  • Just a quick reference, you actually don't have to enter the waypoint location on every INS system over and over again. If you choose any of the three INS computers to load the information, press the remote button on the INS of that INS then enter the information for the flight plan. Then just the different modes on the other INS computers. The information should be there. It makes it easier to load the data, without having to input that info into each one.

  • I put the ready for pushback cockpit in the cls 747 200, now it is fantastic, the details of the plane are superb, and now the cockpit is fully simulated, the prize to pay is that there isn't the virtual cockpiit.

  • Just for everyone asking why theirs doesn't have INS, it is because you are using the 747-300 not -200 series. CLS put a FMC into the -300 series, but a INS into the -200 series.

  • Are you sure that for take-off the speedbrake is armated?!?!? Because isn't correct! It nedds to be armeted only for landing!

  • @paulam128 The CLS 747-200/300 is very nice looking for its completely realistic visuals such as the exterior model and virtual cockpit. I will admit, the Ready-For-Pushback 747-200 has a little more to offer with the 400+ switches and gauges and real-life procedures. The CLS 747 is almost like handling the default 747-400. But I'll agree with your opinion that the CLS 747 is "better" but only because it is nice looking and that it features an INS unit. If it had a panel like RFP it'll sell.

  • @poskyflyer Well yeah it's not going to do itself! You need to enter everysingle waypoint as discribed in the tutorial. I haven't flown the plane in a while but everyhting is in the tutorial!

  • You need to look at the charts that tell you the trim settings according to aircraft weight. They are provided with the plane.

  • does the CLS 747 contain just an INS. or did you add this INS to it? If i buy the CLS 747 will it come with a standard SMITHS FMC? or will I have to add stuff on to it. with the INS are you able to navigate from waypoint to waypoint via tracking?

  • You need to add the INS system, it's well explained on CLS's website. What do you mean by "via tracking"?

  • for example. if using the smiths fmc system. you can TRACK the direction of a waypoint using lateral navigation. meaning that you do not have to turn the aircraft manually to the desired heading to capture the waypoint, the fmc does that through LNAV. Does the INS have a function whereas it tracks the waypoint and automatically points and flies the aircraft toward the desired waypoint?

  • Oh okay, yeah, the INS is basically an old FMC, it tracks the waypoints like the FMC.

  • You can find the instructions to do so on CLS's website. All you need to do is download the INS packages and get the instructions in the readme file I think.

  • No you don"t have to, you can just use the auto heading and altitude, as well as speed.

  • Marko, excellent tutorial. I must ask though, I have absolutely no idea how to align the MSU's on the Ready For Pushback 742, as there are no switches on the Overhead panel to do so. Do you know where I can align the MSU's in the RFP 742?  Thanks.

  • Yeah, I had that problem. Uninstall and reinstall.

  • I tried that it doesnt work. I downloaded the patch off of CLS but it needs a Serial Key and I lost the box to the software its somewhere in my closet... thats my weekend project... FIND THAT CODE!!!! lol

  • Hi Mark, Do you mean completely startup FS again or startup the plane again. (batt, avionics etc). I did read all the manuals i could find.

    Thanks you for your answer. It's a great plane, I am now (on FMC) flying KJFK EHAM with KLM, above the UK and you can see the turbulance play with the plane.

    I allready sent you a message via youtube, but you probably did not find it. I am doing exactly what you do, however, my ins is not counting down during alignment and after a while it cuts out and on the overhead panel a red light with bat is alluminated. I did include all power you did.

  • Hi, I had the same problem once, so I started again and it worked. If ever it doesn"t work try taking a look at the manual.

  • I have the exact same problem. I think I will do a clean reinstall.  It is not clear to me however how CLS wants the order of installation. I mean fixes and service pack. Please let me know if you have found a solution. Regards, Antonio.

  • Yeah it doesn't look very good. Anyway the -300 looks tonnes harder to fly then the -400 especially with the autopilot.

  • First make sure you have all the SP installed. Then make sure te stabilizer is correctly set.

  • You probably got the Ready for Pushback 747-200, it used to be payware, but it's now freeware. This one here is the CLS 747-200, which is payware.

  • No, I got the exact same problem. I think it's just a problem with the plane... I never got to do a descent crosswind landing without skidding far off the centerline.

  • Need help I can't take off! I pull the joy stick all the way and it barely puts the nose up! and when I land I put full flaps and the whole plane goes down! lol even if I go 250

  • Are you sure the plane is trimmed correctly? Because I'm almost sure trimming is the problem here.

  • No it's just a simple FMC, you can't enter a flight plan or anything.

  • do what i mean is when you use it and go into your vc do you have a hole in the VC on the auto pilot

  • Very nice tutorial! But where did you get the INS from? On my CLS 747-200/300 it's just a crappy FMC that doesn't even work. I've looked at all the panels in the plane (SHIFT+1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) and none have the INS :S

  • It's because you need to go on CLS's website and download the INS models. It explains how to install them, but feel free to ask me if you still need help!

  • Hi. I'm having a bit of a problem with the INS on the CLS 747:

    I align the INS with one of the overhead Mode Selectors and the CDUs and that works okay, then I stick the flight plan in and switch to NAV mode and all that is pretty much how the real thing works too, however, the moment I push back off the stand, I get a warning light on two of the three CDUs and they lose alignment, with only one CDU remaining aligned.

  • Hum, je sais plus si les 747 avec FMC viennent avec un service pack ou pas. En tout cas sois à jour avec les téléchargements du site de CLS, et après il faut aller dans le répertoire fs, dans aircraft et dans les fichiers des avions CLS, puis va ouvre le fichier aircraft.cfg et tu vas dans le [flightsimx] correspondant à virgin atlantic et à côté de model tu écris INS sans espace après le "=".

  • 20, or 10. Then you get different V1 VR and 2 speeds. I did it all according to the manual, so I can't be wrnng about that. I think flaps 20 is just for the 747-400.
