That was five months ago. Now I don't agree with that statement at all. I did a re-analysis of this film recently and have had a change of opinion: is movie is damn awful-terrible. Admittedly, Tim Curry did a . . . just barely passable job, but his was the only role that was even remotely well done. The rest of the cast was so completely mediocre it made me want to ralph.

@8CaptainHowdy I'm about to read the book, and from what I've heard this movie is a terrible telling of IT, with the book going so much deeper into what IT really is, and much better explaining the state of mind of the characters and also making the bullies actually human. I can't wait to read it. Over 1300 pages of clown goodiness I hope.

Yes, you're right, the movie isn't really clear on what It actually is. I've read the book before, and there are much more scenes and parts with It in them in the book than the movie. The book also doesn't seem as ridiculous, it's much darker and takes itself more seriously. (Though, and people may think I'm being too critical, I think the concept of It in the book, just the whole thing, is very hokey. It's a very strong story in other respects though. Great characterization.)
