  • really nice performance! i like the legato and the way your tempo modifications complements the dynamics. one of the loveliest pieces, wonder if it~ll resonates on pianoforte..

    Bye

    Perlalala

  • You play beautifully!

  • A little slow but lovely...i like how you lean into the melody...that means that you feel it inside...so good to see a man play the harp.

  • Vraiment magnifique !

  • I have listened to the harp for a very long time. And male or female, this guy can really play. As a matter of fact he plays much better than most women. Compare on youtube for yourself. I am not gender bias at all...just stating an observation.

  • it's just that more women probably play because it's seen as a feminine instrument in a lot of social cultures.

just shows that gender is irrelevant when it comes to music making!

  • @yanpan16 i support your statements 100% :)

  • @yanpan16 which is odd because the harp was predominantly a male instrument. Goes to show how times change XD

  • @XHSSoph10H

    same as the flute!

  • sad that the harp isnt in tune...

  • I don't think, they play it more softer, because they're women. Men could play it more softer too.

  • OMFG this is AWEsome

Faster!

  • i love this song...i would like to request you to play the song entitled "flight of the bumblebee"..i never see anyone play it on harp before...

  • you couldn't because bumblebee is all chromatics

  • Tres bien, but I would like to see you take this piece to another level and become one with it.

  • Beautifully played ....

  • I just loved it! You have inspired me to learn the harp. This is just a beautiful piece and you played it so angelically. My goal now is to learn the harp, and learn this piece, and hopefully, one day, play it as wonderfully as you.

  • Sorry for the untuned harp, 'll try to resolve it fast ;o) Désolé pour la harpe pas très juste, je le referai un peu plus accordé !! :o)

  • it's nicely played but like a few people have already said, it would be nicer if the harp were well tuned.

I'm not a huge fan of this piece but overall i think you did a good job. :-)

  • Hmmm...

Some mistakes, the harp is out of tune, I'd prefer the tempo a little more even but...

Excellent tone, and good clarity. I'd like to hear you play Hasslemans' "La Priere"

  • nicely played, but the harp is a bit out of tune. ;-) bothers a bit with the melody notes.

  • braaaaaaaavoooooooooo

  • yeah men are actually better anatomically cos they have stronger fingers

  • Huh? Women have enough strenght in their fingers to play the harp.

  • some women play it more softer wich can make it sound even more magnifician then men.

    i totaly agree with you

  • Very well played!! Nice interpretation of the piece! You also play it with a lot of grace!

Only, what really bothers me is the untuned harp.

  • wow super! are men better at playing harp>:(

  • So why are there an overwhelming majority of harpist who are women???

  • Actually, that "gender disparity" only occurred after WW II. Before then, most harpists (like most musicians) were men. Gender disparity in instrument choice has been studied by behavioral scientists. It seems to have to do with perceptions of gender and gender markers; both of which change in time and place.

  • Concert harpists are often female, but folk harpists are often male, maybe even the majority. The Celtic harp, as seen on the Guiness bottle, is the national symbol of Ireland, a fairly macho country. Harp-playing bards, traditionally male, used to sing the praises of their kings and satirical insults about his enemies, a tool of propaganda, if you follow. Not girly at all.

Very nicely played, by the way, Alphonse.

  • good~looking forward to see some more new posts

  • Ah...... so wonderful. As usual! Nice to see a new video from you!

  • Lovely! I'm learning this now, and it's already one of my favorites!
