  • the male vocalist is tony jackson who was in the eurovision group midnight in the late 70`s

  • Yes , a white girl in "blackface". Are you denying that she is? If so it just goes to show how little you really know. Run along now and talk to someone else about something you know fuck all about !

  • People, don't let the racist Trolls confuse you: this is simply a song that just happens to be sung by a black guy a white girl - no agenda, no bullshit, just a nice little pop song.

  • I remember being amazed even then (when I was aged 14) that someone could go on TOTP in 'blackface'. Truly weird. Polly was great in Pickettywitch.

  • @grownupbackwards I was only 9 and thought she was really black!

  • Just out of curiosity.

why did she wears a cheap wig.

  • Sweet Dreams were in the UK song for europe 1976 singing "Love, kiss and run" co-written by Barry Blue.(the black guy singing here). Polly Brown also had a solo song in this final , "Do you believe in love at first sight" which was later a hit for Dionne Warwick.

  • @seymourdix1 thats not barry blue....is it??? the one who sang dancing on a saturday night, school love and miss hit and run? if it is then he has dressed up as a black man

  • @BAREBACKER

You really think that Tony Jackson here could possibly be a white guy in blackface?

You ever seen a black person IRL?

  • @krakenwave are you for real???? maybe you should read a bit more i found out exactly who it is...

  • @seymourdix1 just checked, the guy here with her is tony jackson, but the actual vocal was recorded by ron roker

  • @seymourdix1 The black guy singing here is Tony Jackson not Barry Blue. Brown and Jackson also competed in the 1976 A Song for Europe bidding to represent the UK at that year's Eurovision with the song "Love Kiss and Run" (a Barry Blue/ Stephen Worth composition), which was placed fourth. Honey Honey was produced by Ron Roker and Gerry Shury. Ron Roker coincidentely co-wrote the 1983 UK Eurovision entry "I'm Never Giving Up" by Sweet Dreams - a totally different act to Sweet Dreams of 1974.

  • she blacked up???????????? in 1974?? good god

  • @mrrk THE BLACK N WHITE MINSTRELS DID NOT leave the screen until the 80s this was not bad.

  • better than the abba original

  • @BAREBACKER ya right and i love abba

  • he has a lovely smile

  • How terrible....what stupid ideas those people had in the BBC. Then there was Trevor McDonald, the first black newsreader on British TV. That caused a stir at first but now he is Sir Trevor McDonald,. Glad we have moved on from those narrow minded ideas.

  • @Markgcr Trevor McDonald was always on ITN, not BBC, who gave a break to the UK's first female newsreader, Moira Stuart.

  • This is a curious one , a song written by Abba and performed by the former singer of Pickettywitch , Polly Brown , who was blonde and white but had to wear a dark wig and wear brown face make-up, as the powers that be in 1974 thought it not right for a white girl to sing with a black man on TOTP !

  • That's interesting! And now we have a black president. How the world has changed in 35 years :)

  • @nyrainbow4 But you don't have a black Prime Minister so don't get complacent. This would not have happened in the U.S in 1974.

  • @nyrainbow4 It would be interesting if a word of it was true, but it's not so ignore the troll that wrote it.

  • @billygdj Your theory only, like it's my guess that sometime during the late sixties, a brunette called Polly Brown went into a salon and came out blonde. And here she is in 1974, bored with the tedium of bleaching her roots every week and gone back to having her hair its natural colour

  • @Strawberry7Lynn It`s a fact that in most of her Pickyettywitch videos she wears different blonde wigs and becuase of this i suspect this is also a brown wig -

  • @billygdj That's the biggest load of crap I have ever read.

  • @billygdj

I can't BELIEVE that! This WAS the seventies right?
