  • Whatever Paul was smoking when he wrote this, I want some!

  • super like this song!!!!

  • super like this song!!!!

  • Браво!

  • best singer ever. PERIOD!

  • I was listening to this song again today because it's funky and I'm stranded. It was performed first by Screaming Jaw Hawkins in 1973, but Paul's first performance of it was in 1971. After a little more investigation, I discovered it was copywritten in 1971 by MLP, which stands for McCartney Productions Limited. Whether he wrote it or Macca or whoever is unclear, but he owns the lyrics and the song. Either from original production or buying it off later.

  • @britnee2469 Paul and Linda wrote it, not Screaming Jay Hawkins. Hawkins just covered it.

  • Now , I turn this shit on maximum, sit back open my window and smoke myself a fine joint, cause my bananas older then yours!

  • Hall Pass best scene!

  • I love Paul's vocals on this song

  • I'm 19 years old and this is easily one of my favorite songs.

  • tananà tananà

  • Such an underrated album ! And my favorite phrase with this song is"catch up Cat Stevens",which actually is catchup cats and kittens, oh well, see you at the bathroom on the right.

  • Pretty easy to get the song facts prior to posting.

  • i've always been a bit of a paul-mocker for his treacly sentiment:'hey jude, you make me puke...'but this is quite brilliant.i don't think i've heard it in 40 or so years, but i was listening to an old viv stanshall peel session when this came on.i almost didn't even remember it as paul,so mumbed out have i become to his sappy stuff.you should have done a lot more of this type of music ,sir.

  • Класс !

  • @highschoolmusical841 No Paul McCartney Wrote this under the name Percy "Thrills" Thrillington. It was an instrumental on that album but this is also Paul's.

  • с этой песни я и начал слушать "Битлов"...

  • @bkmlfhbr this is Wings, not Beatles

  • @llabful It was the second of the two albums McCartney released between leaving The Beatles and forming Wings. So it was pre-Wings.

  • @britnee2469 This was the biggest McCartney's hit in Russia at the time and now Russians are asking Paul to re-release it, but in the West this song wasn't a big deal because radio stations didn't play it for some reason, they played his other songs

  • @llabful I love it, it's unique! And for some reason I can't stop dancing to it.

  • @britnee2469 it's a song about food written by Screaming Jay Hawkins who also wrote I Want to Put a Spell on You

  • @llabful Wait, this wasn't written by Macca?

  • @llabful So he wrote it, but Paul McCartney was the first ever to sing it right?

  • @britnee2469 no, there is on YouTube a video of Screaming Jay Hawkins doing this song

  • @britnee2469 frankly I don't know who wrote this song, maybe Macca after all

  • Love this: what the heck happened to my Ram album?! Anyway, this is like such a guilty pleasure...I'll always love this as a rarity hardly heard or thought of for ages, but thanks to Youtube here it is, aaah....

  • So I sat at the table, A laptop at my nose.. Wow, how many my mates have considered this song, As a brilliant, funny, As for lyrics, a silly cantata… Sore were we from the crack, Those desires and frights of next day, Which, oh alas, didn’t want to be got left behind, Those sensual sounds, Those buds that had come into flowers… Though, I haven’t permission to tell… That the clear and profoundly covered, In the genius song, Which Sir James Paul has composed in the verse…
  • Paul McCartney was asked if it was true that he had fathered two children during the Beatles' Hamburg years. Yes, he replied, but they were two of my early releases.

  • For the first 10 years of my life, we didn't have a television. We only had a sony record player. I listened to a bunch of albums but my favorite were Ram, Rubber Soul, and Sgt Pepper. I was very lucky.

Ram is definitely one of those "desert island" type of albums.

  • @koyunbaba73 You were blessed by the gods,,,,yes?

  • quite possibly the silliest song

    but absolutely brilliant

  • el maestro logrando esa voz tan cabrona indiscutiblemente una obra maestra aqui en mexico fue muy popular desde que salio el plato caliente en 1971 han oido ese tipo de voz en otro cantante ? haganmelo saber...

  • "Toss it in the mix honey..."

  • I was 21, my brother and I had a disco.... not that kind of stupid music. We played This LP, Allman Bro, Zepplin, Cactus, Free, Black Sabboth, Sly & the Family Stone, Uriah Heep, and all the good rock & roll in Amarillo Texas.

  • PUTA MEDRE!!! LO MEJOR DE LO MEJOR!!!

  • This is my favortie song on Ram..... Everyone makes fun of me for liking this song. .....

  • @Beatleluvvr "Everyone" are fucking idiots

  • @Beatleluvvr Don't listen to them. Ram is an awesome album, and this is an awesome song. It deserves as much lovin' as possible.

  • excellent album

  • Hall Pass.

  • Best music I've tuned into in ages!

  • <3

  • totally beatiful very nice

  • It's not on first because of "deliver your children", but it's very precious second beloved wings' tune ever.

  • King of the Melody! The Best!

  • @garmstrong56

I did know about it. XDD

  • "remember" this one, but it took a "something" moment and Q107 to bring it back.. hey dm3830, still have the original beatles vinyl from 45 years ago?

  • This song kicks some serious butt!

  • wtf is hall pass ?

  • Comment removed

  • I drove all across and around the USA in a 1971 VW

Aug 1971. Ram on my 8 track all the way! LOL

Music has a way of bringing back memories. Thanks!!

  • Tom Waits heard this and became Tom Waits.

  • @ElRayJackson strange, i dont see Capt Beefhart in this song

  • great song by paul mccartney and wings I LOVE it

  • @rockandhard1

    Its not a wings song

  • @rockandhard1 Just Paul and Linda

  • Comment removed

  • An old remake by 'Loud Jets` is not at all worse than this. Compare them if you want!

  • To me, this is like Paul's own "I Am The Walrus". It's great.

  • Caution, "Genius" at work---never heard this one before, great song, thanks.

  • Great tune!

  • yer so right !

  • Is it me or does this sound EXACTLY like Three Dog Night? (this came first, just for the record :-)

  • @REMCUREBOY so technically you mean three dog night sound exactly like this :P xD

    3.Tug Of War

    4.Ram

    5.Flaming Pie

    1. Band on the Run (I put it up there with the best of the Beatles...its on the same excellent par with the Beatles)

    2. Tug of War

    3. Off the Ground

    4. Memory Almost Full

    5. Flaming Pie

  • @REMCUREBOY nice all those that you mentioned are awesome! little dif from mine but its awesome! do u like ram or flowers in the dirt? i still have to finish listening to run devil run,off the ground, and all of driving rain by the way.

  • @Mrmofongo624 I love Ram, especially "Too Many People" and "Ram On". I do like Flowers in the Dirt, but I lean more towards Off the Ground and Flaming Pie. I do love "Figure of Eight" a ton of Flowers.

  • Goin' to his concert TONIGHT!!!! WOOP-WOOP!

  • Amazing !

  • 2nd best solo beatle album

  • @AnnaBeatles65 I knew this song thank to Hall Pass. So?

  • @AnnaBeatles65 let me guess you didnt know about it huh.

  • @AnnaBeatles65 I don't know what Hall Pass is.

  • i used to listen to this song up to the first up to 1:50 cause i thought it got repetitive. I was wrong. The part is after 2:55. Nobody can scream like paul! awesome song!

  • @Mrmofongo624 What's even more amazing was his ability to sing sweet, bell toned vocals and go apeshit at the drop of a hat, as this song so beautifully proves.

  • my dad showed me this song and i luved it

  • as someone said ram is fooking brill

go listen to the whole album guys

    luv Linda's bcking vocals

  • who says paul can't rock it, for shame.

  • Why the hell isn't this on the radio? Imma call some radio stations and complain lol.

  • thumbs up if you heard this on hall pass. good tune

  • nice 'net surfing tune.

    Thanks for posting!

  • One of my favorite songs !

  • i wish there were more sons like this

  • if you liked this, check out Tom Waits - Hoist That Rag

  • Thumbs up if Hall pass brought you here :) ......

  • Love it!

  • This is such a fun song and yeah, it is underrated. Paul McCartney is an inveterate rocker!

  • This song is about having a blast!!!!

...of two youngsters concealed in a barrel, sucking Monkberry Moon Delight...

  • Ram is a masterpiece! I've said that since I was 16!!!

  • @richardkain1

I have to agree. This is Paul's Sgt. Pepper. Albums with this much texture, color, and creativity are few and far behind.

  • RAM ON

  • What is this song about??? I love it, but what is it about?!

  • so... what is this song about? Great Song

  • My personal favorite album of all time! This song is one of the reasons why!!!

  • Ram is a fucking masterpice. Enough said.

  • @itsbridgetlogann Oh man, no truer words have ever been spoken. Paul was the only smart one...

  • @Gigrantula58 If you're referring to the Beatles, then I'll have to disagree. Definitely the BEST out of the four, but John and George are daaaaaamn talented. Ringo was a magnificent drummer, but musically, not even close to the level of those three.

  • @itsbridgetlogann Yeah, but Paul was more of a common man. By the time this record came out, John & Yoko were going through that weird "all-natural" stage. George was coming out with Dark Horse and Ringo...well, Ringo was just doing LSD, alot of LSD. I spoke unclearly, I should have said, "The only sane one".

  • The first LP I bought was "Ram" when I was 15 in 1970. Played it to death in vinyl, cassette, CD. Never quite tire of it. This is a crazy performance for Paul; almost "Helter Skelter"-ish with that vocal. Such a fun, nonsense song. Always love those distinctive bass lines Sir Paul does, too. Amazing.

  • Honestly, I knew the tune for ages however while watching Hall Pass I recalled the song, found on tube and was pretty surprised it is Mc Cartney's song, had it on the reel tape long agooo, lovely tune anyway.

  • I understand where Paul's coming from here..................tomato does have a horrible sound, when you think about it.

  • Not a bad song, but I'm not very fond of it. This is a fantastic example of Paul's vocal range. A true testament of how large it is!

  • his voice at 4:49 is *positive adjective of your choice*

  • "When I looked my banana is older than the rest." Tell me about it.

  • Is that Linda singing background?

  • @itsbridgetlogann yep that's Linda

  • This is Ram!

  • dont like....... :(

  • @juanperuya476 yeah ... i would love it if he stopped whining out EVERY word -_-

  • @bklynblonda =no comprende? whining out? what are you percieving?

  • its like Paul McCartney on crack. haha love him.

  • He wrote SO MANY great songs that we tend to forget some, like this one for instance wich I find extraordinary... not so many instruments but they all fit and the vocals are insane!

  • esa cancion me hace hasta llorar

  • This is my fav album of all time. Ram was best by Paulie. Still listen to it on my old 1971 LP. Thanks Paul xxx

  • ОБОЖАЮ эту ВЕЩЬ !!!!!!!! Слушаю ее уже более 30 лет !!!!! Привет ВСЕМ из ТУЛЫ !!!!!! MonkBERRY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GIVE IRELAND BACK TO THE IRISH/GIVE LAPLAND BACK TO THE LAPS/GIVE YOKO BACK TO THE JAPS!

  • So underrated!

  • @JesseReith1 Yeah, probably top song on Ram and that's saying something when Dear Boy and Smile Away are on there too. The critics (and his old band mates) got it wrong about this album when it first came out but the reviews will probably be more favourable when it's next re-packaged. Mind you, who the hell cares, just live the music! He should do a RAM tour.

  • This song is amazing. The vocals are awesome

  • sensacional cancion del maestro PAUL

  • @Andymercury71 right on. first heard this in the late 70's

    btw my new channel.....pinballwizard108

  • @Andymercury71 pensar que la critica lo depedazo a este album es el mejor de mccartney solista!!! uno mejor que el otro las canciones.

  • @luquitas890 recuerda... nadie es poeta en su propio tiempo...

  • Hes channelling Screaming Jay Hawkins in this one

  • @Studmasterify Screaming Jay did a cover of this. McCartney used it in the pre-show music on his 1993 tour.

  • love this album

  • he had gots to release this song.

  • One of his few post-Beatles' works that's as good as anything he did with the other lads from Liverpool. The man has a freakish knack for turning pure sound into joy.

  • Fun Song, boy could he scream back then.

  • amazing song!

  • Who the fuck dislikes such a masterpiece?!!piss off yoko!!!

  • @Blubberbernd95 what is the relation with yoko please? ....

  • @pralineonoisettes Hmm...yes, Yoko has nothing to do with Paul McCartney, you're right -.-

  • what i like most of this song are the chorus girls "papa papa parabara".it is funny

  • @andana52 It's just Linda, I think.

  • GOD...I Love this song. Had the 8track in the early 70`s as a kid. I get shivers at 4:21 still. Awesome

  • @Tyge250 I had it on 8track too! Leave that sh** in all night!

  • Screaning Jay Hawkins does a crazy cover of this song.

  • @mizzury54 yep, actually it's obvious that macca wrote that song for him... he must have been proud when Jalacy covered it,2 years after that Elvis jammed on Lady Madonna... genius composer!

  • I heard this song on Hall Pass and id'd it and was like Paul Mccartney? really? I CANT GET ENOGH OF IT!

  • Супер!!!Песня на все времена.

  • KE BUENA ROLA de este GENIO Y KE VOZ UFFF!!

  • Excelenteee Paul MCc (L)

  • This song is one of my all-time favorite McCartney songs. I heard it waaaaaaay back in 1971 (or 1972?) when I was a young punk so I went out to buy the album (RAM). Couldn't stop playing the song. I must have played it a million times.

  • I just love the part where he yells "OF TWO YOUNGSTERS CONCEALED IN A BARREL, SUCKING MONKBERRY MOONDELIGHT!" lol defintely my favourite part!

  • "SUCKING MONKBERRRYYY MOOONN DELIGHT!!!!!!!!.. papapapa..."no stop this fucking song in ears.. i love this song is crazyyy... im so in love ***** oh seigneur dieu c trooppppppp boooonnnnnn cettte toune. JAPPROUVE ASTIE :)

  • Quem mais se não James Paul McCartney?

  • @MartinmanD28 As the Fireman (2008), he's got a song called "Nothing Too Much Just Out of Site" -- he still got the scream. Check it out.
