Even i used to look at these trains during 1995-1997 from my grannys house terrace which is very nearer t track......ALAS those days will never come back now all the 4 lines including suburbs where completely bg now

@vb642 yes ofcourse becoz it was golden period, i used to think where these trains are going, even i dont know their destination but it was nice , iam proud to say i travlled in the last day of MG train from tambaram to kodambakkam , lot of people from various areas who used that MG service gave a tearful frewell iwas among them.
@pulsar150greay I think the South MG rakes were one of the cleanest in the entire country. You could literally sleep on the floor after dusting it off. Alas, MG is no more in that section :-( :-(
woww,red colored coaches, MG, good old days i was 10 yrs old and used to travel in nellai exp from TVL to CHN, remainds me i used to getup at chengalpattu to get the first view of the electric engine which would have hauled from VPT. and the electric trains crossing ,hmmm iam moved .thanks for taking me back to my school days

@pulsar150greay I am sure you must be missing the MG electrics a lot, as well as the MG crack trains such as Vaigai and Pandian. I miss them a lot!

Glad I was able to evoke some memories for you! In Dec. 2007, I traveled from Egmore to Nagercoil and saw the disused MG line - felt so sad.
