Hi wondering if you can still get in there as i went up there all the time as a kid and would love to take my 3 boys up there. I moved out of Dover 21 years ago and miss the adventures so please let me know Cheers
@gettingon I also played up there as a kid, but haven't been to Dover for 20 years either, it was actually quite scary up there...but ohhhh, the adventures we had :))
Actually didn't ever do the Drop properly, but knew Smokey like the back of my hand. As long as long as I looked at the back of my hand in near total darkness :D. I used to love just walking round the ditches too - like another world in there, and the crazy tank bridges that I must've nearly fell off more than a couple of times! (note to self - beer and UrbEx don't mix...) :D
@theestever I have a feeling we all will know each from the 80's as only people from Dover would know about this, as it wasn't a tourist thing then :)
we used to camp up the western heights alot usually in the smokey but a couple of times here on top we found the door open and made the most of it before it was locked again. fun times :D
l used to explore here as a kid in the 60's & loved the excitement of doing it alone. never been scared of the dark or spooked by any thing much since! thanx guys was great seeing it again...
dat bitch ass fort has alwayz bin closed, bet i cud climb up it doe, or ill jus geta sledge haha,is like da onli place i aint bin in dover, dover born nd bred lol
very spooky indeed or my eyes are playing tricks on me..lol when i paused it at 3.55i see a ghostly face next to the wall below the light( please look very carefully or you will miss it.
at 4.20 i see a few faces on the right side of the archway..again look carefully!!
The north centre detached bastion was a highlight of my summer days. I spent a lot of time researching the place and visiting it. Went back a while ago to find it locked up. Any plans to re-open it? Was a very interesting location.
Great! I used to play in here in the 50s and 60s - when the drawbridges worked and vandalism was almost unheard of. Nice to be taken around again. When will it be open to the public?
This year's event is 5/6 June 2010
