@jjobie The Henry Wood Promenade Concerts (a.k.a. "The Proms") presented by the BBC, is an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in London.
I would never think the Proms would ever play something like this. this is amazing :))) Ive never seen the opera but just listening to this i know it's amazing :D
@musiklovebird If you think that's impressive, seek out a DVD of Sweeney Todd In Concert, from 2001. The production features a chorus of about 50. When they hit that lyric........BOOM!
That prelude is just phenomenal. I played bits of it in the NYMT production but they'd cut a lot out for time. Shame, I would have loved to have done all of it.
I love the full prelude, especially when it goes into a variation Green Finch and Linnet Bird :D

Absolutely amazing hearing the prelude on the Albert organ. I'm gonna go play it right now on my much much smaller organ.
