Tomtoms are the best GPS's. I've used GPS's for 6 years in my job and have gone to about 1500 different addresses with GPS's -- Garmin, Tomtoms, Rightway, Magellan, etc.. Tomtoms have the best interfaces, and being able to mark roads as unpassable is huge. On a Garmin, for example, if you come to a bridge that's out, you have no way of blocking it in the GPS, so when you drive away (and you don't know which direction to head), the GPS may reroute you BACK to that bridge.

@slashtiger1 Ah, just my experience, nothing concrete. 1% of youtube is useful or entertaining, 15% are reposts with a website or some branding on them, and the rest are some form of trolling for views. Click on any video with 3+ million views and then look at the 'suggestions' over on the right and see if more than 3 are trash ;)

Garmin?? Better maps?? FORGET GARMIN! The Garmin unit I had got me lost the 2 times I actually needed it. Then failed after 3 mos. A friend's was toast right out of the box. Tried a Magellan Maestro - CRAP Bluetooth, CRAP FM. TomTom 720 - Impressed!! IT HAS FM OUT, it works, is more accurate, the Bluetooth works, the maps are accurate. Dunno where you got your info on the FM from...

TomTom has fixed the FM transmission. If you are transmitting music it will transmit the directions also. other then that, Garmin, and Magellan send me against one way traffic with 2009 maps, and TOMTOM which i have never updated the maps they are still 2007 send me the correct way on one way streets!!

Tom Tom is a portable sat nav device for using in the car just put a postcode or address into the unit and it will route you there. Found Mnc group online who where able to advise on the best model for me and really great prices and help

Silly at the end but it makes my point... if you're taking shared information from other TomTom users you're assuming the info is reliable. It just takes a couple people messing around to mess up the "real time" maps you've downloaded. Hopefully the TomTom sharing system has a feedback loop so anyone sharing bad information can be blocked from providing future input.
