The show had a lot of potential. I don't mind the addition of a 5th turtle, even If it's female. I just have a problem with her storyline and the writing of the show overall. I own a VHS that was the first 5 episodes on it and watch it every 3-4 years or so.

I remember when this came out I was so excited because I grew up watching the cartoon and the movies, and then after watching the first episode I thought OMG its Power Rangers in turtle costumes, the story was awful the acting was over the top and it just wasnt funny when it tried to be.

This scarred me and from then on in I never liked any reincarnations of the Turtles, and I blame this. :P

Who wanted a girl Turtle? Kevin Eastman. He created the character. He's wanted to make a girl turtle for years, but Peter Laird was against it. To this day, Laird hates the character with a passion. When Laird bought Eastman's share of the franchise, he did everything short of killing her off to get rid of her.

actually she was a big reason for the cancellation, now the show was a hit, but Peter laird didn't like her, in fact he is against a female turtle (Mona Lisa was suppose to be a turtle but he said no) After the show was cancelled, because saban did not was to split money 3 way with them, New line (Live action rights) and Peter and Kevin (Peter was going to charge them a fortune) Peter didn't want Venus apart of the series anymore, and according to Kevin, you can't joke with Peter about it

BUT, I think if this project had been put out by anything not called "Saban", then the execution of this might have been neat. Imagine a Turtles film, PG-13 or even R rated. Imagine a gritty version of the city, much like the latest Batman films. Toss the turtles in with a dark story...AWESOME.
