at lakeview elemaentary 3rd and 4th had benchmark testing a big rain storm was there mrs. Pate the princibel , srry about spelling she was a little old she thought a tornado came
XD we don't got one. Sighh... all the kids in my class will not know what to do besides run to my food's teacher's pantry, since it's all cemented in. But they won't huddle and cover their necks
Shouldn't the staff be on the floor as well? If a tornado really were coming, after all, the staff would want to protect their own necks as well. It speaks volumes about the alleged effectiveness of a protective measure if the people telling others to assume the position won't do it themselves.
@schuminweb Well the staff is supposed to look for the actual tornado outside, or a sign of one. If one is spotted they will tell us and cover as many students as possible.
@FreakGta4 well in that case, why not have the students on standby, then when they see a tornado, all of them can get down on the floor? this is supposed to be in the event of an actual tornado, not in the event of a possible tornado.
@redsoxguy18 I see what you are saying. They(Principal, Assistant Principals) will watch the weather or listen to their NOAA Radios. What they do is when they hear that there is a Tornado Warning issued for the area, they immediately sound the alarm(fire) or announce it over the PA system for them to go into the hallway.
@redsoxguy18 The reason why they do it that way so in case there is a real tornado and it is not spotted, the kids are already in place and you do not have to worry about trying to get them into position.
@schuminweb As adults, they probably don't need the practice, if there was a real tornado, I'm sure they'd check to be sure the children are down, and then assume a protective position themselves. But remember, in any kind of emergency, teachers need to be the heroes, especially if the kids don't know how to protect themselves.
i remembered farting many times during these. The shit was so goddamn funny. One kid did the same thing except it fucking stunk.

I love how the staff are just standing up, lol.
In my school our "safe zone" was by a huge glass window just down the hall.
