Just got an 07 Unlimited Sahara on Tuesday......never had a Wrangler before, just diesel Fords.  Lovin every minute of it so far, had the top off all weekend....was great. cant wait to start scoping out new stuff for it, and find some trails around here in Rochester, NY to head out on.

I would like to get a Jeep 4-door but I'm a little leery due to having gone to a dealership the other day (to look at them) and seeing some foam material on the side of the driver's door in one of the vehicles that was pinched between the metal and a plastic molded part. I couldn't help but be sad that something that obvious wouldn't be caught by someone before it made it off the production line. So now I'm not sure I want to shell-out my hard-earned money if these Jeeps are just thrown together

these jeeps are amazing, i have one, they do need to put more power in them though, other wise great even stock. cherokee and wrangler are the bestjeep ever made. then they had to make shit like patriot and compass

i understand your point.. but in all honesty. this creek is beyond help. thousands (yes, thousands) of old tires line the shore in places. People dump tons of garbage off in it on a regular basis. It's awful. At one point in the video you can see me run over a 2x4 that pops out of the water in front of the jeep. it's risky driving through it, you risk hitting a washing machine or recliner...

Now they like to call the cops on you when you are out shooting in the middle of nowhere because they decided to walk(in velour jogging suits no less) right down to where you are shooting at instead of taking the other 10 dirt roads that lead away from you.

yeah.. not an abbreviation for anything. CJ was actually an abbreviation for civilian jeep though. the 4door unlimiteds are technically called the JKL.

Well the two front pieces are easy to take off.. and the larger back piece is alot easier with two people.. and if you arent strong enough it requires two people.. probably weighs about 200-300 pounds which doesnt sound like much, but it is distributed across alot of space so it makes it harder to lift..

it's not too hard to do. for the hardtop you just unscrew 8 or 10 bolts with an allen wrench and lift it off. You need the help of at least one other adult though. It weighs approx. 180lbs. The soft top is folded back via two hand clips in two steps.. it's much easier to deal with.

I want a JK; just can't decide on an unlimited or the old standard 2-door. Like both and obviously the 4-dr. is more practical, but I also like the smaller dimensions of the 2.

Can't say I blame you for your dilemma! my lifestyle was better fit for a 4-dr. It being my only car, it's nice to be able to throw something in the back and still haul 4-5 people. Just keep that in mind when considering your purchase. If it's strictly a toy and not a DD, the 2-dr. may be right for you. Good luck!

I have an '05 Unltd. 33-12.50-15's, 4" lift, safari top, basslink, alpine, highlift, 4 light bumper bar, 2 lights on the window, grab handles, etc. And some say to get more, which I will. At my own pace, not to compete. Will soon be getting a cold air intake and throttle body spacer and exhaust. Enjoy your JEEP, its a nice ride. Who cares what others think. You have cool parents. We bought our son an '01 XJ, he loves it.

I built a TJ, and its still hard to warm up to the JKs. They are starting to grow on me though. They look great with about 4" lift, 37's, and crawler bumpers. Whats you plans on mods?

I could not agree more.. 37's look sick on a JK unlimited.. Considering it's my daily driver and my only vehicle.. I can't see myself going any bigger than a 2.5" lift and 34's at the most. Gas mileage and power goes to crap if you dont regear. Mine has the Dana 44 in the rear and 4.10 gears (2007 option only, they went down to 3.73) so I should be ok for some slightly bigger rubber.
