  • Dear Phantom,

    I feel your pain, bro.

  • why the hell wasnt this in the movie!!!!!!!

  • i listen!

  • Someone please get this man a kitten ...

  • Maybe they didnt include it in the movie because it wasnt in the original performances?

  • I want this song!

  • I listened!You ignored me.My world is shattered.Thanks Erik :(

  • that one always makes me cry

  • Madam Giry?

  • @TheSpongebobgo No, Christine.

  • this was so cute ;D but why wasnt it in the movie >:(

  • Why. Was. This. Deleted? It shows Erik's true feelings and how he isn't an antagonist in the movie. Ugh.

  • @sandrazocarr because learn to be lonely is the second name for this song o3o

  • i LOVE Gerard Butler

  • THIS SONG SHOULD BE IN THE FILM!!!! i <3 phantom...

  • I LOVE PHANTOM! He's soo cute.

  • OMG! And it has the melody of "Learn to be lonely"

Thank you so much for uploading it! :')

  • So sad. I hear you Erik-3

  • This has the same melody as "Learn to be lonely" at the end of the movie O.o"

  • i can see why they cut this. they wanted you to basically hate the phantom if you did no further research after watching the movie. they tried to conform to the "evil is always evil and good always prevails" frame

  • They should have left this in the movie... That ticks me off

  • i always listen and watch Gerard! swoons :)

  • It. Is. Asam

  • aaaawwww Gerry :3

  • What? is this song in the play?

  • @bnixisbest Nope.

  • beautiful. I hear you Gerry!

  • They should have had this at the end of the end credits o3o

  • Wonderful song. I almost crying.

    ♥ Gerard

  • I LOVE U GERRY! <3

  • Where did they come up with this...It isn't in the Broadway show.

  • @AstraeosProductions ALW wrote it for the film, but it didn't actually make it in. You can hear the same tune sung by Minnie Driver in the end credits.

  • He is the best Phantom! And they should kept this song!

  • Why did they delete this! How dare they Delete I song that GB (Phantom) was singing! >:(

  • why did they delete this song??? It s beautifull

  • I think they cut this out cuz they knew if they kept it it would make all the people who like the phantom even more upset that she chose the other guy insted.

  • oh my freaken gawd. He is so freaken handsome. unbelievable

  • ;( why didn't they put this into the movie?!?!?!? It totally sets the mood of how the phantom wants you to feel. He is sharing with us the majority of his life in 2:18!! It's so sad!! And as always Gerard Butler did an amazing job singing this!!

  • oh my god :(

  • Questions i <3 Phantom of the Opera but i still dont know

    who is this Eric guy?

When does this song appear in the film? or doesnt it is it like a extra they didnt put in?

Please if u know tell me im confused

  • @BetrayedPunkGirl Erik is the phantom's real name XD and its eriK not eriC (sry i'm obsessed and it drives me mad when its spelled wrong) and its an extra that didnt make it into the movie.

  • Phantom rocks i would go for him!

  • I start to hate Christine in the end why because:

    1. she went for a guy that sings like a girl

2.The poor phantom is left alone with no friends

3.the phantom lived such a sad life she cant just make him happy

  • @kaaazuuuma AGREED. TOTALLY!

  • If Eric really was so handsome and sexual, as Butler - Raul would lose, without any word. At Phantom's feet would lie both Christina, and Meg and madam Giry and all other female audience.:)))

  • I wouldve chosen phantom if I were christine

  • Aw Erik!! Screw Christine, I'M listening!!

  • This would been cool at the end after the credits as an extra scene after everything had happened, and to show that he will always love christine. Oh how I love this movie!!! what a good song <3

  • If I was Christine I would have chosen The Phantom, no doubt about it.

  • @ASDG3763 A crazy guy who hasn't seen the light of day for years, who pun-jabs people for fun and is something of an arsonist? I wish you both happiness.

  • @Eruadhiel I am a total Phantom girl...But your comment made me laugh so hard..."Pun-jabs people!" Ahaha! xD :')

  • he has an angel voice

is his face really scared? under his mask

  • @Miyuke1234 the face isnt even that bad

  • This is a really good song i wish that they put it in the movie

  • Such a beautiful song, even if a tad sad. Such a wonderful voice Gerard Butler has. Makes me swoon when I hear it. Gerard as The Phantom....LOVE <3!!!

  • Now why the heck would they cut this out?!!! *sniffle* it's almost as heartbreaking as when Erik listened behind the statue to All I Ask of You!!! Awwww!!

  • I think this is the first Youtube video that I've ever seen that has 0 dislikes!

and for good reason...Gerard Butler is the best Phantom of all time!

  • Gerard Butler! I've never know that he can sing :D Cool :) it sounds good . I love him ♥

  • Gerard Butler.....I Love this guy xxxxx

  • "sniff" Christine, you IDIOT!

  • aaaaaaaweeeee!!!!!

    I LOOOOVE HIIIM!!!!!

    <3 poor thing

  • the phantom is my all time fav. character yours too? like this

  • they use this song in the movie! they use it before the credits begin and raoul sees the flower that the phantom put on her grave.... just learnt that now :P but gerard butler doesn't sing... :(

  • i think i've fallen in love with the phantomm...

I wish i were Christine to make the best decission...LOVE THE PHANTOM 4EVER!!

  • yes why??amazing song.......and your speech is absolutly right where is christine listening to this song?????this song made me love him more and more and more

  • why is this song deleted??it is amazing and show the sensitivity of the phantom that christine was not able to see!!

  • @Anna2bd I agree that he is not completely evil, but he kills people just to prove a point. He crazy

  • @Anna2bd it was writen my somone else and they didn't get what they wanted and told Mr. Lloyd Webber where to shove it ... thats why this absolutly epic song is not in the film.

  • @Anna2bd Not to mention in the sequel he gambles away their fortune and drinks too much!!! Raoul never deserved Christine!!

  • Omgosh he's so sweet and such a gentleman

    Dear Phantom,

I'd listen to you! Any day!

    ;)

  • @Luem7 Ohja, Ich bin ganz deiner Meinung! =))

Und sonst.. Ich liebe dieses Lied. Ich liebe Die Stimme Von Gerard Butler, Ich <3 Gerard Butler und vorallem seine Rolle als das Phantom. =)

  • Great song

  • I know how the phantom feels, having Passion and desire to have the one woman you would hive anything for and renounce, the phantom I believe has an obsession of love which can be turned into anger and hate depending on situations, that is how much one man wants and needs a woman he desires and years.

  • Heart warming song.

  • Reminds me of me when I was lonely and isolated in the truck as a truck driver, marisol my bibita was always there for me whenever I needed care , she rendered care and confort, thats why I love her so, no one would listen to my troubles, but she was there, even tho I have never seen her physically just by VIA text and telephone but more text I fell in love with this woman, I loved from the soul and of the heart, and I still do. How do I long the day she feels and loves me.

  • oh great. yet another scene that makes the fated end of the phantom's heartbreak even more tragic. "she saw my loneliness. shared in my emptiness" she was an orphan. he was an outcast. she alone would listen to his music, so he held on for as long as he could. say what you want. the phantom might have been a villain, but he was not the devil.

  • It's such a beautiful song. I wish they hadn't deleted it from the movie.

  • Totally wished that they would have kept this song in. It's absolutly beautiful.

  • THANK GOD ITS WAS DELETED TERRIBLE THIS ITSELF PUTS SHAME TO PHANTOM

  • 5 minuits ago I came back from italy!! And I bought a Phantom mask from Vinice!! =DD

  • this song is at the end of the film but it's sung by a woman and it has completely different lyrics, they probably thought the song was too good to not put it in at all :)

  • Beautiful song, but taking it out was the right call. It adds a dimension of sympathy for the Phantom that isn't needed. He already gets too much, IMO.

What he called "love" for Christine was really a violent obsession. He constantly manipulated Christine for his own purposes. It was never about Christine; it was always about himself. That, folks, isn't love.

The Phantom was the devil, as Aristarxos85 says, but he was masquerading as an angel--and the character masterfully fools the masses.

  • @BFarmer1980

Good point. But never underestimate the devil's skills...the fallen angel is perhaps the most seductive character ever, and it makes perfect sense that he knows exactly what he has to do to gain Christine's (and our) sympathy. But leaving the devil out, could the Phantom simply be the perfect example of an outcast, who never gave up the dream of love, though no-one ever cared to teach him what love is? I think that might be his curse...and that certainly calls for sympathy, IMO :-)

  • @MklintM Point well taken, sir. Certainly, we can't underestimate the Devil's capabilities. :-)

And, yes, one could certainly view the Phantom in the light of an outcast who never gave up love's dream, though I'd still point out that it couldn't and wouldn't excuse his actions.

The ability to look at a story and character from different perspectives is part of what makes art so amazing!

  • what a background..

When the devil falls in love..

Christine was so stupid to dump such an artist for someone who just cared only for her appearence.

    Why did they deleted it?

Instead of that they could delete Raoul thus Christine would stay with the Phantom!

  • @Aristarxos85 agree

  • Why on earth did they delete this song from the movie?. . . it would have worked so well since during the credits they play "Learn to be Lonely"~ it would have made it more obvious his reason for loving her. . .

  • Think so too - it´s a very great song... You can hear the melody in the movie, after the song Masquerade, when gerard butler goes downstairs, a little second before he take christine´s necklace... but the whole video in the movie would be great... don´t understand them...

  • Christine dumped the Phantom for a guy that sings like a girl!

  • @unicornnnnnn actually, it was the phantom was the one who sang like a girl

  • @unicornnnnnn .. And looks like a girl ! >.<

  • @unicornnnnnn justin bieber lol

  • @unicornnnnnn He looks like one too! :)

  • damn... if i could, i'd tie myself to the phantom!!

  • Gerard Butler has the most romantic voice ever listened in the story of cinema...

I THINK I'VE FELL IN LOVE...

  • I like this song. :-)

  • IS THIS realy mister Gerard Buttler singing?!?! Awsome voice

  • Why the heck was this cut out of the movie?!?!?!! This shows a lot of His feelings for her and explains so much!!!!! They make him out to be some raging psychopath!!!! This should have been in the movie!!!! >:(

  • Do you know about when in the movie this would have been in? By the looks of it, maybe just before Don Juan Triumphant? Maybe?

  • this is sorta lame

  • It's sad that this wasn't left in the movie. It shows that the Phantom loved her for more than just her voice, and really adds to his character. It shows that despite him being childish in his mentality, that he understands deeper emotions outside of hate and is able to comprehend what love is... even if he doesn't seem to fully comprehend the purpose of mutual feelings...

  • @offensivebehaviors dang i agree with you!!!

  • If this scene wasnt deleted where would it have gone?

  • @TamaraLee13 Well, seeing as how it's all ready made, I'm assuming they all ready had a place for it. I'm assuming this was made for either before Christine was taken to his lair, or right after she left it.

  • As I have seen most of Gerry Butlers movies, his singing voice and acting talents are beyond words that I can describe, including some funny commercials he's been in the past. This song should have been kept in this movie for a more personal touch with the phantom's feelings, and Gerry's tone fitted that well, probably even better than any other "phantoms" who have recorded in the past..This changes some viewers of how he really felt(not as a monster), but shows how compassionate he was..

  • wutda!!...LEONIDAS CAN SING?!..hahahha...but its cool GERRY is a great singer! ^^

  • i love you Gerard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @xianneh mee too

  • BIG MISTAKE: they NEED to put this in the movie!!! It adds another entire dimension to the Phantom character, and will surely be appreciated by the audience! What a missed opportunity :(

  • This song shoul have been left in the movie as it's so pretty. God, he's so good

looking-in away you wish she had stayed with him nelliebell49

  • I Love This Song, Gerard Did A Fantastic Job it Melted My Heart

  • Comment removed

  • Gerard <3

  • i mean even if they didn't think it fit in with that one scene or the movie they should've put it in the end!!!

  • Why was this taken outt?!>:O

  • Bawling like a baby and being turned on at the same time is a strange yet delightful combination. :D

  • His voice adds to how amazing he is...sigh.

  • :D I loove Phantom of the Opera!! I havent seen it in like 3 years!!!!!!!!!!!! They deleted this!!

  • i think the reason they deleated it is cos it wudnt fit any where

  • I wanna hug him :(

  • so beautiful!! Should have been left in. Why did they take it out? no fair

  • its the tune of learn to be lonely only with different lyrics this one is sung by him ^ (Gerard Butler) learn to be lonely is sung by Minnie Driver (Carlotta)

  • Ohh, It's the same theme from "learn to be lonely" in the credits.

  • i love this i'm so sorry they deleted this from the movie it would have been so beautiful if they kept it

  • i think it was in the end

  • i think it was in the end dontbeanash

  • When would this have been in the movie? Like, what part?

  • @DontBeAnAsh The end...

  • They should have kept this in the movie!

  • errr this song is'nt in the orginal song but its a rather good song none the less!!!

  • I'm listening, and thinking, WHY THE HELL DID THEY REMOVE THIS SONG!?!?!?! If there's a really good and emotional part about the Phantom, here it is, why delete??? No really? why??

  • awwwwwwww this song <3

  • Hello, my name is Noone, I would listen but theres only 80 people named noone who will listen!

  • Erik, dont say no one is listening.Im 12 and I definately would listen.

  • this made my heart melt.

  • @xxnikky666xx mine too.Firt break,then melt.

  • I think the reason they didn't keep it was that it's such a change of pace from the other songs. Also, I think Andrew Lloyd Webber had total creative rights to the show, and this song was not in the original musical.

    Shame, though. It's so pretty.

  • his voice makes my clothes fall off

  • he breing a sexyniss to his voie and the mucis i am like paritlised be him every time i here his voie

  • I will listen ;'(

  • OMG! If I had seen that before I would have freaked out!!!! seriously. this is soo beautiful. even when I heard the song from minnie driver (which plays in the end), I almost had to cry... but if I had heard the phantom sing... OMG!!! <3

  • @RainbowFirebird i would do more thn hug him too!!!!!lol hes so gorgeous!

  • This probably would have been right before he goes to loosen the chandelier. He's wearing the same outfit. I really wish this could have stayed. I know it wasn't in the musical, but it's just so beautiful and heartbreaking.

  • Gerald did the best job that he could (given that he was completely miscast...) but I still think his singing voice is too weak and completely disengaging/uninspiring to be the Phantom.

  • they should have left this D: its so sad but such a good song he sung a good song D":

  • That's what happened to Mr Sparta after his face got ripped out in war.

  • It was deleted because no one would listen!? WRONG GERARD! D8 WE LOVE IT! DX AND WE WOULD LISTEN TO IT!

  • @oneshotofcoffee this song wasnt deleted, it is in the cemetary scene !

  • @ChristinaDestler well the scene was deleted

  • where would this be in the movie if it had come with it? and i almost dont hear the guy, cus he sings so low... but i know he sings beautiful :'-)

  • If this was in the film, where would they've put it? o.O

  • i believe it would fit after the scene of ''think of me'' before madame Giry gives the rose to Christin.

    it's an amazing scene

  • This makes me want to cry :( <3

It should have been left in the movie.

This shows the Phantoms sensitive, but not weak, side.

  • awww I LOVE THIS!!! why did they delete it???? omg i love i t!!!!!!!! its like my favorite scene and it's not in the movie, typical

  • Aghhh this soooo should have been in the movie!!! It would have fit perfectly, and it would help define the Phantom's character even more. It explains -why- exactly he picked Christine, and why he loves her so much. I was kind of wondering that before, and this explains it perfectly.

He trusted her and felt that she understood him, which is why she is irreplaceable to him.

The song also makes him more love-able (not that he wasn't before, but even more so). It should have been kept in.

  • I want to hug him :)

  • @Luenzki I want to do more than hug him...*drools*

  • im suppose to sing these song, but everytime i sing it i cant stop crying, it usually starts when i say, "i learned to listen", im such a baby with this song, lol

  • where was the song suppose to be? that so should have been in the movie? i think this might to have been shown while christine was singing think of me i bet or while raoul and christine were singing in the chapel befoe don juan

  • wonderful.

in the german version of this song, sings jana werner ( voice of christine ) the text. it surprised me, that the phatom sings this song in the original version. but...i think gerard butler is a great singer ;)

  • is there deleted scenes on the dvd.. ?

  • do you know were in the movie this song fits

  • Gerard is so handsome.....

  • mp3???

  • @otomechan10 go to
