  • ummm....yes, windows CAN do such a thing and let's say for a minute that it didnt: who gives a fuck about rotating windows?? In windows, when I want to do something simple, such as install a driver or application, all I do is double click on an icon. Can you do THAT in Linux?

  • @AlexBrasil123123 Yes of course. If its in the repository you type for example "apt-get install xf86-video-intel" or just select it using a graphical package manager. Then you reboot and you youre done :)

  • @KeauHou17 You don't even NEED to reboot either :p

  • And while you're spending your time on how it looks, I'm playing Dual EVE clients, watching some movie, buying stuff online, and editing music on a single Windows 7 tower with no dedicated graphics, idling at around 2 3/4 GB of RAM. Fuck Linux. Instant gratification is every man's birthright. FAIL!

  • @5l0thal0t >playing Dual EVE clients, watching some movie, buying stuff online, and editing music

    >implying any of those can't be done on GNU/Linux

And fuck Linux? Why would you ever say that?

You either don't know what the fuck you're talking about and have a FUD-based view on this matter or you have adopted a near-sighted "us vs them" idea on operating system usage.

  • @5l0thal0t And FYI, this video is from five years ago.

  • sadly Windows can do that it just takes some tinkering.using a bit of windows only freeware called 360 desktop it can do much more then linux can do lol.

  • Wow, I am impressed with your ability to switch windows. Do you think you could make a couple more videos on that?

  • 3D Desktop switcher doesn't make you more productive, sorry.

  • I want your wallpaper! D:

  • SPINNAN CUEBS!

  • If your going to game use a console. Then you will not base your comparing of OSs to just gaming....

  • Some comments are insinuating that the linux-kernel is locked and like impossible to get to without root. Well, that might be true, but in a linux OS there are often several drivers that has suid root and this software might not be as flawless as the linux kernel.

  • I'm not going to say one is better than the other in general, but as of now Windows is better at games since most games won't even play on any other OS. If Steam made an official client for Linux that made the games work with linux too, I'd probably switch in an instant. And yes I know steam works under wine but the performance loss is just too big compared to Windows. That's just my opinions. Oh and a origin client because bf3 would be nice too.

  • stupid kids and their compiz shit

  • NO YOU COULDNT

  • Yes it can!

    (Vote Bill Gates)

    trololol

  • Dicking around and doing nothing? Yeah, I do that all the time.

  • ehh yes it can?

  • you use this if you play xbox for games

  • Well, can Linux be infected !?

  • @gjergji1994 Any technology can. Linux is just less susceptible because it is less popular. Androids' popularity might introduce malware to the linux OS if we aren't careful.

  • @hylogibbon Malware can not run on linux, the kernel is a protected kernel you cannot load any module or code into it without root privileges. the ssh shell that you would have to hack to gain that level of access on one machine would be beyond realistic. You need to specifically target one machine only and it would take a long time just to get it on. Linux works very different to windows. Once the kernel is loaded its locked, the way i mention briefly above is with a driver module

  • @hylogibbon If your foolish enough to install and load a malware driver then you should not be using a computer. those who actually know how to use the kernel to do this would laugh at the malware code it would never get past inspection. not saying you could not socially engineer them in to doing it but thats allot of work for attacking a single computer that actually requires a human to access it via a keyboard. ssh is normally not installed so you need be at the computer in person

  • @hylogibbon The Linux in Android is different from the "Linux" people usually talk about.

They usually mean GNU/Linux, but insist that it's "inconvenient" and hard to say, but then we end up with misconceptions such that an Android/Linux system is very similar to GNU/Linux.

In any case, if we're *really* talking about just Linux and not the operating system, then there's probably not much to worry about.

The weak points are usually in userspace, not kernelspace.

  • @hylogibbon Yes I agree , windows run on 90 % oc PCs , but Linux can be more secure due to its source , so you can modify it , thats why servers runs Linux...

  • @gjergji1994 No because 1. Linux is more separated. Imagine a large grid. If one square of the grid were to be infected, it is impossible for the other portions to be harmed. as Windows everything CAN be affected, nothing is separated. 2. Comparing user rights on Windows and Linux. By default all Linux software is run limited. In no way does this affect usability unless your changing core components which all it takes to do so is the word sudo.

  • @legojoey17 Sure!

  • @gjergji1994 :P Cont. Windows to limit stuff you must have a limited account, which has quite a large amount of usability limits and requires you to change accounts to access those rights. 3. Microsoft aims for usability, not security. You will find many moments in a Windows OS that can possibly invoke a virus, where as that will never happen automatically in any Linux distribution due to requiring some kind of user authorization.

  • @legojoey17 For Windows you can use UAC, so very annoying but is said to help stop viruses, but my bet is that they've bypassed that the day it came. And in Theory no OS is completely secure, a virus in linux could PROBABLY grant it self higher rights etc but I don't know. Just know that the ones who create good viruses aren't bad.

  • @SanyaIVLitvyak UAC is a very useful tool, a process that is not started with admin privileges can't even send a message to another window or for it's window for that matter, so UAC is a step forward, however they way they've implemented it is not the best...

  • @gjergji1994 "infected" is a buzzword.

If you're asking whether the current kernel has some security flaw somewhere that can be exploited, then yes - it probably has.

There's hardly any way to make sure a piece of software is perfect. Only maybe a mathematical proof of the software's correctness, but that's only feasible for relatively simple programs.

The improved security comes mostly from the way the source code is up for anyone in the world to inspect, fix and improve.

  • @atan0k True...Yes the source code allows programmers to secure Linux , depending on an attack.

  • First Windows dont wanna do this because it's useless, second the only thing that "linux" can do is initializing hardware and calling the panic() function :P To be exactly: The Kernel is Linux, Gnome isn't Linux, it is third party software

  • @suchiman123 I love multiple desktops.. Thats a huge miss on windows.. Because its more usable then 1 single desktop

  • @MrDemilord mh... what is better in switching trough virtual desktops as easily opening programs from the taskbar ? i've tried to use multiple desktops, it's making me crazy, searching for my windows on virtual desktops, this isnt easilier than just click the program on the taskbar and kawoosh, it opens

  • @suchiman123 I always open the same programs on the same desktops -- editor, terminal and browser on the first one, gimp on the second, image viewer on the third -- this way I never “search for my windows on virtual desktops” because I know where they are.

I don't use taskbar at all -- in the days I did, it quickly became too cluttered to be at all usable.

Also, taskbar requires the use of mouse, which switching desktop does not and for some that's a plus.

  • My Windows can't, but my Ubuntu can!

  • i dident even watch the video but i clicked on it to tell u that windows cant do shit but crash

  • @K1llerEel Thats because you set it up the wrong way.

  • windows can do everything out of any operating system. you wanna know why? because we have virtualbox software which runs any operating system inside windows you morons :3

  • @reuben0708 Linux can also run a virtualbox :)

  • @ri8002 true

  • @reuben0708 So does linux. I run XP in VirtualBox, just for your interest

  • Yes

  • Ok since everyone's talking about convenience macs are the way to go there. They ARE the most user-friendly computer, with easier, more logical/fluid ways to do things than any other system. After all, the Lisa was the first computer to be released with a GUI. BIll gates just ripped them off, but at least apple got a head-start on learning how it worked, since they sorta took it from Xerox. Macs may not have the gaming shit, but it can program things and run fast. Servers can also run securely.

  • Windows Might not be able to, but does it need to? Absolutely not. People these days would rather buy computers that have pretty effects than computers that is useful to them.

  • @OSDolphin you don't know crap about computers do you? Your windows is a resource hog. Linux allows you to do more and isn't for the dumb person with no life playing World of Warcraft all day long. Linux is open-source, meaning you can edit and play with it however you want. Linux is more efficient and requires 1,000x more knowledge. Mac is in between. It's not a resource hog, still not quite a gamer, more work-based apps, and is specially designed for performance. Face it. WINDOWS SUCK!!!!!!!!!

  • @jonnyozzyman Quit trying to run Windows 7 on Winodws 98 SE hardware. "Linux allows you to do more and isn't for the dumb person with no life playing World of Warcraft all day long. " So you assume I'm a 42 year old overweight pedophile?

Your opinions sound like they are from the media and should be bashed,

You just like Linux people told you Windows was a resource hog, or you bought a PC from 1998 to use it.

  • @OSDolphin U run Linux on a 2011 system, Linux isn't for old hardware, it is capable and more flexible.. you can indeed run linux on as small as a 486.. or a pentium 1,

You can use a Pentium 2 for just surfing the web etc... Linux is good for recycling old pc's that otherwise end up on the trash

  • @OSDolphin

    Thinmks of windows 8 tiles

  • Comment removed

  • If someone made some kind of program that allowed a version of windows to do that, sure it could

  • Huh. Just download Dexpot and Windows is the same. Except for the great unix terminal, of course. :)

  • windows is better for games we all know that becuase corps dont wanna work hard to make games for windows mac and linux then ps3 xbox nintendo we still have opengl but is just about time I play HoN quakelive and every valve game runs in wine i dont play CoD cuz is for noobs lols if we get LoL and WoW in linux one of this days ill shut your asses up

  • Comment removed

  • the point of all these windows fans on here fighting w/linux users is this: Windows is more convenient 4every1.If i want 2 play call of duty, i can. If i want 2 write a document i can, if i want 2 make a video with ease, i can. Linux needs every damn resource just to play one stinking game. or make a proper video. not that sketchy bullcrap. I used it for years. YEARS!!!,it still don't compare to windows. and to answer who fucking cares if it's 3rd party, u can do compiz type shit on windows too

  • @whatuwantme4 Everyone? I beg to differ: Most large companies (Google/Youtube and IBM most notably) use Linux to power their entire infrastructure. Over a million people use Ubuntu Linux on their home computers (including many non-technical people). Lots of schools around the world are re-fitting their computers with Linux to cut down on costs. And you say Windows is more convenient for everyone? That my friend, is not true.

  • @blokeroy ok for 1 theres an estimated 53 million Linux Users currently up %45 from last year. 2nd businesses use linux because it's cheaper than windows and is more stabel and secure on a server.something u dont understand.3rdthere is an estimated 521million windows users and 44million mac users. i'd say your beg to differ is way off the charts.maybe you should learn marketing and what goes into it. there are total 600 million gamers registered gamers world wide, linux needs gamers

  • @whatuwantme4 "Something I don't understand"? Sir, I administrate 4 Linux-powered servers and I run Linux on my home computers - I think I would know a thing or two about this subject. Gamers are a large audience, but the enterprise is far, *far* larger.

Linux could use more gamers - I concede that - but your point that "Windows is more convenient 4every1" is just plain wrong from every angle.

  • @blokeroy no, the gamers side is the biggest thing to hit PC's anywhere. maybe you should read the statistics. the ratio is some 32 to 1. Gamers make the companies what they are face it. that's where it is headed. Even adults are gaming one way or another. whether it's facebook, or some shitty card graphical game. The companies are worth BILLIONS! MULTI-BILLIONS! linux loses on this big time and will fail if they dont step up. you guys are so bias you can't see past the bullshit

  • Yup. It can.

  • This video is a couple of years old. I bet Linux haven't changed much since.

  • That is the main problem with Linux users... All they care about is showing off their cool compiz desktops and that is it.

Linux is MUCH more than a cube full of rubbish.

And about the gaming thing: Linux isn't a gaming station. It is an operating system that does everything natively and eventually a bit of gaming. But Linux isn't developed for that purpose and companies don't make games for Linux.

For instance, I can use my Linux to sniff the packets your wifi card sends and crack your email!

  • can linux run skyrim natively without issues, on it's highest detailed graphics everything maxed out? no

    otherwise, keep your windows peeps.

I been using linux for 4 years. Love it, but for gaming it's shit. not all games, but majority run like shit. if it's not audio issues crashing it, it's another thing. I ran skyrim and saw triangular dragon floating at me, polygon shaped objects, black screens. So I did the audio fix, go figure right, put game on highest settings.didnt even want to run

  • @whatuwantme4 You measure the gaming performance of Linux on how good it can run a game that is Windows only? Did you ever try to run a native Linux game in Windows? That doesn't even make sense. It's not the OS’s fault that Bethesda doesn't offer Linux versions of their games.

Even on Windows, there are texture glitches and crashes in Skyrim.

If an app causes problems for you on Wine, visit winehq.org and ask for advice, or file a bug report, instead of trolling here. Seriously.

  • @AncientWeapon actually yeah. I did run linux games on windows just fine. The emulators for windows had no issues with the games and actually ran faster. try it for your self before you knock it. I wasnt using wine anyway. I use play on linux, it has more available resources than the wine emulator. and dont say it is not, because even Linux it'self categorized it under emulation.the point is, this video is implying windows can't handle graphical embroideries like this. yes it can

  • It's sad, you may be able to do this but you can't run enough of a good program to record in HD.

  • @ShakenFoe Look at the date asshole. name me 1 video on youtube from 2006 that's in HD.

  • @EatenSniperGuy I didn't realise, calm your balls down kid.

  • I never got the appeal of Beryl effects, cool to watch but impractical IMO.

  • yeah it actually can it's windows button+tab

  • yes it can.

  • Actually, yes, it can.

  • Minecraft?

  • Theoretically, yes. Any WM could, given the right supporting applications. Could Windows do it as efficiently? Highly doubtful.Therein lies the beauty.

  • yes windows can do this with ease also its unnecessary

  • @Aqwert76 No it can't. Seriously.

  • @DaemonAnt umm it can there are programs for it

  • @Aqwert76 LMAO!!! GTFO winfag.

  • there was a cube thing like this on mac and my friend converted the file and now his windows can do this

  • i cant begin to explain to you how useless it is that you have like 8 screens...later bro

  • @TheOnetimeatbandcamp ever have to hide your porn quickly? yeah... not so useless now.

  • @drolandcorp why the fuck would you hide porn? ...and hide it from who? you pussy bag of douche dicks, fucking idiot, a man's balls in the hands of a female, ever seen the lord of the rings doucher??? grow a nut sack penis lips

  • i smell /g/ or archlinux hipster

  • Don't a douche: this video's been posted IN 2006, so this version of

Debian isn't as good as the latest one :)

however, every Os has goods and cons, so stop trolling around please.

  • windows is the best and always will be

  • i have tried ubuntu on vb, it was all confusing, i still don't know how to get adobe flash there.

    not posted on a ubuntu.

  • @5up3rp3rs0n open software manager enter "flash" pick the one you whant click install.

reboot browser if open enjoy flash!! >_<

  • That is nice and shiny. But it suck =D

Go take a look at tilling wm.

Awesome and xmonad the 2 best wm.

  • @Lavitx Pshaw, WMFS master race.

  • Yes, windows can do that with CubeDesktop xD

  • @Rephlexiondm For 20€, Windows can do what this video posted over 5 years ago does for free? Neat! Time to go out and buy the latest and greatest from half a decade ago!

  • @m0skit0zindahouse i mean m0shit0zindahouse I havn't tried linux yet, because there is no safety policy that will my pc crash for it. if you give me money to buy a laptop, i will try.

also, i find everyone is fighting to you. have you tried windows too? i hate fights, please stop arguing to me. i just want everyone stop the fight of pc, mac and linux. mac is fast, linux is free. windows is cheap and fast.(might not faster than mac) just choose what you want!

  • windows 7 can do all those things with 3rd party downloads and even windows xp can do that and besides if windows and mac pcs didn't exist there would be now place to run linux. IT IS NOT A BAD OPERATING SYSTEN though its just not as good as windows or mac.

  • @steveandbillfan That's third party support, Linux does this natively. I use Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.10 with Gnome 3 shell on my PC, and so far the only thing I changed is Unity to Gnome shells in Ubuntu, in Windows nearly every default program has been replaced.

  • In answer to the OP's question:

    Yes. Windows can do this.

  • I use GNU/Linux in my laptop. And nearly all of my friends (mac and windows u$ers) are impressed by flexibility and productivity it offers. And yeah, I don't play action games.

  • This video is DUMB, I run LINUX inside windows 7. I use compiz and do all these magical things inside windows 7. The thing is that it's actually 100% more effective to run LINUX inside windows via VBOX. You get full windows compatibility as well as the ability to harvest all LINUX free programs. There I said it. Today's technology means MS wins. VBOX:)

  • @cyberhmoob

You can run Windows inside linux too.

  • @a931bw True but the true compatibility is lost. Running Virtual Software inside Linux strips Winblows a little.

The amazing thing is, Linux runs 100% effective inside Winblowz.

  • @cyberhmoob Lie.

  • @a931bw Ignorant:(

  • Battlefield 3 sells 5 million copies in first week.can linux do that ?

  • @ajesikara Linux is working in almost every embedded device... So...yeah...pretty much it can ;)

  • @ajesikara Nope. Linux is not sold. But if you want you can compare all distros downloads vs Battlefield.

  • @m0skit0zindahouse you dont know what you talking about.over 80 % of developers in linux (main distros) taking salary. if i wonna compare all distros downloads i have to compare just the linux users. every six months new version of ubuntu , every 2 years new version of debian ......... you said linux is not sold ? well the ppl can try download it and see why is not sold . they cant play battlefield on it :P

  • @ajesikara it seems you're the one that have no idea... well, so what about developers getting salaries? Is that bad? What has that to do with number of downloads anyway? And yeah, Linux is sold if you want support, and yeah, Linux is free, and you can download it for FREE, and legally. Ubuntu, Debian, Mint, Fedora, Mandriva, OpenSUSE, Arch and so on. All are FREE to download, legally. And who cares about BF3 anyway. And just FYI you can DO play BF in Linux.

  • @m0skit0zindahouse "And who cares about BF3 anyway" well 5 million BF users , in first week ;) dont be mad m8 i just say that linux is not so represented as windows . i think it's great OS but the true is that more ppl use windows and the title like that one is so......... lame. btw , you can download windows for free , not legally , but free :D

  • @ajesikara there's far more Linux users than BF players, so your previous point don't stand up. I think that each one uses the OS that suits him best, and for power users that's definitely Linux. One guy once said: "hacking in Windows is like trying to dance wearing an armor". Anyway, good luck with Windows and viruses/malware till next formatting :)

  • @m0skit0zindahouse you are not objective . i can now say there are far more game players than linux users. be honest .the most widely used linux distro is ubuntu , wright , so how many linux users download that distro in first week ? what you think by power users ? what do you think about next formatting ? ask any linux users how many time in one year they boots their system .... viruses and malware is a problem for windows users . what about linux problem hardware compatibility ?

  • @ajesikara if you want to generalize, there are more OS users than gamers... More than 3 millions download Ubuntu the first week. Power users? Users that do useful stuff with their computer, not playing. "How many times users boot their computer"? Makes no sense. You boot your computer when you turn it on. Linux has no more hardware compatibility problems than Windows. My laptop didn't work with Windows and it did with BackTrack. I suggest you try Linux (now, not 10 years ago...).

  • @m0skit0zindahouse i think you are some wonnabe geek guy. your laptop didn't work with windows ? that is so not true :P but you got BT :D linux has no more hardware compatibility problems than windows ???? yeah wright ^^ tell me please what useful stuff you do and how do you return the community that you use linux ? did you try some of new distro lately and haw often you trying it ? did you trying it on virtualbox or you install them ? and i do use linux just hate the titles like this one .....

  • @ajesikara I'm neither a wannabe nor interested in your opinion since you don't even know me. I'm not trying any distro lately since I'm Debian and BT user since quite a few time (since Debian 2 and BT1). Debian is the OS I use for anything except gaming on desktop computer (it runs on a VM over WXP) and BT is the one and only on the laptop.

  • @ajesikara Linux is free.

Completly customizable, educative and delivered with thousand of building tools.

The way of think is completly different, when you understand how he works, your creativity has no limit.

but if you whant to shoot people with the last game more real than the last until the next version and waste your time to use heavy and unstable program grossly integrated to your graphical interface and without possible evolution.

Yes W7 is for you, a bit like an Xbox.

  • @JeJednb i dont even play BF3 :P i use linux and it's ok for me , but this what most linux users talking about windows is just not true. windows is just fine OS and it's not just for playing games , the consoles is for that ;) you say linux is free ? what about something like autoCAD ? is there program for linux like autoCAD but for free ? i think not . so yes you are wright , linux is free and it's ok OS but the windows is also very good OS where you pay what you need .and it work.

  • yes my pc can do that.

  • @OptixTom Fuck the shut up.

  • linux all the way!! It is possible to play games on linux but i choose not to cause thats what my ps3 is for. And for all you windows fans, you need a VERY good computer to play any worthy games. If you don't have a decent processor or graphic card you're not playing any good games anyway. Furthermore think of all the extra software you need to buy with windows/mac like Photoshop for example, GIMP is the same thing but free. Why not save the $300 + for Photoshop and get a gaming console.

  • @muratonder65 I don't use Windows, but I am pretty sure there is GIMP for Windows.

  • @muratonder65 You're on crack my friend. GIMP is also available for Windows:P In the end though. I'd really rather use photo shop because it's more accurate pixel wise.

  • @OptixTom Go fuck a book troll..

  • @OptixTom I never thought what google use. not "popular person uses something" means that thing is cool, you are an idiot that has were infected by education, seriously, have you ever played once? now go back to you books and be a nerd for the rest of you life. Minecraft sucks.

  • I AM NUMBER 100

  • *ahem*

    Yes.

  • Comment removed

  • @OptixTom

    </3 Linux

    Dear Linux Lovers,

look at how many features Linux has

    now look at your poop

    See any difference?

    I don't.

  • You think windows cant do that use the application cube desktop

    and see how it is!!

  • @mohammedanees11 look at the upload date... 2006

  • Useless !!!!!!!!! I have multiple monitor and its way better than that lolll if i would use that my productivity would go down by half lolll

  • people who dont like linux are to dumb to know how to use it

  • i love linux, love the kernel, but I hate x11

  • @ice0cold0eu If you love linux the you MUST love the kernel, because linux is only that, a kernel.

Why do you hate x11 BTW? I mean, I don't really like it, but neither do I hate it.

  • Here, let's make you brats quit crying.

*runs a XP/Vista/7 virtual machine on Ubuntu, and has better performance than actually running Windows OS*

No really, the only problem with a VM is that I can't alloticate enough video memory, that's it. I alloticate the max and I can play some half decent games on it.

  • umm actually u can and look how a=many terminals he has linux is awesome but with that shitty kernel i will never use it

  • Windows can't blur the image as bad. so, the answer is no.

  • in fact, windows can do even more

  • @okosenkov too much talking and no showing.

  • yes windwos can do that

  • if your video didnt suck balls// all i saw was abunch of bullshit random tabs and pop ups all over the fucking place; and "view source" - using another program.. (windows can do that by clicking the right mouse button) whats up with that gay music video shit at the end of this vid?

  • waht aint possible with linux?

    nothing

    waht is possible with windows

    nothing

  • LINUX IS THE BEST !!!!!!

    FUCK YOU WINDOWS AND MICROSOFT

  • @schwarzfahrer1994 umm not with the shitty linux kernel and no money it isnt P.S i love linux ,nevermind i love the UI'S that were developed it

  • OptixTom is gay, just look at his comment. He has been looking at a lot of penises

  • @OptixTom Wait... you have been looking at the haters penises? gay >_>

  • @TyphonBaalHammon: Do you think lot of people will try to thumb up your comment talking about: 'Linux is the only game we need'.

Don't write pretending to be a Philosopher or kind of. Just there's only a good couple of differences, both of them have something good stuff and bad stuff.

  • @DaMercce I couldn't care less what other youtube users think of my comments. I don't think it's an especially clever, deep, or witty remark, that's just the truth, or at least a bit of it. It does fit the way I use linux.

  • @OptixTom Can you play BF3 on vanilla Linux?

    u mad bro?

  • Yes it can. If an OS can't do this simple task -- it will never be popular.

  • Rice

  • What was that? I can't hear you over all of my games and software compatibility..

  • @onelerv1 Linux users don't need games. Linux is the only game we need.

  • @TyphonBaalHammon -_- Good point..

But I will say this, true enthusiasts get both.. =P I use Windows and Linux personally.. Still pref Windows *just because of what I said*

  • @TyphonBaalHammon Linux users are boring poor bookworms that don't have "game" in their dictionary.

  • @5up3rp3rs0n And you're a cunt.

  • @5up3rp3rs0n

for me, game is the animal I look at over the arrowhead.

    most video games are boring.

  • @aleclitvinov you are infected by linux...

  • @5up3rp3rs0n that doesn't have to be boring. If it wasn't for bookworms, you wouldn't even have games. Or do you think games grow up in trees?

  • @TyphonBaalHammon

    *** top 3 linux games ***

    *1) emerge

    *2) makepkg

    *3) make menuconfig

  • @aleclitvinov

Re 1.) Fidling with ebuilds is at least as entertaining as any puzzle game.

  • @TyphonBaalHammon also, skyrim

  • @TyphonBaalHammon I have 2 laptops, the old one I installed linux for higher computer tech stuff. and the new one for high end graphic stuff, like 3d modelling and video editing.

  • @TyphonBaalHammon

So true. And when I want to play games I have a little devise for it right under my TV. It is called a Xbox 360

  • @onelerv1 You have wine for linux if you want to play. You can also have linux and windows installed at the same time. That's what i did.

  • @onelerv1 software compatibility? I just loled. Windows can only run Windows software. I don't see any compatibility there.

  • @m0skit0zindahouse .... lol well no shit. Linux and apple can only run linux and apple programs. My point is the amount of software available and how many are ported to windows compared to other OS.. Hell until recently GFX drivers were a bitch and a half to find on linux/apple..

Before you get your panties all knotted up, I have a linux partition on nearly every single comp I own, I just hate you pretentious linux owners. You can't do everything on one OS, get over it none of them are best.

  • @onelerv1 well no shit. You've never used Linux in your life, so please STFU. Linux can run Windows apps. Go inform yourself, or better, use it instead of having it in a partition. And I've already said each OS has pros and cons. Learn to read before answering.

  • @m0skit0zindahouse Jesus you must be dumber then dirt, I just said I have linux partitioned on every single box and I DO USE IT, hence why would I partition my fucking computers. I usually only write scripts in linux, or use it for system administration anyways because you can't do shit on linux, but you get my point.

Since you're stupid as hell I'll type it again. Why spend all your time porting code/translating to become available on linux. You obviously don't know computers though, so idk.

  • @onelerv1 Look asshole, I didn't insult you and anyway you only talk bullshit, switching subjects just to not having to answer them. Btw, I'm programmer and security consultant, so I fucking definitely know what I'm talking about. I don't care if you have Linux installed everywhere if you don't even use it, dumbhead. If you can't do a shit in Linux then the dumb definitely are you. I'm not commenting this further anyway, kid. And if you're not a kid, you just behave like one. Go talk to mommy.

  • @m0skit0zindahouse Last time I heard go talk to mommy was about when I was in grade school, you call me a kid then say something immature, whats the point of that? I have talked EXACTLY on subject, I've said everything you've asked, whats the problem.

    predominately,

I produce c++, sometimes java on windows,

I use bash scripts, and other scripting languages on linux

You strike me as someone talking out there ass, because anyone with experience uses every OS, and doesn't say one is best.
