@askel89 ??? I don't know what agility associations you are n in but in every one in the world I am familiar with, a "correct" weave entry is one where the dog enters the poles with their left shoulder against the first pole -- which is exactly what "Feature" did in this clip -- no wrong entries here --even when I purposely "tried" got get her to make a mistake!
Thank you so much for DVD! It's unbelievable)) and it's work! Can I ask one question? We have one little shelti and she thinks that gate is something like barrier and she jumps! 2 gates like 2 jumps...
Can't wait to see this DVD. Loved the book 'Shaping Success'. It inspired me to retrain Kliffy's contacts one summer a few years back. A friend of mine has just read it and has had the same thing happen to her. She is out every morn and night with her dog on the contact trainer. Top marks for Buzzy's book. Hopefully my DVD will be coming soon, though I have to wait for wee Fluke to grow up before she can start weaving. From Us in NZ, Linley, Cheyanne, Kliffy and the new baby Fluke.
Can't wait to get the DVD. I've got an 18 month old Miniature Schnauzer that just started training weaves, but I'm stopping until I get the DVD. My Aussie just can't seem to get collected enough to stay in the weaves, HOPE IT'S NOT TO LATE TO RETRAIN him using your method. I guess I'll have to rename them cuz "Weave" isn't getting the best weaves from him. What is it you said to your BC at the end of this video to start the weaves? p.s. I love "Shaping Success", what a great read.
LOL her cue is "weavers." I started that after I taught in NZ as I thought it was great that that is what they called weave poles down there! As for your Aussie, yes changing your weave pole cue is important as it likely is "poisoned" in that it has been paired with the dog charging at poles and not collecting. Good luck and report back how things work for you!
What a PAWSOME teaser:)! 5 STARS! Are you actually going to sell a DVD that demonstrates your training methods for those amazing weave pole entries? Is that what phase one is? My favorite part was the three dogs weaving together:). Simply amazing.
Look at those entries...WOW!! And their speed and focus and drive through the weaves -- that Giant Schnauzer completely amazed me!, fastest weaves I've ever seen a giant do!!
That is Pande, he started with us here at puppy camp and he and Arlene have been a show stoppers ever since. . . as great an advertisement as he is for our program's weaves he is just as good a poster boy for our contact program!
That entry in the snookers will go down in history! That and little Features clip shows that the dogs truly understand their criteria and performance. Can't wait for the release!
I am not an agility person (pure obedience) but I get such a buzz out of watching dogs do the weave (esp fast & correctly). Agility seems to be so much fun, whatever the breed. I am loving your vids Susan & just love watching your pesonality & humour coming through when you are around your dogs. Great vids - keep em coming :-) 5*.
Yes that is correct. Phase One (which I am sooo stoked about --a 75 page collection of all things that are weaving) will only be available until phase 2 (the dvd) is ready. I know you guys are going to be blown away, I can't wait, it is like my baby:).
Yes that is correct, all of the dogs were trained on 2x2s exclusively--no other method in combination. There are 2 puppies less than 15 months old; Feature (mine) had less than 1 month of training and Klepto (Jef Blake smooth red) had less than 2 weeks at the time of the clip.

@ClickerDogs it seemed to me the young dog made a step back and enters from the left... but i don't know maybe the video isn't too fluid..

I am anxious for the release of phase 1 tomorrow! I have a baby dog who has been started on 2x2's, but I feel stuck in his progress. I cannot wait!
In two weeks, when phase 2 (the DVD is ready), will it be available via your web site or will cleanrun also be a source to buy the dvd?
chasrdog 3 years ago
Yes Clean Run will eventually be a source for buying the DVD.
