  • So nice to see Father Time alive and well, playing bass for Toto : )

  • I just can't imagine how beautiful this BluRay will look in a HD tv and sound in a great home theater. Ebay..I'm heading towards you!!!

  • Why did they make that poor keyboard player sing the low register?! Great performance overall though.

  • Very very very nice \m/_

  • Fantastic musicians, perfect armonization...

  • can you say auto tune?

  • @jdizzleski this is melodyne not auto tune (there's a huge difference)

  • Greg at 5:25 :)

  • this music is beautifull forever

  • A big HURRAY to Greg Philanges - and all session musicians - this vid just shows how much talent they have that is so under rated - Big bands rely on session musicians but they would not survive without them- in this one Greg is lead vocals and keyboards - this song would not exist without either of these elements!!! thank u greg 4 aq great track x

  • best ever :)

  • keep coming back to this- Greg Philanges - vocals n keyboards are brill and this song has special meaning to me 2

  • somtimes it sounds as if autotune is aplied :O but nooooo Toto doesnt need that :) they just sing so good! best performance ever!

  • @jelmerrr4 Actually, they did have to use auto tune on Bobby's vocals for the DVD. He's pretty patchy these days. Was terrific when I saw them in Newcastle but I've seen clips where he's very flat on the same tour. I'd much prefer a more honest approach. Too much post production spoils live DVDs IMO.

  • @AliTaylor777

really? It sounded like it but its very disapointing. Not only on Bobby's vocals i supose? I think Greg's vocals have some autotune to.

  • just keep coming back to this - song and phil!!!!!

  • A weak ago, I asked my dad what tour dvd, he used to show when I was like 10..

I'm so glad he told me :)

I remember rocking out to "King of the World" everytime we had guests xD

  • without greg Philanges this would never have happened- not part of toto but lead vocals and keyboards!! - 'just a session musician' - I DONT THINK SO!!! Greg UR SOOOOOOOOO Brill THANKS 4 THIS

  • Leland Sklar doesn't look like Gandalf, Gandalf looks like Leland Sklar.

  • greatest of the greatest of the greatest, from the greatest!!!!

  • I love Greg Phillinganes!!!!! wo wo wo- 100% talent - voice keyboard and very lovely to look at!!! - best verion of africa EVER!!!!!

  • Does Gandalf play bass?... WTF??

  • who is the guy on keyboards and lead sing - OMG - so good - need a name and wht else he has done!!! just love the voice soooooo much! thanks

  • @claire30061 That is the great Greg Phillinganes. . . He is a beast studio musician who has worked with the likes of Eric Clapton and Phil Collins, not to mention numerous other bands.

  • @baisden77 thank for reply - yes greg is sooooooo brill!!!makes me smile every time!

  • @claire30061 No prob! Also you may want to know that he is one of the biggest contributors to Michael Jackson's music. . . He was the music director for Michael's Bad and Dangerous tours. . . He is currently directing the Michael tribute show.

  • This is Gandalf? :O!

  • Saudades do Mike Porcaro...

  • Comment removed

  • fantastica performance, il finale è magistrale. è la migliore versione live di Africa che ho sentito.

  • @bandabandea Per me manca Mike Porcaro per essere perfetta

  • i would say this is the best performance of this song

  • @OFChughes check the one on amsterdam

  • @OFChughes that´s true, i prefer this version

  • @OFChughes I would say, this is the best ToTo Cover-Band ever ;-)

  • The ending was EPIC !!!!!!, nice, simple, concrete, Killer!

  • Hey you guys, can you give me a site where I can download this DVD for free?? I would appreciate it very much if you do :)

  • nice :)

  • you can tell when booby stops lip syncing because the autotune kicks in lol. it's too bad, I like the arrangements on this dvd but the autotune kills it

  • 12 Idioti!!!

  • Toto feat Gandalf the white one

  • @poisonapple85 I'll swear i saw him in a phill collins consert to

  • @laggmaker yeah, the first farewell tour ;)

  • have they stopped miming the chorus yet?

  • i thought that david was in the band on this album

    Falling in between

  • i thought that david was in the band on this album

  • Sorry- the warmth of David is missing here. Wrong voice.

  • wat macht denn der farbige da ^^ wo ist der fettsack ??

  • @toomyEH RACIST

  • For all of you Toto fans out there... check out this clip of "Toto - Africa" cover at a local Pizzaeria in the US.....

Africa (acoustic Toto cover) - Mike Masse and Jeff Hall

  • Simon Philips is amazing!!!

  • steve lukather looks like David Brent!!!

  • Fuck autotune.. Fuck it if you miss a note or two, we just want to hear you sing.

  • There is auto-tuning on this but honestly it's still live by virtue of the fact that the singers are still singing the correct notation that was sung on the actual recordings so back off! These guys have been playing longer and harder than the ppl now who use auto-tune arbitrarily that actually CAN'T SING. At least they're trying not to cheat their fans out of hearing the music the way they remember it

  • Who is that "Gandalf"?

  • @Suomisamuli Lee Sklar - one of the top session players of all time. Has played on hundreds of records

  • kimmie2069 is my mom (literally)

  • I'm gonna leave milk and cookies out at Xmas for Leland Sklar.

  • Good version. The drummer is outstanding.

  • It transported me there to the point that brought a tear to my eye...it helps to have audiophile speakers, hehe.

  • who says "i blessed the rain"X2 and "oooo gonna take a time ya ya"?

  • @MrMushu123 Bobby Kimball, lead singer of Toto.

  • @sspongey98 really, but i don't like the fact greg sings the chorus too

  • @MrMushu123 It's called "harmony". That's what they were doing. Maybe you miss Paich too much?

  • @sspongey98 no, i miss jessel

  • @MrMushu123 ...Jessel?

  • @sspongey98 john jessel, he worked with toto for a while

  • @MrMushu123 Oh, apparently he was filling in for Steve Porcaro.

  • @sspongey98 no, he was a backup singer, unlike steve

  • @sspongey98 paich harmonzied mant times, like in 1988,1998,2011,1990

  • This is definitely not auto-tuned. Greg's voice actually sounds this way.

  • anyone who thinks these musicians are artificially presented in any way have no clue to true musicianship.

  • New cat on the boards can play...

  • what's the point in releasing a "live"-DVD if you're gonna autotune it to perfection?

  • @Hildifred That's how most of it works... When you release something on CD or DVD it's usually supposed to be as perfect as possible. Even the best of bands do it. And the really, really good ones can do it well on stage, so... I've heard Toto is one of those. I must say, the member who is autotuned the most is the new keyboardist. I wonder if he can actually sing very well, never heard them live.

    Anyways I want Paich back!

  • retards. there is no auto tuning here. this is the reality of unbelievable talent. please be jealous. no one can imitate this.

  • Especially the singing keyboard-player is great!

  • Severous snape plays bass?! Lmfao but seriously badass show

  • @car614 wtf?

  • ==TOTO Tour 2011==

Live in Japan, Belgium, the Netherlands, England, France, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, Switzerland and Italy

  • Hella pro.

  • 2:10 lol

  • The keyboardist is Greg Phillinganes, another session artist who previously toured with Michael Jackson.

  • @sspongey98 I think he also did some work with Clapton...

  • @red2500hemi eric clapton, michael jackson, george harrison.. the man is a genious

  • Come on, guys.... It's Leland Sklar......He is also the guy who stepped in dog doo in the Phil Collins video for Something happened on the way to Heaven...

  • the 11 people who disliked must hate the africans

  • dude im 14 and man just f*** rap this is the best band to ever live

  • Severus Snape created 11 accounts and disliked this song.

  • Amazing music.

  • They need to put this on rock band 3 dammit.

  • just listen to the song...ppl

  • Santa claus plays in toto?

  • In another video Simon said he loves just looking around the stage and at the audience. But how can he look over that kit, I mean if you fall of it, you're dead.

  • fucking autotune, seriously noobish...

  • Comment removed

  • @Drallarn1 check out those "noobish" resumés

  • Where are they now?

  • Gregg handles Paich's vocals quite well here...

  • HOLY SHIT THAT BEARD!

  • I wish Charles Darwin played bass in MY band!

  • @CoolEditz You can have Charles Darwin in you band...I want Jesus playing in MINE! :)

  • @CoolEditz You can have Charles Darwin in you band...I want Jesus playing in MINE! :) This bass player; however, is Leland Sklar!

  • @jimmymac63 then youd have john petrucci in your band then. he looks like jesus,

  • "THE BASS IS PAPA NOEL?"

  • When they started to use sample on the vocals in chorus?? I don't like it :( even with the other singer now, they use the old Bobby's vocal from the record..

  • Gandalf on the bass, yeahh :)

  • @LeSierraOfficial

It is Father TIme LOL that shit made me laugh so hard.

  • @SnubnoseZero no! its dumbeldore

  • Comment removed

  • Santa Clause on the Bass ;) My dear Leland Sklar!!! Steve Lukather............ Comming to PORTUGAL PLEASE!!!!

    Toto, forever in my heart....

Big Hugs from Tavira - Algarve (Portugal)

  • Autotuned much, but those guys gettin older and older, no big deal

  • @ChristophMC I agree, Chris, at first the autotune (albeit subtle) bothered me a bit, but these guys are such legends I'm gonna cut them some slack here!

  • @ChristophMC It's NOT autotuned, autotune doesn't sound like this >.>

  • @MyFenderOwnsYours well yes, these arent t-pain settings, but technics are so highly developed, its not easy to hear it .. but africa rocks!

  • @ChristophMC Still, it's not autotuned, ppl with more knowledge than me said it below. And yes, Africa makes me cry :'(

  • who's backup?

  • Nice to hear the "honest version" - they knocked the guitar way down and put the vocals through pitch correction on the DVD - I prefer all the flats myself as it sounds more like a live performance. Aural exciter used in the dvdv post production too (I think). They might as well call it "TOTO LIVE IN THE STUDIO" - great band still. Most bands cannot hold a candle to these guys.

  • Oh and at 3:26 Bobby Kimball is cracking up too. :D

  • I love this song.

This is hilarious, but if you look at 3:24, Greg makes a really silly face, causing Steve Lukather to crack up at 3:28. Then if you look at 3:31, you can see that Simon Phillips is also laughing in the background.

    Super funny. :D

  • Esta muy cabron esto.... me intimida muchísimo esta música.

  • Not the originals :) But ok

  • Even better live and after all these years. not many can do that.

  • Lee Sklar: the most! from begining to end.

  • Perfeito. grande trabalho. Pena que a maioria prefira lixos da mídia absurda

  • @EdelcioMartins53 tambem acho ele deviam vir portugal isso sim

  • The bass player would make ten of Dumbeldore. That's none other than Leland Sklar, greatest of session bassists in the US of A....plays with Genesis, Phil Collins, Toto, Tower of Power, James Taylor, Steve Gadd, practically everyone in the world....just a great talent who makes Dumbledore looke chiken-pox.

  • This is so awesome, especially the part on 4:00....

  • Saw Greg Phillinganes only a few days ago with Herbie Hancock. STUNNING keyboard player, and an AMAZING singer. Almost upstaged Herbie, but not quite.

  • Comment removed

  • nice song, but they're too old for rocking... it looks bad^^
