  • he didnt try hard enough

  • 0.23 Nice Car :D

  • Funniest thing I saw was a car transporter with a full load of new BMWs that tried to get under a low bridge at speed. BMWs were scattered over the nearby fields and the driver was nowhere to be seen. Probably in an airport ticket queue if he had any sense.

  • where is this bridge?

  • @MrJrryhy460 If he had made it under this bridge he would make a 'T' at route 12. (part of old route 1)

A right would've taken him up fort hill and on toward Mystic, Connecticut, or further toward Montreal via I-95.

A left would've taken him toward Gales Ferry, then Norwich, and up toward Worcester, Franklin or Marlboro Mass unless he picked up I-95 going the other way toward Florida.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out where he was actually trying to get.

  • @muffinbottoms i live in mystic! :D:D:D:D:D

  • @AkimboDice You probably know this bridge well then. Those traintracks go behind the Big Y and Rons Guitars, etc.

  • bottom line....this guy is a dummy.

  • Trusting the GPS.

  • Thats one way of trying to load up a bridge , lol

  • Similar to this happened in Birmingham UK many years ago. The police were about to charge the driver but he asked them to measure the height of the bridge first because his lorry should have passed under the bridge OK. When the height was measured it was six inches less than the plated height. The council had tarmacked the road and not changed the height plate. A new layer of tarmac every few years is how they often maintain roads as its cheap.

  • Things like that happen, as long as no one was hurt it's all good. That's one turn away to grab that sandwich out of that cooler from happening to anybody driving a Big Rig. That could have been prevented though if the driver was scanning ahead. Freight, Trailers, and Trucks can be replaced, human life can't. Lets be safe out there... lol

  • u suck dud. cant see lowclearance bridge

  • Should have been using the Rand Mcnally Trucker GPS and reading Bridge height signs.

  • The big yellow girder should be a clue lol. freakin amateurs

  • I agree with lady big truck. The majority of us truckers are safe and skilled. I am truly disgusted by the name calling. Truckers haul everything from your groceries to your fancy Izod shirts to your iPods. You all would have a hard time without us. Just because one driver tops a trailer through inattentiveness doesn't mean we're all like that. If your doctor removed somebody's gall bladder instead of the malignant tumor he was supposed to remove, would you call him childish names, too?

  • someone lost their job...

  • Was the clearance posted? I've come across more than one questionable overpass where no clearance was posted. I have to have my husband hang out the window while I slow to a crawl and tick off a lot of four-wheelers stuck behind me. If I have room to pull over, I do so and wait for another truck to go by so I know it's over 13' 6". But drivers should not have to do this; all overpasses should have the clearance posted.

  • @pjsnickers dont u see the yellow sign above the truck? theres a clearance sign.

  • that will buff out easy

  • did the bridge died

  • the boss is gonna love this......

  • dam dave

  • and that's y NY state wants to start locking up 13'6" assholes who get on the parkways

  • What do you want to be that this driver was or is a Knight Transportation employee?

  • bringing home a baby bumble bee...

  • Seriously how stupid do you have to be to do that!

  • go faster

  • Oh wait we invented the English language. I think you you will find you are the ones that destroyed it with stupid names. Next time you want to make a derogatory remark try getting some spelling lessons first then you may not look like such a tit .

  • Other than proving you have the mental age of a teenager what exactly did you expect to achieve from that. haha. Am i meant to be offended in some way because i actually find it rather funny, A little saying comes to mind "Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"

What intellectual delight of a reply can i expect next? I am sure what ever it is i will be totally blown away by just how profound it is.

  • @unheard128 Better a Slow Driver with some Consideration than a "Swift" Driver with no Brains.

  • Whata dumbass. I'm a lorry driver and i say, that if in dubt u can at least slow down and give it a slow try first.

And he didn't...... He is an Asshole

  • city and states is under law to put signs on bridges lower then 14 feet. i know it for sure. truck driver can sue them for that. BUT, you right if not sure approach really slow and try slow. if hit tiny sound stop and back up. i saw it once done by one driver. he didn't damage anything and we help him to back up.

  • Is that yellow sign just above and to the right of the cab say the max height?

  • i do see yellow sign but i can't read it. may be you do?

  • no it doesn't look like its hight sign, you bimbo.

  • If we could see what the sign over head says the clearance is then you people can call the driver a dumb ass. If it says 13'8" or above it ain't his fault.Paving can add several inches to the road and decrease the clearance and they may not have changed the sign.If that's the case I bet they will now! If it was 13'6" or lower then yes he's a douche nozzle and should not be driving anything larger than a Ford Festiva.

  • and where is fucking sign. i don't see it. do you?

  • There s even a sign right above the truck that says Low Clearance, eventho its blurry

  • does it say the number?

  • halts maul du arschgefickter hundesohn

  • Donald,Duck.

  • What the hell was the driver thinking! there was no way that truck was gonna fit under that bridge regardless of what the clearance hieght said!

  • That is a huge box truck!

  • In NY, the bridges are posted a foot lower than what they really are. It screws up a WHOLE lotta drivers! There is a bridge on 278, that states "12'6", all trucks must exit"....when in fact, you don't have to exit at all! If you''re a newbie out there, and you DO exit, you get all tangled up in NYC, and can't get turned around. NY is a f'ing nightmare! What a shame for this driver!

If in doubt, STOP the truck! Tho somethin' tells me he/she would have had a whole lotta backing up to do!

  • What a dumbass! When come up to a 13'7" or lower, oh wait I don't, I do my trip plan to drive around it.

  • what if the maps DONT say anything about bridges 13'7" or higher?? NOT ALL states in the atlas have 13'7" + marked in...

  • Okay kids, today we're going to learn about measurements.

  • wow this guy is like a american teen driver

I hope this heartles greedy thoughtles self centered driver lost his liciense

what colour is the red truck

  • Blue

  • DOT: Get your truck stuck?

Driver: Nope, Delivering this here bridge and ran out of gas. Heres your sign

  • Actually its. Nope, I was delivering this here overpass and ran outta gas.......Heres your sign.

  • @Chevy4x4n lol I thought of that when I saw the thumbnail. LMAO!

  • name on the hood says it all

  • How on earth? I'm Class I(wide loads trained) and these accidents are caused by drivers being in too much of a hurry and not knowing about their max height. If in doubt stop! Get someone to check and see if there's enough gap, but for God's sake don't go under until you're sure. UK drivers are more aware of this than anywhere!

  • it looks like he could have made it if he deflated his tires first. I learned that trick from my mother and father

  • my profile working?

  • My grandpa was a truck driver, he did this one day...

when he was drunk as hell... LOL

  • A typical american idiot....

  • :)) It happens also in other country`s - like Romania - (i`m from Timisoara,Romania...)

  • Put your orange beacons on and a hi-vis jacket and stand around chatting....always works over here in England....lol

  • So many perfect people here, never made a mistake themselves, our mistakes are bigger and get a LOT more attention, but at the end of the day, shit happens to us all.

  • You got that right, we all were not born holding a steering wheel or with a set of truck keys in our hands.

  • i was

  • American IDIOT !! :)

  • At least we don't still use horse drawn carriages like you gay euro-fags.

  • lol

  • Come on people, grow up and lose the infantile name calling. The fact is, the driver of this truck wasnt paying attention but the majority of us truck drivers out on the road are excellent drivers. I have never had a chargable accident and never had a ticket... ever.. not in a big truck or in my car and I've been driving 23 years now. Please dont judge us all by the mess-ups of a few. Big truck accidents make great "news" but truly there are vastly more stupid car accidents than big trucks.

  • the reason people attack truck drivers when they make a mistake is trucks make them feel small in there little cars and theres nothing they can do about it so when they see a truck rapt around somthing the think yes i can have a dig yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @LadyBigTruck that is so true finnaly i meet somebody who makes sence on you tube i bet you 99% of the people who sware and say crap on here would not do it face to face, THANK YOU you made my day . god bless you truckers. p.s im going to be a future trucker. :)

  • @LadyBigTruck yeah i agree but this is still funny low bridge!!!...what..oh shit too late

  • @LadyBigTruck Also a lot of the big truck accidents are caused by car drivers who are not respecting the big trucks. People don't realize that it takes a lot longer for a big truck to stop, than it does a car. Everyone makes mistakes no matter what vehicle you drive. People shouldn't be so quick to judge.

  • @LadyBigTruck Well said! Thank you!

  • this guys just a dumbass!!!....lol

  • another reason why not to drive wile having a truck stop prostitute in the cab

  • Trucker's excuse: "I was driving and all of a sudden the overpass lowered itsef on top of my 18wheeler"

  • Ok.. this is the deal. If it says "low clearance", and you're in a big rig with a height of over 16 feet, you're probably not going to make it under a bridge that says 14 feet of clearance. What a jack ass.

  • Where do you get 16 feet? Trucks, with VERY few exceptions, are 13'6". Get a clue.

  • FYI, I'm not a trucker, nor do i want to be.. but still... it's obvious the truck was too big and he STILL went under the bridge.. and still.. he's a jackass.

  • you're right, the guy wasn't paying attention. But don't judge somebody when you have trouble manuevering you're car in a parking lot. You morons are hilarious. "Oh gosh, this is so hard, get out and guide me because this 10' long car is hard to drive." You wouldn't even know how to make one of these trucks move forwards, so shut you're fucking mouth.

  • I never said I had problems maneuvering a car in a parking lot. In fact, I tow a 40 foot boat behind my SUV (which is much longer than 10') on a regular basis, maneuvering just fine through a taco bell drive through without even spilling my soda. So if anything, you don't judge. (moron)

  • i bet you still get nervous though. You may have owned me just now, but my point is that car drivers judge truckers when they don't have the sense to be a professional driver with a car that only weighs 2300 pounds. It only takes common sense and experience to make a professional driver. If you are a driver who actually uses you're turn signals no matter if anyone is around, and leave following distance, not to mention speeding excessively, then i applaud you.

  • you don't know the height of a standard box trailer? Hmmmm.

  • Dude.. I'm NOT a truck driver!! Why would i need to know the height of a box trailer?

  • What a jackass you are. There's no truck out there with a box higher then 13 feet for your info. The bridge had no marking to indicate the clearance and most of the time it's not accurate. Then again you must be one of those soccor moms who drive suv's with a boat on the back. Pussy's drive SUV, real Men drive Trucks.

  • Bitch my mother died in 1982 you fucken cunt. Go to hell bitch.

  • Wow... thats explains ALOT!

  • "3) Your mother raised you with no respect, which is why you ARE a truck driver."

And I can see your mother raised you with no respect, which is why you're a soccer mom.

    [:

Bitch know what you're saying before you say it. You have no idea what it's like being a truck driver. It's twice as hard and thrice as dangerous as being a lawyer or whatever the fuck YOU are for a living! So bitch go back to screaming at kids for missing a soccer goal and back the fuck off of truck drivers! Cunt.

  • I have nothing nice to say, so i wont say it at all. Wait.. changed my mind! FUCK YOU DICKHEADS!!

  • fuck you

  • Funny, my trailers clearance was always 13'6 but I've cleared bridges in several places where I was over the clearance marked or right at the marked clearance. Thats odd, but it fit so oh so nicely. So truckers are people raised with no respect? How about this, if you had none of use unrespectful truckers, you'd never enjoy anything you have, even your precious little SUV or minivans...hmmm, so I guess us truckers make the pathetic little world go round!

  • yes it had a marking for the heith it is the yellow sign right above the truck but going 35 mph under the bridge you would be able to read it it is to high.

  • 16ft!What kind of truck are you looking at? That unit is a 53ft long ,13.6ft high unit.Only your over sized loads or double-wides are any higher than that. This guy was not paying attention thats all. That bridge looks more like a 12.3. He was probably lost trying to read directions or any other kind of distraction that will cause you to have an accident. The only difference between our screw ups and your screw ups is that our screw ups are a lot bigger.

    A 14 year driver

    Roadway Express

  • No screw ups are a better option.I am sure there are ways to avoid distractions.I might sound harsh but you guys dont seem to have a manual for truck drivers orelse screw ups like this are to never happen.

  • I feel bad for the dude in the top bunk LOL

  • Brady Street Bridge in Davenport IA is one of the worst overpasses nation wide. Its even called the truck eating bridge! Its got sirens, lights and everything that go off if you trip the laser sensor and ppl still hit it!

  • wonder if my wife diving that wagon

  • Looks like they were delivering a bridge and ran out of fuel.

  • Wonder what all that yellow paint on the overpass is for

  • dont hire that dude... didnt he use his eyes??

  • what state was this in?

  • damn, that looks like one of those things where you look like you got it clear by a mile. then wham. your looking for a new job.

  • should have let the air out of the tires he would have made it lol

  • what is he blide

  • Wonder why the doors were open?

  • I would say to remove cargo, so the trailer could be towed. Not sure though.

  • what the haell was this guy looking at? must be one of those "new canadian" drivers...

  • whats that supposed to meen yankee? LOL

    Cheers from Canada!

  • There is NO reason for this

  • 12'6, 11'6 it is all the same!

  • Yeah just a foot diff! LOL

  • 13'6...and its not all the same, try clearing them if they are the same when your driving a 13'6

  • Been There, if I come up on a 13 6 I Slow WAAAAAAAAAY down and hope I dont sneeze or burp lol, They get really close, I came up on a 11,8 once, Directions said go down this road turn left and before I made it to the left turn I saw 11,8 so it was Whip off to the side of the road and stop, took a hour for the cops to show up and turn me around lol

  • Kid prob lost his/her job, prob a greenhorn, or some idiot know it all supertrucker huh!

  • This driver should have been looking up eh?if you would have listed this as a accident you would have got a lot of views, but i guess it really don't matter anyhow right?

  • good thinking
