  • wtf?

  • bad technique ^^

  • I've been playing for a year. I can double stroke fine. I know there is something wrong here. He managed to confuse me and i already know how to do it.

  • thats a weird way of counting quarter notes.... isnt that just going to confuse a beginner??!

  • i dont know how he plays in real, but your lessons are BAD. tempo is bad, explaining is bad. DRUM STICKS ARE ALSO BAD :D

  • 'Expertvillage' is clearly a misnomer. Take some lessons and from a teacher with experience that can eliminate all of your bad habits! You're clearly not qualified to show anyone anything let alone teach. You are entitled to this form of free speech; that i'll give you! And while your at it buy Stone's 'Stick Control' and work it to death; both hands and feet! And learn the 40 basic rudiments! And never show something like this and not the results of what your espousing!

  • @liljon71 - There's no desire to show off. Smart ass. Look at the top and you'll see the ratings; 17 likes/ 29 dislikes. You know it never ceases to amaze me how you young jerks resort to profanity so quickly. Hence, your ability to learn and brain cpacity are for sure limited. If your going to show exercises for speed and control where are the results. Duh!

  • @liljon71 - By the way, been playing professionally since i was 16 years old. I might know a little something, right. Grow up!

  • @liljon71 - And am clearly not the onlu one commenting on how poor this is. Why aren't you sending all those people your stupid profane response? What a moron!

  • At about 0:16 you first showed the double at a slow tempo. It's not accent tap, accent tap. Each hit should be the exact height.

  • he does the same way i practice my foot work. count on highhat 1-2-3-4 stomp all four times.. then increase 1&2&3&4& stomp on 1-2-3-4.. then hit highhat 1e&a2e&a3e&a4e&a stomp on 1-2-3-4

Im new, is this good practice?

  • Really....

  • APESTAS!!!! CTM!

  • sucks as much as the other expert village drum videos

  • err....i think he is the best instrctor over in expert village...and i don't think he have any tempo issue.

  • please people, dont watch anything from expertvillage. this is a wasted account with too many retards. you won't learn anything good from them. beware!!!

  • @sauronhall totaly agree, the only guy worth checking out on youtube for rudiments and hand technique is jojo mayer, the guys a machine, also well worth checking out the vic firth site full of great stuff! (with a metronome:)

  • dude, your not good enough, to teach other people, start practice for yourself

  • dude, your not good enough, to teach other people

  • Expertvillage should change their name to Noobvillage

  • i dont know anything about the "1 and a 2"thing...

  • @Chromebeast100 One and a two is how you count eighth notes. One E and AH two E is how you count sixteenth notes

  • noob

  • He has absolutely no tempo issues... I guess it's the triplet that make some people here think that... You people have a lot to learn then

But he doesn't explain anything, just showing... "see ? simple isn't it ?" and that makes him a bad teacher I agree

  • @Chachekon He does have tempo issues. It's very clear if you listen closely. He speeds up.

  • this guy should just stick to playing self-taught drums and stop trying to teach.

  • Wow...for "expert" village this guy is the shittest instructor I've seen on the net.

  • @petitoeuf8 hahahahahahaha

  • you play like shit

  • play from the heart n out your soulsss

  • he talks to fast :(

  • Muy bueno che!

miren el mio me esoty practicando helicopter e bien facil ^^

  • i dont understand.. in the beginning, he was showing it in 4/4 time and then while he was playing, he switched it to triplets....

    kind of confusing

  • What is up with jerking your wrists back? Someone needs to work on natural strokes.

  • @Brandonbraun how is that done?

    Slower tempos and muscle control?

  • Just jam and quit worring about all this. If you just practice most of this stuff comes along.

  • hmm...ya def man if i sit around and beat my set up ill get better magically, or if i go and kick a soccerball at a wall i will be a better soccer player??? not a hate comment but there are things "ARE' things that playing in a band, and just playing wat u already know wont get u better u gotta push urself to learning things u cant play very well or at all...and im not a great drummer i just got back into it and am trying new things finally

  • I could go twice as fast as that doing single strokes. Everyone says that you can go faster doing double strokes. Well I've seen some ridiculous speed on single strokes so it can't get much faster.

  • You say 1,, 2,, 3,, 4,, But themn you go like 20 beats slower up

  • it wasn't that fast

  • HOLY SHNAPS that went fast ._. =O

  • omfg dude talk thrue ur mouth nots ur nazels and it turns in 2 a roll

  • The reason it sounds wrong is because he doesn't accent the triplets.. So you can't really feel it in 4/4 even though he's playing in 4/4. And further, he's only accenting the first stroke on either hand.. So it completely throws you off.

  • wow this guy sucks at keeping a tempo

  • i think u sold check ur counting , and do where does he sucks in the counting , he started with 4 , then 8 strokes in the counting of 4 , then 12 strokes in the counting of 4 & then 16 strokes in the counting of 4 .

so i think is u dont know much about playing so might have been got confused when he played 12 strokes while counting 4

because basically what we are taught is just double the counting

    which

    4,8,16,32 and 64

  • @jvann244 he is switching to triplets but with the same rudiment so it sounds diff but it's the same

  • u counted triplets "1 & a 2 & a"

    u fail

  • people have different way of counting all over the world no way is right

  • well it does matter if you count

    1a2a3a4

    or 1aa2aa3aa4aa

If the beats are the same you are doing totally different rhythms

  • @rabbitshitaki No way is 'wrong' man.....

  • @rabbitshitaki math is the only universal language? and keeping a beat at the same speed is the same in every country too.
