nativelandprod, the trees are not dieing. This is damage from the terrible Yellowstone Fire of 1988 which burned 3,000,000 acres. These fine pines don't grow overnight!
CowtownJohn....I recognize that sound too! Btw....great job of filming...not any chatter, no camera shake.....very professional and thanks for the post.
Strike first strike hard and show no fear! That second bull that ran in there decided that he didn't want any of that either. The old bull may be limping but he's still the badest thing in the valley!
He seems to be limping and unable to really run. May have won this battle but if that leg injury didn't heal quickly then he's pretty much wolf meat by now.
it almost seems as if they got into the water consciously knowing about the dramatic effect it would cause. hey, it just looks better, gotta impress the girls watching!
great footage ... they are so tough. no, leg is not actualy broken, looks like there is some heavy swelling around hte pastern joint (ankle). I have seen bulls and bucks limping like this during rut too ... just imagine the number of stabs , pokes, twists they take in a fight... it's amazing the smaller bull did not drown !
Hell yeah, Great video. I have been trying to tell my friends that how scary elk/moose can be. That screaming voice with forest rustling (something coming towards you) in forest with cold and dim weather.
probably the best video on you tube..I am history professor Osaka University, Japan and spent few years in Montana ...So lucky to live and see such a beautiful happening of nature.
I like how the third bull runs up and the cows get in the river to get by the winner stag with the limp and that third bull was all "Nope, I'm not that desperate." and fled like the hounds of Hell were on his tail while the winning bull bugled and yelled at him.
that sounded sad.

Don't mess with another man's women. Especially if that man is an angry Elk.

@nativelandprod This video would have been taken in the fall, trees might have just lost their leaves for the winter...

The "winner" must be a really great lover to keep all his women w/ so much competition....because he's really limping badly. One tough dude.
