Dr Verghese,

I'm an operating room nurse ( for many years ) . I wanted to tell you how very much I enjoyed your book " Cutting For Stone ".The surgery portions of the story were very real to me. I felt like I was standing at the OR table .Is there any surgical experience in your background ? It certainly felt like it ! I hope there will be another book forthcoming. I didn't want this to end. Thank you !

Dr. Verghese, I don't exaggerate when I say I felt sad when I finished each one of your three books. I felt as if some dear friends (Vickie, ShivaMarion, David) had gone away indefinitely. I don't know what to do with that feeling.

I just wanted to tell you how much I love your book 'Cutting for stone.' I grew up in Ethiopia and went to a school that was run by nuns. I also love medicine, though I'm not a doctor I work as a nurse in the USA. I love your book very very much because I relate to it on many levels. I just want to say thank you very much for writing such a beautiful book.
