It takes forever to defeat this boss, and even more to get to him with the Blade armor. I only managed to get to him twice: one with Zero and the other with the Shadow armor. But I ended up defeating him with Zero since it was near impossible with the Shadow Armor due to its lack of air dash :/
Trust me, if yer skilled with Zero, he is no doubt the best option to destroy this boss, though it takes more than forever to take down Gate with him.

I don't remember well, but I think I shooted an ice cube before me, jumped on it, jumped up from it, and suddenly dashed in air. I didn't pay attention for evading the wolf robots, even more, when being hit, the temporary invincibility can be used for good.
Double Barrier for the win! Seriously, get hit by the ice breath and practically climb the wall. You usually get enough time for one good stick and a bounce. Should be all you need.
And how did you get Nigthmare Zero?! The unlockable code is Zero in the black armor. Nightmare Zero is the one you defeat to get Zero to your team. And what you see in some stages is the Zero virus.

uggh i hate dual cells, i only ever once reached with ultimate X... all other times is as shadow armor (i think dats what it's called)
