You have to completely erase the first layer otherwise its white and you wont see any layer below it? O.o i got really comfused by that... hehe, oh and im vampire_reality XD not that anyone knows who that is...

Yup, because the 1st layer is supposed to be for the bg, but if you do the lineart first you have to use another layer, and to not confuse myself I delete the 1st layer :P Oh and I think I already saw you on RMD :P

You need to use different layers, and always keep the lineart layer above the coloring layer if you want to see the lines...:D and thanks !

I used the lock alpha button that is the same as preserve opacity on Sai if that's what you asked ...:O
